The vegetables Bai Zhi planted are nearly ready to eat, and her chicks are fast becoming the forest’s little tyrants.

Concerned about safety, she fenced the area around, so large animals can’t get in, and the chickens won’t wander off.

Life is quiet and beautiful, watching the sunrise and sunset each day. On the way ho, she’d casually grab so vegetables.

For breakfast, she’d eat a bowl of light vegetable noodles with an egg.

At noon, she’d stir fry a plate of bacon with potatoes.

Served with a small bowl of pickles, plus so stir-fried greens.

In the afternoon, she’d go to gather herbs, prepare them herself afterwards, needing to consult many books. Although not attending school, she can’t neglect her studies.

Ti is never enough.

In the afternoon, Moh Li would return; he now treats people in town. He leaves in the morning and surely returns before sunset.

Then they’d cook together; cooking for two ans a little more food. Feeling a bit lazy, they’d sotis just make a bacon hotpot, with sausage and hogrown greens, incredibly delicious.

To live like this forever doesn’t seem impossible.

With Labor Day’s seven-day holiday, many choose to travel to Bai Family Village to enjoy the scenery here.

Bai Zhi also returned, bringing many things from the mountains.

Seeing her, Bai Xiang felt a bit helpless. "I thought you’d grown into the mountains and won’t co out anymore."

But Bai Zhi wasn’t upset; instead, she laughed. "I’m kind of planning on it."

Though uncertain of Han Sheng’s next step, they haven’t been idle, and have been preparing all this ti, aiming for success.

And now, they have support among the visitors.

Several days passed quietly, but suddenly, on the holiday’s last day, sothing happened.

"Xingxing, co with to the mountains to find soone. A child is missing. Her mother is terribly worried. Let’s hurry and find them."

Bai Xiang ran back hastily, grabbing Bai Zhi to leave; she’s the most familiar with the mountain’s backside.

"What’s going on? Didn’t we say no one could go to the backside of the mountain?"

Bai Zhi didn’t expect anything to happen on the last day – they were too careless.

"Her mom went to the bathroom, he felt shy to follow her in, so he broke away from her hand and ran directly outside, resulting in his disappearance."

There are guards at several entrances of the village to ensure they check for any children.

Upon checking surveillance, a little boy with a lollipop was seen running to the mountain’s backside, and it’s already been two hours.

"Then let’s go quickly to find him."

Since a child was lost, they naturally joined in the search, hastily gathering the villagers to go together.

Of course, the police were called, and they quickly arrived to buy more ti.

Moh Li wasn’t back, Xu Yan was busy in the city, Bai Xiang and Bai Zhi each took a team to search the mountain.

The mountain’s backside is huge, full of the formation, preventing anyone from wandering too far.

Yet they searched up to half the mountain but still saw no sign of the child. Online shows this is where the formation is.

Thinking a child couldn’t possibly enter, Bai Xiang felt certain; but Bai Zhi disagreed, suggesting maybe by accident.

"Bro, quickly go back and search elsewhere. I’ll look a bit further; I’m the master’s apprentice, I can enter the Hundred Herbs Garden."

The Hundred Herbs Garden has now been taken over; Bai Zhi’s long been teaching them how to prepare and plant herbs, even sharing the recipes with her mother.

Bai Zhi believes if the herbs stay with her, they’ll eventually be monopolized and unavailable to most people, so it’s better to share them, letting everyone have access.

Thus, she must teach them in the shortest ti possible.

Once everyone left, Bai Zhi took a step forward and slowly went in.

In others’ eyes, Bai Zhi is a good kid. Several tis, Bai Dan heard their children praised, and he naturally felt happy.

That proud feeling is incomprehensible to others. Like they say he’s a hero; he feels it’s simply his duty. Whereas Xingxing isn’t him; her choices are most important.

Knowing Bai Zhi decided and was now feeding chickens to claim her territory made Bai Dan’s heart swell with pride – that’s his good granddaughter.

Taking a few more steps, everything seed different. The new scenery looked very nice.

The person in charge saw Bai Zhi arriving and felt odd. "Weren’t you supposed to rest at ho the past few days? Why are you here?"

When they asked, Bai Zhi felt even graver.

"A child went missing, and it’s been found he headed here. Uncle Zhang, quickly take so people to help search, or it’ll be too dark after sunset, making the forest even more dangerous."

The person in charge heard Bai Zhi and promptly nodded, "You’re right. Let’s begin the search right away."

A large group has strength; upon finding the child, they sighed with relief – he actually reached the small river ditch.

Now he’s unconscious; Bai Zhi gritted her teeth and had them take him to the thatch hut, preparing dicine for him. Just as she planned to use needles, the child awoke.

He warily clutched his arms, looking at Bai Zhi with a dark expression.

Bai Zhi: "..." Why did she feel like an old witch?

Or like a creepy aunt who kidnaps people.

"Who are you? I don’t know you. Are you a bad person trying to sell ?"

Bai Zhi: "..." The brat’s so asking for a beating, but seeing his trembling frightful look, forget it, let it be.

"I’m not a bad person."

"Bad people surely wouldn’t say they’re bad."

Bai Zhi: "..."

Eventually, a bowl of bacon porridge made the little guy happy to eat.

Bai Zhi wanted to treat his amnesia, but as she approached, he started crying loudly, disliking Bai Zhi and refusing to see her.

Hence, Bai Zhi could only retreat so they couldn’t see her.

He disappeared again.

They hurriedly and chaotically found the squirt, sobbing while walking, saying he wants to go ho.

Finding this forest terribly scary.

Those terrifying sounds, in the pitch dark night, particularly clear.

The little guy stumbled back.

His dad had been searching for a long while, extrely anxious, almost reporting the case.

...

Bai Zhi just followed behind him without helping. Legs are helping her, right? This way, she can be assured.

Seeing the squirt’s awkward state, Bai Zhi couldn’t help but laugh mischievously.

"How was it, fun at night?"

Upon hearing this, the boy grew even more frightened.
