Chapter 123: Chapter 123 The Enviable First Embrace

Twelve people, step by step, ascended the platform specially constructed for this grand event under the watchful eyes of all present.

The twelve, clad in splendid robes, bore no resemblance to their disheveled appearance on the streets a few days earlier.

They were now heroes respected by countless people, soon to beco noble mbers of the Holy Light Bloodline.

Honor had each of them puffing out their chests.

The twelve approached Lide and bowed deeply, hands on chest.

Lide smiled in satisfaction.

“Your bravery has given a sense of unparalleled resilience.

My people, to commorate this magnificent day, I have decided to establish this date as the Dawn Festival.”

“From now on, the first final day of Frost Month each year will witness a grand morial ceremony in Dawn City.”

“The Dawn Festival is established for the residents of Dawn City, in honor of heroes who have erged from amongst our own.”

“And now, I shall bestow upon you the title of Twelve Heroes of Dawn, and award you with the highest honor of Dawn City—the Heart of Dawn.”

After Lide’s ringing proclamation, under the envious stares of the crowd whose eyes turned red, two girls behind him ca forward, dragging trays padded with pure white cloth.

On the trays were twelve ticulously crafted dals.

Lide personally adorned each of the twelve.

Each dal pinned elicited a massive cheer from the crowd below.

Oli’s blood heated in his veins to almost an uncontrollable degree as Lide pinned the dal to his chest—the mont he had strived for.

After he had co to regard Lide as the guide to his beliefs, powerful energy surged within him, making him one of the twelve.

And now, he had obtained what he desired—to beco a noble of the Holy Light Bloodline!

At this mont, his belief stood before him, and the feeling was indescribable.

Lide, too, sensed sothing different. He had naturally heard about Oli these past few days—the young man closely associated with Recker had beco his fervent believer, which was indeed incredible.

He patted Oli on the shoulder, full of encouragent.

“Oli, I know you; you’ve been doing really well in the Security Team. Your hard work has not been in vain; I congratulate you on your bravery here.

I hope you will continue to make greater contributions to Dawn City, to the Holy Light Bloodline. Keep it up, I have faith in you.”

Oli’s eyes reddened, and he nearly cried aloud. What could be more joyous than being acknowledged by his own belief and spiritual pillar?

“I am willing to give my life for you, Kachar City Lord, you are the guide of my life!”

His voice was filled with resolution and firmness.

If anyone else had said this, Lide would have simply smiled it off—everyone could speak ceremonially, but he was sowhat moved by his own fervent believer.

He patted Oli’s shoulder again.

“I believe you.”

Lide went on to encourage each of the other eleven people. He was pleased with these humans who would soon be his own.

One could only imagine how resilient their spirits and how strong their wills were to have reached this stage; even if their Talents were not that high, he felt no loss.

“The bestowal ceremony is complete.”

“Now, I officially grant to the twelve heroes of dawn the noble Bloodline of the Holy Light Bloodline.

Everyone, cheer for them~”

Once again, the crowd plunged into frenzied shouts and cheers.

What followed was the most sacred mont.

The bestowal of the Bloodline.

This scene, only found in legends, filled the residents of Dawn City with both fear and curiosity.

In human legends, vampires could turn others into vampires by biting them.

Now, this extrely secretive act, wrapped in countless legends, was about to play out before them—how could they not be thrilled?

“How can one beco a Holy Light Bloodline?” “Is it like the legends say, biting the neck?”

“Hiss, maybe we shouldn’t watch, I’m scared.”

“Heh, are you new here? What’s there to be scared of? The Holy Light Bloodline isn’t like the vampires you’re imagining. Relax, with the Kachar City Lord here, what’s there to worry about?”

“I’m so excited. I really want to know how to beco a Holy Light Bloodline.”

“…”

Those who arrived later were still sowhat fearful, but those who ca earlier had no fear left, only curiosity. Everyone wanted to know how to beco a Holy Light Bloodline.

Lide had put a lot of effort into this.

Since all twelve n were male, he had specifically assigned twelve female Bloodline mbers to perform the first embrace on these n.

When the twelve won, dressed in mage robes and exuding elegance that surpassed that of noble ladies, took the stage, the crowd fell silent.

They were stunningly beautiful.

Many young n unconsciously swallowed their saliva a few tis.

Being bitten on the neck by such girls didn’t seem like such a bad thing.

It wasn’t just the crowd below; all twelve n felt a bashful excitent. All the young, strong, and unmarried n remaining to the end were deeply attracted by the noble Bloodline ladies before them.

The Bloodline’s attractiveness was nearly at its peak. Bloodline mbers naturally had genes that could alter their appearance. The longer one was a Bloodline mber, the more beautiful they beca.

The allure of the Bloodline that could match Elves hardly needed to be ntioned.

“Under the gaze of all the residents of Dawn City, Hunter, Oli… you twelve will be bestowed with the Holy Light Bloodline.

The Bloodline ceremony now begins.”

Swoosh, girls holding flowers below pulled back the bed already prepared and laden with fresh blooms, and the twelve n lay down one after another.

The maidens standing around began to hum an unknown song, yet the tone was mysteriously sacred.

Under everyone’s gaze, the twelve Bloodline ladies gently lifted their wrists and bit down.

Alas~

A wave of inexplicable sighs arose; it seed the lack of neck-biting had left the crowd slightly disappointed.

However, the critical part was yet to co. After the Bloodline was infused, the Bloodline ladies departed.

The twelve n, now infused with the Bloodline, silently fell into a slumber on the bed of flowers.

At this mont, the bonfire in the center of the square was lit.

And at Lide’s special arrangent, a huge celebration erupted when the 12 new Bloodline mbers awoke.

Free food was brought out to the square, bread sared with honey, and even grilled ats that many hadn’t seen in ages.

Wine paired with food, plus the atmosphere’s enhancent.

Even those in the crowd who had been sowhat reserved and shy joined the rambunctious party in the warm atmosphere.

This process that initially seed grim and terrifying in human folklore had now beco a jolly sing-along, where people happily danced, drank, and feasted.

Though still a transformation into Bloodline mbers, the sensory experience for the people was completely different.

This was far from the horrifying vampire transformation of legends; this was pure enjoynt.

To beco a Bloodline mber, not only was there the noble and beautiful Bloodline lady’s kiss, but also maidens bearing flowers, transforming into a Bloodline mber amidst the admiration of thousands.

Scary? Not at all.

Countless people felt like they had eaten lemons, so envious; I’d take that kind of scary any day.

To hell with legends.
