Xiuxiu's interjection was a tily relief for the anxious won and the small boy as they suddenly felt a sigh of relief, but the sleazy man glared fiercely at Xiuxiu, giving her a look that scread 'mind your own business.'
"The gentleman hadn't complained of fatigue, but I am tired!" The man placed his hand on the small boy's shoulder and patted it, clearly showcasing his shalessness as he did not care about the glances from the people around, his thick-skinned face impenetrable.
"My dad is a soldier, and he often tells to respect the elderly and love the young when I'm outside." The small boy suddenly stood up, his little fists clenched, obviously mustering a great deal of courage, "Grandpa, are you tired? Do you want to sit here for a while?" The little guy called out to the elderly man standing nearby.
It was clear that the little guy's action was a smart move.
"No... no need, grandpa is not tired." The elderly man, seeming surprised by the small boy's words and noticing the sleazy young man's gaze turning towards him, awkwardly refused and then quickly bent down to pick up his large bag from the ground and hurriedly left the crowded area.
Seeing the old man leave, the small boy's face suddenly turned pale, and the woman sitting next to him imdiately beca tense without making a sound. Her deanor did not at all exhibit a mother's strength; rather, it seed as though she was waiting for the small boy to handle the situation himself, her hands just tightly grasping the cloth bag by the window.
"Is your dad a soldier too? Is he at the Tiger Wolf Military District up ahead?" Xiuxiu, unable to help herself, asked with a curious expression.
It seems they were military relatives visiting family!

"Auntie, how do you know about the Tiger Wolf Military District? I'm going there to find my dad. My dad is the political commissar there!" The small boy's disappointed expression faded a bit, and he looked at Xiuxiu with excitent, but he couldn't stop a slight pride from showing.
He had thought that simply ntioning his dad's profession as a soldier would make the people around not stand idly by and the shaless man next to him would restrain himself, but he was wrong—his dad's profession wasn't frightening enough.
"Auntie is also going there, and my little brother's dad is a soldier too!" Xiuxiu said with a smile, her gaze sweeping toward the sleazy young man still lingering, "Are you sure you want to bully military relatives on the train? I'm afraid you can't bear the consequences." This was both a threat and a reminder.
In this era, a soldier was still a highly respected profession. This guy openly bullying people on the train, especially military relatives, could be a big or small matter, depending on how it was handled.
"Humph! Can't I just not sit? Are military families that great?" The sleazy young man gave Xiuxiu a challenging look and then walked away nonchalantly.
Seeing the man leave, the woman and child sitting down breathed a sigh of relief. The woman gave Xiuxiu a grateful smile, and the little boy was pulled by the woman to slowly sit down, but it was clear the sensitive child struggled a bit, not big in scale, but enough to show his disgruntled rejection.
"Auntie, are you also a military relative? Are you visiting family like Nannan?" The small boy ignored the woman beside him and smiled at Xiuxiu.
He hadn't expected this justice-minded, beautiful, and gentle auntie to know about the Tiger Wolf Military District too!
"Yes! Auntie is also going to visit family," Xiuxiu answered softly, "By the way, we are almost at the station. Is soone coming to pick you up?" Xiuxiu adjusted the sleeping position of Song Chengguang in her arms as she asked. Unexpectedly, the little guy stirred awake.
"Mommy!" Song Chengguang opened his eyes and called out adorably.
Xiuxiu's heart instantly lted. This was the first ti the little one had so clearly called out the word "mom"! It was truly precious. "Oh! Is mommy's little darling hungry?" Xiuxiu touched the little one's nose and then picked him up to ask, while she took a bottle of water from her bag to feed him.
"My dad is a bit busy and didn't have ti to pick us up, but he sent soone to et us at the station. Auntie, is there soone coming to pick you and your brother up?" The little boy watched as Xiuxiu fed water to her younger brother, feeling a great liking for her, and slowly responded to her earlier question.
"My brother's dad will pick us up too." Xiuxiu smiled slightly. She had sent a telegram to Yuanhuan especially because she was afraid he might miss the train and not et them.
As soon as Song Chengguang woke up, he began smacking his lips and babbling. Hearing the word "dad" from Xiuxiu, he imdiately jumped out to assert his presence, calling out "Dad!" in his not-so-standard tone.
Xiuxiu smiled at his words, then lifted her head and continued chatting with the little boy sitting opposite her while occasionally teasing Song Chengguang in her arms.
The train was still moving slowly, but the high-hanging sun had already set. By evening, Xiuxiu and her group had arrived at their destination.
"Auntie, I don't have much luggage. Let help you carry so!" As soon as the train stopped, the little boy was full of energy. Seeing Xiuxiu struggling with several bags, he imdiately slung his own small bag over his shoulder and started helping with all his might. The two adults and two children helped each other down from the train.
…
Yuanhuan received the telegram from Xiuxiu and learned about the arrival ti of her train today, so he had co to the station an hour early with so people to wait.
"Captain, you keep an eye on our sister-in-law, and I'll take care of the political commissar's sister and child!" Xiao Gao, tasked with eting people at the station, said to Yuanhuan while stretching his neck to scan the crowd. He also kept an extra lookout for the sincere woman he was supposed to et, fearing that he might miss the people he was assigned to pick up and fail to complete the political commissar's task.
The political commissar had ntioned that his sister was in her twenties and would be accompanied by a five- or six-year-old child with a military green bag bearing the Tiger Wolf Military Region logo slung over. He was sure to be vigilant and not miss them.
"Captain, look there! That's the child with the bag the political commissar described." Xiao Gao excitedly tugged at Yuanhuan's sleeve.
Yuanhuan frowned, rescued his uniform from Xiao Gao's grasp, and cast a cold gaze toward where Xiao Gao was pointing. He was intending to catch a glimpse of the political commissar's son and sister; however, he saw a familiar pair instead.
Wasn't that his wife and son!?
"Xiuxiu!" Yuanhuan called out as he stepped forward, "Tired? Co here, let carry our son." Yuanhuan's tall figure stood in front of Xiuxiu. He looked down at his fair-skinned wife, seeing her in a soft yellow, trendy, and attractive sumr shirt. Her eyes sparkled as they looked at him, and if he didn't know he was holding his son, he could hardly recognize her as his wife.
"Yuanhuan, you're here!" Xiuxiu handed her son over to Yuanhuan's arms, relieved, then fanned herself with her hand.
The weather was nearly evening and yet it was still as hot as being in a furnace, stiflingly hot.
"Hmm! Do you have a lot of luggage?" Yuanhuan asked, his gaze shifting to Zhao Xiui and Zhao Nan, aunt and nephew.
