Chapter 25: “Why does Li Tai’s hair look a little green?”

As they approached the entrance to Li Tai’s villa, Bai Zhou saw from afar that both Li Tai and his son, Li Yonggang, were standing at the door, seemingly waiting for soone.

The car slowly ca to a stop.

Before Bai Zhou could even get out to open the door, Ye Qiantong opened the door herself and got out, as if she was already accustod to Bai Zhou not opening the door for her.

Ye Qiantong swayed her waist as she walked step by step towards Li Tai and Li Yonggang.

Bai Zhou followed behind her.

In truth, he was a bit nervous. However, he was certain that Ye Qiantong wouldn’t reveal what had happened today. If she did, she’d be the first to die.

“Stepmom.” Li Yonggang was the first to greet Ye Qiantong.

Li Tai looked at his young wife, barely in her thirties, with eyes full of deep affection.

For so reason, at that mont, Bai Zhou looked at Li Tai and felt sothing strange, so much so that he couldn’t hold back from muttering quietly: “When did the boss dye his hair green?”

No one heard Bai Zhou’s remark, but Ye Qiantong, who was closest to him, heard it clearly.

Her smile beca even more noticeable.

Very quickly, Li Tai noticed sothing was off: “Tongtong, what happened to your neck?”

Imdiately, both Li Tai and Li Yonggang’s expressions turned serious as they looked at Bai Zhou and asked: “Bai Zhou, nothing happened on the way, right?”

“Oh no!” Bai Zhou thought to himself, realizing that he had forgotten about the cut on Ye Qiantong’s neck from the dagger.

But before Bai Zhou could say anything, Ye Qiantong spoke up first: “It’s nothing. I just forgot to remove the collar pin when trying on clothes today, and accidentally scratched myself.”

Hearing Ye Qiantong’s explanation, the tension in the air dissipated, and all three—Li Tai, Li Yonggang, and Bai Zhou—let out a sigh of relief.

Then, Li Tai turned and called out: “Aunt Wu! Co and take the madam to treat her wound.”

Before following Aunt Wu into the villa, Ye Qiantong suddenly stopped, turned to Li Tai, and pointed at Bai Zhou, asking: “What’s this person’s na?”

“Hmm?”

What’s this crazy woman up to now?!

Bai Zhou’s eyes held a hint of warning as he looked at her.

But it seed Ye Qiantong enjoyed Bai Zhou looking at her this way—she didn’t care at all.

Li Tai instinctively replied: “Bai Zhou, why do you ask?”

Ye Qiantong nodded and said: “Hmm, from now on, let him be the one to pick up. His driving is the smoothest I’ve experienced. I didn’t get carsick at all.”

What the heck!! Again?!

No one else reacted to her statent.

But for Bai Zhou, it was as if thunder had struck in his ears!

Good grief! You may not have gotten carsick, but I was this close to fainting from dizziness! This crazy woman was walking further and further down the path of courting death!

After making that statent, Ye Qiantong gracefully walked away.

But Li Tai was already beaming, looking at Bai Zhou with so surprise as he said: “Bai Zhou, I never realized you had such a talent for driving. I’ve lost count of how many drivers I’ve replaced for Tongtong. None of them lasted a full trip before they resigned.”

Even Li Yonggang ca over and patted Bai Zhou on the shoulder, saying: “Nice one, Bai Zhou! My stepmom is notorious for getting carsick, and you managed to cure it!”

Unbelievable! These two are complete idiots! Your stepmom? If I keep driving her around, you might end up calling dad, you know that?!

But at this point, what more could Bai Zhou say?

He simply smiled and nodded, saying: “Thank you, Boss, and thank you, Young Master, for the complints.”

Li Tai nodded, then waved his hand, summoning a subordinate who handed him a bank card.

Li Tai passed the card to Bai Zhou, saying: “This card has 100,000 yuan in it. The password is six zeros. Consider it a bonus for driving your sister-in-law. Each month, 100,000 will be deposited. Keep it safe.”

Wow!! A hundred thousand?! Just for being a driver? This is the kind of job you couldn’t find even with a lantern! The most important thing is … Driving Ye Qiantong wasn’t just driving in the literal sense! There were plenty of different ways to “drive”! Is this you paying a salary to seduce your wife?

Bai Zhou held the 100,000-yuan bank card and looked at Li Tai in front of him.

Sincerely, he said: “Thank you, Boss.”

“Mm.” Li Tai nodded, saying nothing more.

Li Yonggang, however, pulled Bai Zhou aside and asked: “Bai Zhou, are we still going to Mu Hai Group tomorrow?”

Going again? What for?! Good grief, has Li Yonggang unlocked so kind of simp attribute?

Cough, cough … Bai Zhou cleared his throat and said: “Anything in excess is bad, even when pursuing a girl. There’s no need to go every day.”

“But didn’t you say yesterday that I should be bold, ticulous, and thick-skinned?”

Seriously? Li Yonggang rembered every word of that nonsense from yesterday?

Bai Zhou shook his head and replied: “Being bold, ticulous, and thick-skinned is fine, but it depends on the person! Mu Qingqing is really busy right now. If you keep visiting her every day, she’ll just get annoyed.”

“Good point!” Li Yonggang nodded in agreent.

“Thanks, Bai Zhou!”

No problem … no problem …

It seed the Li family had so business to take care of today. They dismissed Bai Zhou early.

The internal matters of the Li family weren’t ntioned in the original novel; otherwise, Bai Zhou would’ve known about them. But as long as their issues didn’t affect him, Bai Zhou didn’t care at all!

He now had plenty of ti to focus on investigating Chen Zhong!
