"Rohan, cadet. Could you tell us a bit about the dungeon? What kind of dungeon was it?"
"The dungeon...," Rohan trailed off, glancing at Ichinose.
Since it was ti to share the information, he wanted to exchange at least so minimal signal with Ichinose.
But 'Uinose' was too busy hiding her red face after being called "Yui" once.
She didn't have the energy to look up now.
She couldn't even pay attention to Momo's conversation.
"I'm sorry if I brought up unpleasant mories for you, Rohan cadet. However, there are so details that are better not ntioned in public."
"I understand," Rohan replied.
"Thank you. It's nice that you understand so quickly," Momo said, clearly relieved. Before visiting the Public Safety Bureau, she was planning to check the experiences of both of them.
The public's gossip can be far sharper than imagined and could hurt her delicate daughter.
Rohan wetted his dry lips with cold water. Then, he began carefully assembling his sentences as his mind worked.
"First, I want to ntion that there wasn't... hmm, let start over."
He was confident it had been rather innocent for a dungeon involving succubi, but it felt awkward to say there was nothing at all, considering that he was awakened from a charm by Ichinose's kiss.
"Ichinose and I... no, Yui and I ended up in a place where the night demons live."
"!"
The ntion of "night demons" made several people react.
Momo couldn't hide her shock as she wiped away the smile she had been holding. Shion and Clara, who had been quietly listening, froze like statues.
Noah was the only one still eating calmly at the table.
"..." Ichinose's eyebrows twitched violently, her arms crossed.
She was suppressing the questions she wanted to ask, maintaining a miraculous silence, but veins bulged on the back of her hand.
"You ran into so tough monsters. Was it an incubus?" Momo asked, quickly regaining her composure and asking in a soft voice.
Under the table, she placed her hand on her husband's thigh, trying to calm herself.
"No. It was a world where succubi live. Husk and Prezer Dol were all male," Rohan answered.
Momo nodded, understanding, and took a sip from her teacup.
Rohan knew what Momo and Ichinose were curious about. He was aware of the direct questions they would want to ask.
But now was not the ti to give straightforward answers.
While waiting for 'Uinose' to gather herself, Rohan decided to delve deeper into the background of the dungeon, hoping to divert attention.
"The dungeon we fell into was mainly a forest, and it was a world without sunlight. The sky was tinted red and purple, and there was a sweet sll in the air."
"Sounds like a fascinating place. Scholars would be thrilled to hear about it," Momo said.
"In the forest, there were bizarre plants we'd never seen before, and black roses were in full bloom. The river flowing there had an unknown violet hue," Rohan continued.
If you are reading this translation anywhere other than Novelight or SilkRoadTL, it has been stolen.
Momo visualized the background based on Rohan's description. When she imagined the succubi, the image beca quite clear. It felt like she was there in person.
"What about food and water? Dungeons often have a different ti flow, and if Yui's words are true, you stayed for quite a while. I don't think you ate or drank anything suspicious while fighting, though..." Momo asked.
"Luckily, I always carry food and water with . We survived by sharing those," Rohan answered.
It wasn't a lie—he had no reason to feel guilty. Thus, he spoke confidently.
"I see. It must have been a blessing that you were prepared, Rohan cadet," Momo said. She no longer pressed him further on the matter, rely advancing the conversation.
No one else at the table interrupted the conversation.
"After we fell, we encountered Husk packs every ti we moved. We also ca across succubi who couldn't communicate, but we quickly dealt with them and took over their dwellings," Rohan continued.
"Earlier, you ntioned Prezer Dol—was it just those non-communicating individuals?" Momo asked.
While Momo was not as powerful as Ichinose or Juyeon, she was a capable individual. She had once served in a high-ranking advisory position in the Samhwa Nation, using her sharp intellect. She also understood the unique difficulties of dealing with succubi and incubi, having researched dinsional rifts.
"No. We encountered three individuals who could communicate. After defeating the last one, we found Monolith in the mansion and returned," Rohan answered.
"Three...? It might not have been a place where all the succubi lived. Normally, when a large rift opens, dozens of communicative individuals would appear..." Momo remarked.
"I consider myself lucky. I think it might have been a secluded village, sothing like that," Rohan said, offering his perspective.
"Interesting view, Rohan cadet," Momo said, nodding thoughtfully as she recalled the information.
The image of the succubi dungeon was inherently sinister, but there were no troubling details so far.
Now, the real question.
Momo turned her gaze to Rohan, preparing to ask sothing important from a parent's perspective.
"Rohan cadet."
"Yes?"
"Was there nothing between you and Yui?"
"..."
Uinose's mother, Momo, was hard to read.
Rohan wasn’t sure how to interpret her question, and whether the matter Ichinose referred to earlier was relevant here was still uncertain.
As Rohan hesitated to answer, Shion and Clara held their breath, their eyes wide in anticipation.
To the girls in love, even a mont felt like an eternity, but the answer finally ca.
"I don't think it would ease your concerns if I, soone with no credibility, kept talking about it. I believe it's best if Yui tells you herself, and that will build trust," Rohan said.
"You're right. Asking you alone at a al like this isn't quite proper. And to correct myself, your credibility is not lacking," Momo replied, glancing at her daughter, who was still looking down.
Gently, she patted Yui's head.
Startled, the girl awoke from her daydreams.
"Mother?"
"Yui, it's a al, you know?"
"I'm sorry..."
"Was there anything special in the dungeon? I've heard so of the background from Rohan cadet."
Uinose finally opened her eyes and looked at Rohan, and for once, Ichinose's slow response made Rohan chuckle.
"Mother, what kind of special thing are you referring to?" Rohan asked.
"Well, succubi tend to be associated with unsavory images, don't they? I can't be sure, but I wonder if there was so kind of aphrodisiac in the air. Even in such an environnt, I want to hear that there were no issues," Momo said.
Momo whispered an example to Ichinose, who blushed and squird at the suggestive comnt.
"N-no, nothing like what you think!" Ichinose protested, her face turning red.
"Really? I thought I was going to beco a grandmother!" Momo teased, making Ichinose shudder at the thought.
Rohan and Ichinose both nodded in agreent that nothing like that had happened.
Ichinose's arms, previously crossed tightly, relaxed.
"Hehe..."
"Right. Rohan's ntal strength is truly impressive," Momo said, as Shion and Clara, relieved, broke into silly smiles.
While chatting, they piled food onto Rohan's plate.
"Oh, big brother...! Eat this..." Clara said, smiling.
"Rohan. Eat quickly. If you can't reach it, I'll bring it to you," Shion said.
It was a relief that nothing had happened between Ichinose and Rohan in the succubus-infested dungeon.
Others had failed to restrain their desires, looking at pictures or licking screens.
But it would be troubleso if their slow pace allowed competitors to overtake them.
"I'll eat. You both enjoy your al," Rohan said, smiling at Shion and Clara, who were being affectionate in a cute way.
Though he wanted to maintain composure, he couldn't stop the two girls from continuing their playful behavior, especially in front of Ichinose's parents.
"Rohan, what if you spill it on your sleeve?" Momo asked with a playful tone.
"You're right, sister!" Clara said with a grin.
Momo, observing Rohan's awkwardness, laughed in amusent, paying attention to her daughter’s behavior.
"..." Ichinose glared at Rohan, her lips puckered like a duck.
As the atmosphere returned to normal, Momo felt a strange flutter in her heart watching Rohan among the beautiful girls.
She wondered how long she had been watching him, but she was too caught up in the emotion to think clearly.
Suddenly, Uinose blurted out a remark, throwing logic aside.
"Still, Rohan...! Don't you think you should kiss ? Or else... you won't escape strong temptation..." she said, flustered.
The atmosphere froze instantly.
