Chapter 258: Chapter 258: The Evening Date
After getting in the car, Su Zixi fixed her gaze on him, full of intensity.
He Jingyao, as if oblivious, calmly picked up his laptop, placed it on his thighs, opened it, and started checking emails.
Su Zixi leaned over to look at emails with him, finally convinced that he was indeed just dealing with work.
Young Master He managed a multitude of tasks daily, yet he never seed too busy to pay attention to her. Watching the speed at which he browsed his emails, Su Zixi realized just how astonishing his efficiency was.
As the number of unread emails steadily decreased, Su Zixi asked again, “Jingyao, why did you co to see last night?”
He Jingyao freed one hand to ruffle her hair, “Don’t disturb.”
...
Su Zixi frowned in frustration and straightened up, pulling out her phone to check ssages.
From the corner of his eye, He Jingyao caught a glimpse of her dissatisfied profile and the corners of his mouth curved up slightly.
After playing with her phone for a while, Su Zixi got bored and her gaze involuntarily fell on him.
The weather was getting colder. He wore a V-neck sweater underneath and a dark coat over it; his serious, working appearance was unbearably sexy, exuding a heavy charm.
While Su Zixi was staring at him, her phone suddenly vibrated.
He Jingyao caught the sound and looked over at her. Feeling guilty, Su Zixi answered without checking the caller ID, saying “hello.”
“Zhixi, are you free today?” A cheerful voice ca through.
Su Zixi paused for a mont, “Auntie?”
“It’s .” Liu Minjun sounded in a good mood, “I’m taking Ziyi to an art exhibition today. She specifically ntioned you. Do you want to co along?”
Considering yesterday’s high work efficiency, Su Zixi thought she could afford to take a half-day off without affecting the progress and promptly replied, “Sure, I’m free.”
“That’s great! Where are you? I’ll pick you up in a bit.”
“No need, Auntie. Just give the address and I’ll head there directly.”
“That works too.” Liu Minjun cheerfully gave her the address before hanging up.
He Jingyao looked sowhat unexpectedly, “My mother is taking you to an art exhibition?”
Su Zixi nodded, a bit proud, “Ziyi rembers too.”
The light in He Jingyao’s eyes darkened as he said huskily, “Co here.”
Su Zixi obediently leaned over and was embraced by the man.
He pinched her chin and sucked hard on her lips, “Keep your evening free. I’ve booked a table at the restaurant.”
Su Zixi’s eyes widened.
He Jingyao gave her a aningful look, “It’s a date.”
Su Zixi’s mouth fell open.
Her silly look greatly pleased He Jingyao, and he chuckled, biting her lip again.
…
By the ti they arrived at the destination, Su Zixi was still in a daze, absentmindedly waving goodbye to him.
It wasn’t until she t up with Liu Minjun that her dizzy mind began to clear a little.
An evening date, huh…
Was it just a simple date, or did it an sothing more?
Su Zixi touched her chest, feeling her heart beat a little faster with excitent.
At the entrance to the art exhibition, Liu Minjun looked at her with a smile, “Jingyao brought you here, didn’t he?”
Su Zixi nodded shyly.
Liu Minjun laughed, “That kid is getting better and better. Let’s go, we’ll head in. Ziyi is already inside.”
…
The exhibition featured mostly works by renowned modern and contemporary artists. There was no need for tickets; it was invitation-only by the organizers, which is why there were few people inside.
