When Su Zixi woke up, she opened her eyes to find it was already afternoon.
She sighed, not the least bit surprised.
The bed next to her was empty… Su Zixi’s heart sank slightly, had He Jingyao gone back to Yanzhou City again?
Though she knew it was unlikely, Su Zixi still quickly dressed and left the room, only to see Huo Yanhui, looking dejected, coming out of the room across the hall.
Su Zixi stopped in her tracks, “Dr. Huo?”
Seeing her, Huo Yanhui couldn’t stop the unease in his heart, he weakly waved at her, took a step back into his room, and closed the door with a bang.
Confused, Su Zixi had no choice but to go downstairs.
Fortunately, this ti, He Jingyao hadn’t left.
He was sitting on the living room couch, wearing a Bluetooth headset, apparently having a video conference.
The man was speaking fluent foreign language… Su Zixi listened for a mont but couldn’t make out which language it was.
The man, hearing so noise, looked up at her, smiled slightly, said sothing to the computer screen, and then took off his Bluetooth headset.
Su Zixi imdiately walked over to him and threw herself into his arms.
He Jingyao hugged her tightly, chuckling, “Did you have a good sleep?”
“Yeah…” she wrapped her arms around the man’s neck, “Jingyao, what exactly happened last night… Did Dr. Huo do sothing?”
Su Zixi had given it so thought and realized sothing was amiss. If He Jingyao hadn’t intended to break their arrangent, then he wouldn’t have gone to et the President at all. So, there must have been so misunderstanding.
He Jingyao pinched her cheek, curtly saying, “The address Yanhui gave was the dining place of the President.”
Su Zixi abruptly stood up straight, “Was it really his doing? How could he do that!”
That was too much! She had even considered Huo Yanhui a friend over the past few days! And yet he had stabbed her in the back!
No wonder He Jingyao had ordered Uncle Li to kick Huo Yanhui out last night.
“I have already taught him a lesson,” He Jingyao said, pulling the excited woman back into his embrace, “He just had his own selfish reasons.”
Su Zixi paused. Huo Yanhui’s selfish reasons?
She sneakily looked up at He Jingyao and whispered, “Does it have sothing to do with Ye Shutong?”
He Jingyao raised his eyebrows, “Seems like you know?”
“Yeah…” Su Zixi nodded her head, “When you’re near her, you don’t get sick either, right? Just like with , she’s another person who makes you immune…”
The man rubbed her hair, his lips curving up, “That’s right.”
Su Zixi couldn’t help biting her lip. Although she had suspected it, hearing He Jingyao’s affirmative answer still left her feeling sour.
Seeing her biting her lip in silence, He Jingyao lifted her chin, his eyes showing a tease, “Do you have sothing to say?”
“I… what could I possibly have to say,” Su Zixi put on an unconcerned air about Ye Shutong, “She’s too late anyway, you already have !”
After saying that, and not knowing where the courage ca from, she pulled down the collar of her clothing a bit, “She has everything that I have, right?”
He Jingyao’s gaze deepened, noticing the lingering ambiguous marks on her chest, marks he had made in passion last night…
Feeling his gaze heating her skin, Su Zixi beca flustered and pulled her collar tight again.
