Chapter 310: Chapter 186: The Captured Beastn

Lulayo Forest.

O’Neill and Lucas, leading the Beastman Group, were resting within.

The two had been on the move ever since they t up.

Seeing that they had covered half the distance, everyone was a bit tired. They ca upon an appropriate place to rest, so they stopped to regroup and also to discuss the upcoming journey.

Their number totaled several hundred Beastn, including quite a few Old Beastn and beastman cubs.

Within the territory of the Beastman Kingdom, they could swagger around without worry; nobody would co looking for trouble. However, it was a different story in the Human Clan Kingdom.

The status of the Human Race on the Stan Continent did not an they could underestimate Human strength. So relatively powerful territories were able to secretly capture Beastn as slaves, especially near the borders where Beastn and cubs often went missing. Everyone knew the score.

They were aware that Delisha City, not far from here, was especially notorious for capturing Beastn, a leading large city. Even if they engaged in this trade, the major cities of the Beastman Kingdom wouldn’t start a major conflict over it, because… the losses would outweigh the gains.

“We’re about to enter the territory of Delisha City. As long as we get through successfully, we shouldn’t have any big problems,” Lucas stated, looking at the map they had drawn.

“Is there a chance we’ll encounter people from Delisha City?” O’Neill inquired.

He had traveled all this way with his wife and children to Hope Village, and it certainly wasn’t to deliver goods to other Humans.

“Our route is fairly concealed, and it’s not the dry season now. They won’t be searching for Beastn in this area. It shouldn’t be a problem,” Lucas responded calmly.

Knowing what Delisha City was capable of, could he not understand the precautions needed for departure?

“That’s good,” O’Neill nodded, unable to deny that having Lucas as their crafty strategist ant he could lead the whole group without wracking his brain. It really was the perfect arrangent.

“Get everyone so food! We’ll set off after a good al and drink,” Lucas instructed directly.

“Ptui, ptui! What do you an ‘set off’?” O’Neill retorted sharply, “Have you forgotten? Those people often tell the Demon Beasts ‘grandpa will send you on your way’ when they’re about to kill them; ‘on your way’ ans sending off to death. Better not to use that phrase in the future.”

“…Got it,” Lucas said, resigned. O’Neill sure had picked up that brainwashing quickly.

Subsequently, O’Neill organized the troops to start cooking.

On their return, they had deliberately purchased a good amount of seasonings as well as instant noodles and the like.

These were most convenient for their rest stops.

Especially with the seasonings, they could cook with whatever was at hand. The roasted at sprinkled with it tasted absolutely delicious.

In no ti, the air was filled with the fragrant aroma.

O’Neill was also preparing food for his family.

Now a squad leader, he received 1 Gold Coin from his territory, along with so bonuses. Although most of the resources obtained from killing Demon Beasts had to be turned over to the territory, his overall inco in Hope Village was not low.

At first, he had been a little stingy, but later on, he completely let go – after all, he couldn’t spend the full amount he was earning.

“Father, here,” O’Neill said, passing the first bowl of cooked noodles to his father, Fork.

Fork took the noodles directly and ate with a trace of joy on his face. He hadn’t expected to one day taste sothing so delicious.

His smile twisted the scar occupying half his face.

O’Neill felt a twinge of sadness watching this.

His father had been a fierce warrior in his youth, providing a comfortable life for him because of it.

But after an accident left him injured, it was no longer easy to fight Demon Beasts, and many hunting groups stopped wanting his father.

Fortunately, by that ti, O’Neill had grown up and was able to support the family.

His father, though, felt he was a burden and several tis suggested living in the wild on his own.

Everyone knew that when Old Beastn spoke of living in the wild, it really ant going off to die, to avoid being a drag on their family.

Naturally, O’Neill refused; he could still support his family, even if it wasn’t as lavish an existence as before.

So when the sudden opportunity for employnt ca, he chose “yes” without hesitation, made his arrangents at ho, and then left.

In retrospect, it had been the right choice.

As he reminisced about the past, O’Neill doled out food to his mother, his wives, and his children, one after another.
