Chapter 148: Chapter 149 The Birth of a Pig-Farming Tycoon

When Lide returned to Earth, Harrison issued a command decree from Lide — to construct a breeding farm.

In the Bloodline hierarchy, a higher-level Bloodline had absolute authority over a lower-level Bloodline.

Third-level Bloodlines had to unconditionally obey commands from second-level Bloodlines.

The strict structure made the efficiency of the entire City Hall astonishingly high.

The command that Lide had decreed moved with the fastest speed to the lower ranks.

Before long, news from the newly established departnt under the Agriculture Division of City Hall — the Breeding Departnt, announced the recruitnt of staff through the publicity departnts that previously had never been disclosed. The news spread throughout Dawn City.

...

This announcent excited many residents.

Working at City Hall ant stability and Glory, a job usually reserved for noble gentry.

Because of the high salary, job stability, significant authority, and honorable status, a permanent position at City Hall had beco the most coveted job among the residents of Dawn City.

Who wouldn’t want to be in charge of Dawn City’s food supply as a mber of the Support Team? Or maintain the order of Dawn City as part of the Security Team?

People always yearn for a better life, so every City Hall recruitnt drive sparked widespread excitent.

Moreover, the salary for this newly recruited position was as high as 12 silver pukes per month, equivalent to the highest-paid mbers of the Security Team.

The key difference this ti was the unique requirent for the job — the sole requirent was to know how to breed pigs.

Yes, they weren’t required to raise Demon Beasts or any other terrifying creatures, just pigs!!

By the Goddess above, this must be Kachar City Lord’s rcy on them.

Many people began to get excited.

They might not excel at other tasks, but they knew pig farming well. Pigs were common livestock, and many had experience raising them.

In no ti, the flood of applicants nearly broke the threshold of the Agriculture Departnt’s door.

Following the expansion of City Hall, various departnts such as the Agriculture Departnt, Security Team, and Support Team had been relocated to surrounding estates, now possessing their own offices.

“Sir, I once helped birth piglets in my own ho, choose , I can do it…”

“Sir, pick ! What does he amount to?! What’s so great about birthing? I once raised three pigs for the nobles and they died, I have experience, sir…”

“Pah, what are you? I’ve had ten pigs die!! Sir, let register, I know how to handle dead pigs…”

“…”

Once more, the ordinarily tranquil Dawn City began to vigorously spin into action due to Lide’s command.

Even Harrison was no exception; upon receiving the blueprints from Lide, the second-level Bloodline in charge of City Hall was astounded.

The infrastructure for the breeding farm, revolutionary by the standards of the age, caused Harrison to continuously marvel. If not for his unwavering loyalty, it might have overflowed then and there.

With excited anticipation, he summoned a few experienced craftsn from the construction departnt, brandishing the blueprints with a boastful air.

This prompted further admiration from the craftsn, who extolled Harrison with flattery. Only after Harrison, beaming, revealed the real creator did the craftsn, after another round of praise, begin to venture out to select a site.

After three busy days, the construction departnt recomnded a location for the farm on the east side of the newly-nad Moonlight Plain, near the mountains.

To the east was the downwind side, and conveniently, there was a small stream flowing down from the mountainside with a substantial current.

After Lide examined the site, he confird it decisively; his command was the direction forward for the Bloodline.

Once the location for the breeding farm was determined, Dawn City imdiately buzzed into action.

Five One-eyed Giants who were mining were recalled to chisel away on the mountainside, providing building materials for the farm.

Dylan mounted the Magic Language Bats with his Bloodline to catch wild pigs on the plain.

All the Bloodline at leisure, save for those constructing the Mage Tower, were diverted to the farm construction, and several thousand temporary workers were also hired to assist.

And so, Lide’s sudden inspiration for a breeding farm broke ground within a few short days.

Concentrated effort can achieve great things. Under his personal oversight, the construction pace of the farm was nothing short of astonishing.

The adage ‘a day of change’ didn’t do it justice; what hadn’t existed the previous morning had taken shape by the next, and by the following morning, the third building was already up.

As ti passed, Lide even reassigned the Bloodline from the city walls to accelerate the construction.

Thousands of workers and 300 Bloodlines worked day and night for a month, raising an impressive cluster of buildings from the ground.

A total of 30 massive rectangular barns, 4 ren high, 30 ren wide, and 60 ren long,

The foundation was laid by One-eyed Giants using bluestone, and all the rafters were made of solid oak,

thick layers of broadleaved maple leaves covered the top of the factory building, these black leaves have an excellent waterproof function, and can be used for nearly ten years without damage.

Such a spacious factory building could on average accommodate 300 pig demons each.

The entire breeding farm with 30 factory buildings could raise nearly ten thousand pig demons at full capacity.

In this world with low productivity, such news was astonishing indeed.

Lide was very satisfied when he saw the building complex before his eyes.

The breeding farm established under his watch was entirely modeled after modern farming practices.

Pigsties, feed rooms, and manure pits, among other facilities, were all included.

He had already recruited a staggering 200 employees for this farm, and under his strict order, 20 mbers of the Bloodline must be stationed at the breeding farm.

Although the Bloodline were not adept at rearing pig demons, they could perform so actions exclusive to a magical world, such as disinfecting with fireballs, clearing manure pits with Mage’s Hand…

Pig demons were very suitable for breeding, the growth cycle for pigs on Earth was about 6 months, from birth to market weight in about 180 to 200 days.

But things were different in Glory, not only had human physical fitness increased, but the ordinary pig demons had also beco stronger.

According to the descriptions of those with breeding experience, pig demons could grow to 300 pounds in about 3 to 4 months, faster even than pigs artificially fattened with hormones on Earth.

Assuming a 4-month cycle, the farm could raise 9,000 pig demons at full capacity, producing 3 rounds a year, totaling 27,000 heads.

This was more than sufficient to et the expansion needs of the Magic Language Bats.

Lide, after doing the math, was very satisfied. He wasn’t greedy; he knew that the productivity of the farm wouldn’t be so high at the beginning.

The establishnt of a breeding farm inevitably begins with accumulating experience and training a large number of experienced workers.

Once the workers are proficient, further expansion could follow in the future.

After all, this land belonged to him, whether establishing a pig farm or a graveyard, no one would dare to utter an extra word.

“Kachar City Lord, pig demons are very easy to raise. They eat anything, grass, tree roots; as long as they have sothing to munch on, they’ll thrive…”

Lide walked into the first factory building where already hundreds of pig demons were kept, brought over from Moonlight Plain by Dylan.

Beside him, a middle-aged man, over fifty and dressed in a grey linen garb, was enthusiastically explaining with a smile.

“Though the growth rate of wild pig demons might not match that of specially cultivated ones, the wild ones are easier to rear and seldom fall ill. Plus, they grow to a larger size once matured…”

As he listened to the middle-aged man’s coherent explanations, Lide patted his shoulder.

This man was Dawn City’s most experienced pig demon breeder.

This commoner, nad Randy, had once managed a pig demon farm for a Noble and reared pig demons for twenty years. After an examination, Lide appointed this capable swineherd as the first manager of Dawn City’s breeding farm.

This honorable mission made Randy express the utmost respect towards Lide and he readily accepted.

“Randy, you’ve done well. I’m leaving the breeding farm in your hands.

I hope you can quickly familiarize yourself with these wild pigs and then organize the rearing thods for pig demons into a handbook. I need to cultivate more talent.”

“In the future, there will certainly be more than one breeding farm in Dawn City. I hope the farm under your control can supply 50,000, 100,000 or even 200,000 to 500,000 pig demons a year.

If there ever cos a day when you do produce 500,000 pig demons, I will personally confer upon you the noble title of Knight of Dawn City.”

Producing 500,000 pig demons, for a farm that was only just built, sounded like an unattainable dream.

But Lide’s hollow promise left Randy in a daze.

Great Goddess above, what was Kachar City Lord saying?

If I do well at raising pig demons, he will grant a noble title in the future?!

If it weren’t for the fact that Kachar City Lord clearly disliked n getting too close, he would have knelt to kiss the man’s boots.

A noble title, that was an incredibly prestigious status!!

Could he, a re pig raiser, a lowly commoner, truly have a chance to receive such an honorable reward?

Randy’s hands were shaking. At that mont, he swore in his heart that no matter the cost, he would achieve the goal of rearing half a million pig demons!

What Lide didn’t know was the profound impact his morale-boosting words had on Randy.

Thus, a new pig breeding magnate was born.
