Chapter 105: Chapter 105 Pig is Also a Big Shot Chapter 105: Chapter 105 Pig is Also a Big Shot When everything was almost ready, the at could be placed in a bowl, all of it stacked atop each other, piece by piece. Once everything was arranged, it could be placed in the stear.

The other half, without salt, wouldn’t be cooked just yet. Two connected slices of at had red bean paste stuffed between them. The fat had to be removed, placed at the bottom of a bowl, arranged in a circle. Then in went the stead sweetened glutinous rice. The steaming began.

When the ti was almost right, they took it out, flipped the bowl over, and it transford into a round stack with glutinous rice at the bottom and a layer of fat and red bean paste on top — the glutinous rice and at dish.

anwhile, the pickles with at were also ready with layers of pickles below and at on top, offering two completely distinct flavors.

The aroma filled the air, and Bai Fei and Bai Xiang couldn’t help drooling.

“That’s it, we should head ho now.”

Bai Xiang swallowed his saliva, saying this, but his gaze lingered on the kitchen.

“Bro, what are you even pretending for? If you want to eat, just say so. Zhizhi wouldn’t refuse us. Can’t we just bring our ingredients tomorrow and have Zhizhi cook for us? Aren’t you going to sell canned food tomorrow? Just buy so at or sothing on your way back, and then we’ll get to eat sothing delicious, right?”

Bai Fei sniffed, the aroma was tantalizing. From now on, she planned to cling to Bai Zhi. She craved a taste so desperately.

“Alright!” Bai Xiang gritted his teeth; the dish slled so good he didn’t really want to leave.

When Bai Dan returned from the county, he saw his two siblings with longing eyes gazing at the kitchen. Slling the delicious scent, he knew Xingxing had cooked sothing tasty.

“Grandpa, you’re back. Let’s eat then. After that, we need to bottle more goods. Tomorrow, brother and you are going to deliver the goods together.”

Bai Zhi smiled at Bai Dan and began to bring out the dishes — two at dishes, one stir-fried long beans, one stir-fried green veggies, along with a winter lon soup.

The staple was glutinous rice because they made the glutinous rice and at dish, so Bai Zhi cooked glutinous rice.

At first, Bai Xiang was shy to reach for dishes, but seeing Bai Fei’s chopsticks flying, he couldn’t resist and started to compete for the food.

The glutinous rice and at dish was rich but not greasy, sweetened by the delicate red bean paste; the savory version simply lted in the mouth. The flavors layered beautifully with those of the pickles. Even the pickles absorbed the scent of the at, enhancing their own taste.

Even Bai Dan ended up helping himself to more portions, not to ntion Bai Xiang and Bai Fei.

Just then, Bai Zhi made so Candied Hawthorn to aid with digestion.

“Is there any extra Candied Hawthorn? I’d like to try selling so.”

While speaking, Bai Xiang pondered, much to Bai Fei’s speechless reaction. Their brother truly thought of selling anything that seed sellable.

But indeed, it was quite delicious.

“Not much left. I used all the hawthorn already. We’ll gather more tomorrow and start making them then, probably in the afternoon. I think I’ll go get them after coming back at noon.”

Bai Zhi actually had another idea in mind; she wanted to make Hawthorn Cake.

Hawthorn Cake could last a little longer but was trickier to preserve.

“That works, I’ll go gather hawthorn for you tomorrow.”

Mountain pears couldn’t be carried back, but hawthorn should be manageable.

“Okay.”

Bai Zhi didn’t object to the collaborative effort. After all, wasn’t it natural for her cousin to help out?

After eating the Candied Hawthorn, they started bottling. Even with Bai Dan’s assistance, it took over an hour. It was a slow process due to the sheer quantity — a staggering two hundred bottles! The profit margin was genuinely significant.

However, since the availability of mountain pear was fixed and seasonal, it wasn’t excessive. Bai Zhi and Bai Xiang remained calm, but Bai Fei was ecstatic.

She did so quick calculations: two hundred bottles equated to 2,000 yuan, and how much would she get?

She couldn’t quite figure it out, but it was a substantial amount of money.

She hadn’t considered the costs of the jars, the white sugar, and rock sugar, but still, the sum was considerable.

Once everything was bottled, all was packed into baskets and boxes. Bai Xiang had even prepared the boxes. In the end, everything was loaded into a tricycle. All that remained was to roll out tomorrow.

Bai Dan prepared flashlights for the two children and was ready to accompany them back when he just opened the door to see Bai Guang coming out of the darkness.

“Second Uncle, I’ve co to pick up the two kids. You don’t need to send them back, do you?”

Bai Guang held his daughter with one hand and kicked his son along as they went ho. Hearing that Bai Zhi’s cooking was delicious, he smiled.

“Well then, tomorrow you guys should buy so groceries. Let Bai Zhi cook again, we can’t just take it for granted and always eat at Second Grandpa’s, understand?”

“Of course, we’ve already agreed with Zhizhi that tomorrow we will make beef stew with radish. I believe Brother will be able to buy the beef.”

The one who was trusted, in fact, didn’t trust himself very much. Buying fish would have been more likely.

Bai Xiang left early in the morning with Bai Dan, while Bai Zhi and Bai Fei continued to work with the mountain pears after dinner, still carrying a basket full of stead dumplings.

“Zhizhi, why do you have so many stead dumplings?”

“To sell.”

“What?”

Bai Fei didn’t quite understand, but when she got to the mountain, she realized they were for Moh Li. However, since they were all children, Bai Fei really didn’t find anything special about Moh Li’s baby face.

On the other hand…

Bai Yu and Bai Ye got up early and started working. Recently, because Bai Da was leaving early and returning late, they had to make their own breakfast.

Bai Yu cooked, simply boiling an egg for each of them to have with rice porridge. The pickles were all eaten up, and there were no vegetables in the morning, so they had to make do.

And at this mont, Bai Ye?

He didn’t have ti to eat. He was still cutting grass for the pigs. Only now did he realize one thing: pigs are like bosses.

They don’t just eat anything. He had seen a patch of grass that looked particularly good, feeling like cutting once could last for three days.

But when he got back…

Pah.

Not even a boss would eat it. He had to cut again.

They wanted tender grass, and there were even several types they wouldn’t eat—how could they be so valuable?

He was already hungry, feeling dizzy and blurred.

He did a sorsault and fell into a pit,

Calling for help to no avail, shouting to the unheeding earth.

Unfortunately, this scene was witnessed by Bai Zhi and Bai Fei, where Bai Fei just held her stomach and laughed heartily.

Bai Zhi prepared to walk over, but Bai Fei grabbed her and disapprovingly looked at her.

“What are you doing? You’re not thinking of saving him, are you? Have you forgotten how he treated you before?”

Save Bai Ye?

No way. Her cousin thought too much. She just wanted to gloat.

“Alright, you’re right, let’s go.”

Not kicking soone while they’re down was a bit of a pity, but she couldn’t break her persona—Bai Ye got lucky.

“That’s right. I tell you, people like him, even if they die from the fall, it’s what they deserve. How could you have been so silly before, always being bullied by them?”

Thinking back to how Bai Zhi used to be, Bai Fei still felt a bit angry. It was really whatever Bai Yu and the others said went, without her having any opinion of her own—it was perplexing how she could have thought like that.

“Before, I longed for what I shouldn’t have. I won’t do that again.”
