… in the hindsight, not being part of that group would an her survival rate would be higher than those planning to ambush the S-rankers.

'This is safer.' She consoled herself, watching as the Kobold marched towards the capital.

The humanoid-dog monsters obeyed her commands, though mostly because of their leader, Kurna, ordering them to do so.

"Siege the capital! Do not let anyone escape!" she ordered, focusing on destroying the last bastion in Vern Duchy.

Creating a flying familiar, in the shape of on owl, the Witch send it to the sky, using its sight to see what resistance remained in the capital.

"A group of A-rankers remained." She deduced, seeing them facing multiple B-rank Kobolds, and winning.

Though, it is a novelty to see female-only A-rankers.

'They should be the guards of the Duchess.' Learning whatever she could about the Duchy is sothing she did when she was given command of this side of the invasion.

The Duchess were married to the Duke of Vern, emphasize of were. Normally, she would be appointed as a regent, ensuring the throne secured for her eldest son.

However, due to her combat ability and leadership, the King put her on the throne of the Duchy instead, allowing her to rule while holding the title of Duchess.

'A strong opponent.' The Duchess is widely considered as the strongest warrior of Vern Duchy, and among the 10 strongest A-rankers in Ravus Kingdom and its vassals.

She doubted she could last even a minute to the A-rankers.

'Fortunately, I don't need to fight her.' She just ordered the A-rank Kobolds to fight the terrifyingly powerful, pushing her to the brink of exhaustion before taking her down.

'Master would love to claim and have his wicked ways with her,' lion could not help but have her thought fell into the gutters, as her imagination run wild at what the Demon Lord would do to the Duchess.

Duchess Carina stared at the monsters in front of her with cold gaze, her blue eyes giving withering stare to the monsters.

The monsters, even A-rankers, trembled under her sight.

Not wasting anyti, the brunette swing her sword at the nearest monsters. The A-rank Kobold, a Raging Kobold if she rembered it correctly, whimpered in pain before it failed, the monster bisected at his stomach.

Along with it, two other Kobolds, this ti Ferocious Kobold, fell as well. The sight of three monsters being cut down in a single strike caused them to fell fear.

She could see it, how they let out trembling breath, borderline whimpering, how they took a few step back, slowly, trying to not get her attention.

Walking towards them, Carina carelessly step on the bodies of the Kobold, her tal plated boot covered in red, a contrast to the black fur of the dead Kobold.

She pointed her sword at them, quickly sending them into a mad dash.

Letting the monsters run for a few more seconds, Carina took flight, moving in a burst of speed that would leave even her fellow A-rankers in awe.

Instantly, she get behind one of the Kobold and pierced its heart with a single flick of her wrist. Following that, she chased after them, taking the monsters that faced her before with precision and speed, quickly leaving behind of area devoid of life except for hers.

Despite defeating a group of powerful Kobold, including several A-rankers, the Duchess did not stop frowning.

"There are too many of them." She said to herself.

The attack took her by surprise as few days ago, everything was fine, until it stop being fine. She did not know how the monsters get close to her capital. The only thing she could do was make a guess, with said guess being simultaneous attacks were launched all over the Duchy.

If so, it's likely the rest of the Duchy were lost to the monsters. Even if 90 percent of the A-rankers were present at the capital, the remaining 10 percent can easily walk through the scattered forces of the Duchy. Especially with the lack of A-rankers in the rest of her Duchy.

'The be- no, only way to defeat the monsters would be by cutting the head of the snake.' She corrected herself.

Carina was not delusional enough to think she could turn the tide on her own, but killing the leaders might give the Duchy the break it need.

She hoped with the ti she bought, the Kingdom will send aid, reclaiming the lost part of her territory.

Calming herself, the Duchess of Vern Duchy looked around, trying to find the leader of the monsters, while praying that she would have a chance to beat it.

As she seek the leader, her eyes laid on several out-of-place people. A group of won in scantily clad clothing looking around, … giving orders.

She narrowed her eyes, as she found the leader, or at least the puppet master behind the monster invasion.

Leaping from the top of the wall, Carina landed gracefully, before sprinting straight at the group of won, all while slicing any monsters that get too close.

As she get closer, the won noticed her, and went on a panic run. Running in all direction, as the monsters tried to cover and protect them.

'Not on my watch.' While she cannot kill them all, she could at least kill the leader among the won.

Her eyes stopped at the strongest won, exuding power equal to hers, albeit weaker.

She closed the gap, dispatching the Kobolds with ease, to the horror of the woman. And, with a single swipe of her blade, bisected her by the stomach.

As the Duchess of Vern unleash a deadly strike at the leading Witch, a Demon observed from a distance.

Soon, the Demon's body collapse on itself, contorting in manners that should not be possible. That was not the end though, as the Demon soon returned back to its previous figure, except for few minor details.

It's look had transford, now having Alros' look, along with his body. With it, terrifying Aura rolled out of the Demon's body, the Demon Lord staring at the Duchess with angered gaze
