"Looks like it's started over there too?"

Liushina grinned as she watched the trendous explosion erupting from the Abyss, then turned toward Cardelina, the otherworld Great Demon screaming like her lungs were being torn apart before her.

"Does it hurt that much? Should've dodged it then."

The witch taunted the Great Demon as she lightly flicked her finger.

CRACK!

A single line appeared in the air above, following her finger's movent.

The space split open along that line and-

SLASH!

A monster's head with apocalyptic properties burst out and instantly devoured Cardelina's entire body.

CRUNCH! CRUNCH!

Horrible sounds erged from inside the monster's mouth.

But-

BOOM!

The monster's head exploded into pieces as Cardelina burst out, a hole pierced through the center of her chest.

"Huff, huff!"

The Great Demon glared at Liushina while breathing heavily.

Though the hole in her chest kept trying to close, Rain's lingering lightning continuously prevented it from healing.

"You damn bastards... Attacking with tricks like this?"

Cardelina ground out these words as she spread her arms wide and forcefully gripped the air.

CRUNCH!

The surrounding space crumpled and was sucked into her hands before releasing terrifying shockwaves in all directions.

Her authority of "Contraction" had fully activated.

Rain's strike that had shattered her heart had dealt trendous damage, and Cardelina knew she couldn't fight for long.

Thus she intended to use her full power without holding back from now on.

"Isn't it your fault for falling for it so stupidly?"

Liushina mocked as her form vanished and-

Instantly appeared right in front of the Great Demon.

Using her now perfectly mastered authority of the apocalypse, she had turned the space between them into "the End."

The witch's hand, stained purple so dark it appeared black, shot toward Cardelina's throat.

At a speed far transcending mortal perception.

However-

"You know what?"

CRACK!

The mont Cardelina's hand clenched, Liushina's head and heart vanished without warning as they contracted into nothing.

"Even if I'm injured, there's no way I'd lose to the likes of you."

Her authority of "Contraction" had activated.

This authority didn't just destroy the physical body but annihilated the very essence of existence - there should have been no possibility of survival.

"Well, you probably can't hear

anymore. Show a small opening and imdiately fall for it..."

But before Cardelina could finish-

"There's sothing you're misunderstanding."

A voice that absolutely shouldn't exist reached her ears.

"...!"

The Great Demon's eyes trembled.

They reflected Liushina's head - with only the lower jaw remaining - grinning eerily.

"No matter what state you're in, you can't defeat ."

The reason Liushina had deliberately hidden one of her greatest strengths - "Regeneration" - while desperately dodging or blocking Cardelina's attacks until now.

It was to set up one decisive strike that her opponent absolutely couldn't escape.

"What-!"

Before Cardelina's shocked voice could continue-

GRAB!

The witch's outstretched hand seized the Great Demon's throat.

"Aah..."

THUD!

---

Without the "King" even doing anything after turning around, the Agnes Knights and Twilight Sword behind Zion began collapsing.

Though they were warriors so strong it was hard to find their equals, they were still human - still mortal.

Thus they couldn't help but crumble before the presence of the "King" who had already attained immortality.

Zion ignored the fallen knights and stared at the "Demon King" who had turned to face him.

A man in his mid-twenties with jet-black hair and eyes like an abyss.

His appearance hadn't changed at all from when Zion had seen him in that past dream.

"I've been waiting for you to co."

The Demon King smiled lightly as he addressed Zion.

Though he appeared completely different from before, the King was certain the man before him was the Black Star Emperor he had waited so long for.

That ominous and alien darkness emanating from him.

Only one being in this world could wield such darkness.

Zion smirked at the Demon King and responded:

"It shows."

"How was it? Was it difficult getting here?"

"It was tough finding you when you were hiding like a rat so deep inside."

"Hahaha!"

The Demon King laughed despite the insult.

Zion's unchanged atmosphere and way of speaking truly delighted him.

After laughing for a while, the King spoke:

"For countless ages beyond counting."

He began approaching Zion with slow steps.

"I have destroyed many worlds."

So of those worlds had little power, so resisted fiercely, but the result was always the sa.

"In all those worlds, I was despair and destruction itself."

He was the executor carrying out the fate of worlds already destined for destruction.

That was who the Demon King - who he - was.

"Thus I never failed. No, I could not fail."

The fate of worlds was already determined and could not be changed, so the concept of failure could not exist.

"But when I t you, all of that beca distorted."

The King took another step toward Zion as he continued:

"I was defeated by you and failed to destroy this world."

The King rembered.

The Emperor's figure completely denying the world's predetermined fate and driving him into endless despair.

And his own pathetic form, completely subjugated and waiting only for death.

Especially that humiliation when the Emperor deliberately let him live and told him to return stronger!

"So I thought about what I needed to do to return everything to its proper course."

There had only been one conclusion from the start.

"Kill the Eternal Emperor Aurelion Khan Agnes."

The King instinctively felt.

Unless he defeated the Emperor, he would have to live forever in defeat and despair.

Thus even though he had countless opportunities to destroy worlds afterward, he had continued waiting.

Only to et the Eternal Emperor who would reappear in the world.

And now he was finally reunited with the Emperor he had waited so long for.

"Today, here, I will take your life and conclude everything, reaching part of the Great Fate."

RUMBLE!

The Demon King's presence, which had been calm as a lake's surface until now, began churning.

Then-

"And I shall reclaim my true na of 'Despair.'"

The mont those final words left the King's lips-

BOOM!

The Abyss itself where the Demon King and Zion stood transford into countless spears and struck at Zion.

His form instantly vanished among the sea of spears, each imbued with the property of destruction.

A brief mont of silence followed.

Then-

WHOOSH!

It was fla.

A pitch-black, alien fla that existed nowhere else.

Like darkness itself burning, black flas exploded outward and began devouring all the spears of destruction.

Simultaneously-

A single line of fla was drawn toward the Demon King through the lting space.

It was Zion, his entire body from head to toe wrapped in black flas.

Zion knew.

That Muspelheim's flas alone couldn't block the Demon King's attacks.

So he had denied the flas' original properties and filled that void with Black Star Force, resulting in these black flas.

His judgnt had just been proven correct through their initial exchange.

"Haha! Show , Emperor!"

The King of Despair shouted as he watched Zion instantly close the distance.

Despite his attack having no effect, he smiled even more brightly than before.

CRUNCH!

Following the King's will, isolated space instantly contracted around Zion's center.

He intended to annihilate everything within by reducing the space itself to zero.

But just before that space could completely vanish-

WHOOSH!

Zion's form disappeared and reappeared behind the Demon King.

Judging that simple distance denial wouldn't work, Zion had montarily denied part of the world itself to escape.

Eclaxia, spraying ominous darkness from Zion's hand, swung without hesitation toward the King's neck.

As if he had expected this, the King imdiately turned and extended one hand.

Then ca their clash.

---!

Sound vanished as vision turned white-hot.

The world tore apart as thousands of shockwaves erupted.

All beings and concepts caught in them distorted and vanished as the world's laws began breaking down.

Their clash continued even in this world where perception itself beca impossible.

WHOOSH!

The Demon King laughed silently in the soundless world as he used one of his traits or authorities - "Change" - to create a sun made of the Abyss.

This black sun with the property of "never extinguishing" instantly expanded and began burning everything around it.

But-

Zion's form, which had imdiately erased the sun by denying the very concept of "never extinguishing," shot toward the Demon King once more.

Severance.

Following with a slash.

Though Zion's sword strike could cut all perceivable connections and grains, it couldn't reach the Demon King.

"Even having seen it before, your power still amazes ."

CRUNCH!

Infinitely expanded space absorbed Zion's sword strike instead, erging from where the King's fingertip lightly touched the air before him.

'He's definitely different.'

Zion thought as he watched this with cold eyes.

His "Severance" just now was truly top-tier swordsmanship incorporating concept denial from 8 stars of Black Star Force.

It shouldn't have been blocked so simply.

Especially not by the Demon King who had been defeated by his past self.

This could only an one thing.

'Then...'

Just as this thought crossed Zion's mind as his eyes briefly glanced at Eclaxia-

"Emperor."

The Demon King spoke as they exchanged attacks.

"Your power hasn't changed at all."

His voice had dropped lower than before.

"Still more ominous than anything else, still more overwhelming than anything else."

The King continued speaking as his hand, wrapped in manifested fate of destruction, clashed against Zion's sword.

"But do you know?"

CRACK!

At that mont, spider web-like cracks began spreading across Eclaxia's blade where it t the King's hand.

"That alone isn't enough to defeat who I am now."

Then-

SHATTER!

Following the cracks, Eclaxia's blade completely shattered.

The blade fragnts slowly fell to the ground.

"For I have already ascended to the seat of myth."

A voice mixed with lantation and rage.

The Demon King slowly extended one hand through endlessly slowing ti caused by his trait of "Change."

"How disappointing."

The mont his hand fully extended toward Zion holding only Eclaxia's hilt-

BOOM!

Zion's form vanished from that spot as he was sent flying backward.
