The third day of serving Princess Rainey went as smoothly as the previous day.

Though I had a couple of close calls where I almost tripped while serving her, and Thomas temporarily repaired her broken shoe thanks to his craftsmanship, everything else went according to plan. Any other minor accidents were also handled efficiently.

Having grown more accustod to balancing Rainey’s presence with the overall managent of the café, things ran much more smoothly than before.

“Take care, Lady Rainey.”

“...”

Nod nod.

Just like the day before, Princess Rainey spent about 30 minutes at the café before leaving. She probably could have stayed longer if she wanted, but it seed she was leaving out of consideration. The longer she stayed in one place, the more her bad luck tended to affect those around her.

Perhaps that was the very reason she had chosen to study abroad in the Argenthia Empire after coming of age in her ho kingdom of Dephrin.

‘Well, that will be over soon enough.’

In just a few months, Rainey’s bad luck would co to an end, and she would finally have a future filled with happiness. There was no need for to feel sorry for her. Of course, whether that future would be safely reached depended on that guy’s abilities.

Even if Rainey wasn’t a heroine in the main plot, saving her would provide a strong ally. Based on what I’d seen of his skills at the Pliana Coast, I trusted he would make the right choices when the ti ca.

“Another tough day, huh, Lilith?”

“You did well, too, Master Ethan.”

As the third day of work wrapped up, Ethan and I exchanged smiles, both relieved.

Antonio, who had worked three days in a row as well, comnted on Rainey’s second consecutive visit.

“Who would’ve thought the princess of Dephrin would visit again? I guess she must have liked the service yesterday.”

“Maybe she’s interested in Lilith?”

“…I doubt that, Agnes.”

…If anyone, she was likely more interested in Ethan than in , but since I was the only one who knew about their engagent, I kept my mouth shut. Neither Ethan nor Princess Rainey had spoken about it, and it wasn’t my place to bring it up out of the blue.

“By the way, when is Mr. Harold supposed to visit? If he doesn’t show up soon, there’s no reason for to keep wearing this maid outfit and serving commoners…”

“Father said he should have so free ti the day after tomorrow, but why are you so eager for his visit, Your Highness?”

“T-That’s none of your business! Besides, what goes on between Harold and doesn’t concern you…”

…Actually, it concerns Ethan much more than it does you, considering the possibility that he could soon have a stepmother younger than himself.

But since Antonio was dealing with a princess, Ethan wisely chose not to press the issue. It would be easier to ask Harold directly anyway.

“That said, if things keep going like this, we might have a problem.”

“Huh?”

“If Princess Rainey visits again tomorrow, who will attend to her? It’s been fortunate that Lady Rosewood has been here the past two days, but tomorrow…”

“Oh, right. Lilith and Blackwood are both off tomorrow, aren’t they?”

“…Ah.”

I had completely forgotten. At this point, I was the only one capable of attending to Princess Rainey without issue. It wasn’t just about preparing for bad luck; knowing how to respond in the event of a mishap was equally important. With my knowledge of Rainey’s misfortunes from the ga, I was the only one who could handle all possible scenarios.

The next best person would be that guy, but he had only played through the ga once, so he wouldn’t be able to anticipate everything.

“In that case, I could co in tomorrow morning, check if Princess Rainey shows up, and if she doesn’t, I’ll take the rest of the day off…”

“Oh, no need for that. If she does co again, and we can’t manage it, that would be a bigger issue. It’s better for you to stick to your schedule and rest, Lady Rosewood.”

“He’s right! Please don’t worry, Lilith!”

“But without , there won’t be anyone to attend to Princess Rainey…”

“I said relax. I’m not here to ruin your date with Blackwood.”

“Date...?”

…Well, technically, it was a date.

Agnes was right, though. It would be a sha to spend my rare festival date with Ethan constantly worrying about Rainey. I decided to trust my teammates to handle things in my absence.

“…Alright, then. I’ll leave it in your hands tomorrow.”

“Don’t worry about it, Lady Lilith!”

“With the hero and saint back tomorrow, things should go smoothly. Now, let’s all take a break.”

Though there were still so lingering concerns, it was important to trust my comrades. I had to let go of the burden on my shoulders, at least for one day.

The Luminor Festival event at Luminor Academy wasn’t just about working through the festival; students had their own activities and club events going on.

Of course, most students wanted to relax and have fun, so many clubs hosted simple exhibitions or demonstrations to free up ti for their own enjoynt. But there were also those who genuinely enjoyed organizing and participating in events. Ethan and I planned to visit those clubs and enjoy the festival ourselves.

‘Ethan will probably follow my lead as usual, so tomorrow I’ll guide us to a few places with a good atmosphere…’

“Lilith.”

“Yes, Master Ethan?”

“If it’s alright with you, I’d like to visit so places I’ve been interested in tomorrow. Is that okay?”

“…Huh?”

This was unexpected. Ethan rarely took the lead like this. Whether it was a date, a lecture, or anything else, he would always say, “Whatever you want, Lilith.” So it was strange to hear him make such a request.

‘Does he really want to take the lead, or is there another reason…?’

…Either way, it didn’t matter. If Ethan wanted to take charge, I wasn’t about to argue. Sotis getting a little lost during a festival made the experience even better.

“If that’s what you want, go ahead, Master Ethan.”

“Thank you, Lilith.”

And so, our date began the next morning.

By the fourth day of the festival, it was easy to tell which booths were popular and which were just scraping by. The stalls with long lines had already built a solid reputation or a high rate of returning visitors, making them trustworthy choices.

Ethan led the way, choosing various activities like sharing a buttered potato from a crowded food stall, trying his hand at archery at a prize-winning ga run by the archery club, and watching demonstrations of quirky but ultimately useless inventions by the technology club.

‘If I had been leading, we’d probably visit the sa kinds of booths.’

It was hard to discern Ethan’s true intentions. Was he really just trying to take the lead, or was he hiding his true purpose, slowly circling toward his actual destination?

I wouldn’t be surprised if he suddenly said sothing like, “Shall we check this place out?” and led into an illusion magic demonstration, like a haunted house.

‘Well, if that’s what he’s planning, I’ll play along.’

If he wanted to scream and cling to him, I could manage that.

But instead, Ethan passed by the illusion magic booth, and his behavior beca more awkward as he continued leading us to various ordinary, rather boring booths.

“T-This one looks fun, Lilith. Want to try it?”

“The Witch’s Astrology Demonstration”

‘…Huh?’

It did look interesting.

But... was this booth even in Luminor Academy originally?
