Chapter 1: The World of Martial Arts (1)

Under the mournful moonlight.

A man clad in blood-stained martial robes sat collapsed on the ground, holding a woman drenched in blood in his arms. His expression was one of utter despair.

“Ah… ah….”

Only miserable groans escaped from the man’s mouth.

A woman standing a short distance away watched him. As if she could no longer hold it in, a suppressed laugh slipped out along with the faint trembling of her shoulders.

“Hehe. Are you that sad?”

The man lifted his head and looked at her.

Moonlight softly wrapped around her silhouette. Each ti the wind blew, her pitch-black hair and dark robes fluttered.

A beauty so unparalleled that one might believe she had just descended from the moon hanging high in the night sky.

Yet despite her beautiful appearance, her gaze resembled an abyss. Deep and cold. Her blood-red lips curved slightly, and a cruel aura blood from them.

“Why…? Why would you go this far?”

Staring straight at her, the man barely managed to squeeze out the words.

“Puhaha! What a ridiculous question.”

Her laughter spread through the wind.

The mont the woman t his gaze again, the man felt as though he had fallen into a bottomless abyss.

“…!”

The woman stepped forward.

The distance between them shortened. The intense aura radiating from her made the man’s eyes tremble.

And—She tilted her head slightly. With an even deeper smile, she whispered softly.

“Did you not expect it to end like this, my dear husband?”

The man’s face twisted instantly.

The word “husband” sounded unbearably disgusting.

He grabbed the white sword lying on the ground. Then he carefully laid the woman in his arms down before rising to his feet with resolve.

“You and I—today, one of us will not stand beneath the sa sky.”

“How interesting.”

The man slowly raised his sword. The woman released her hands from behind her back.

As the two faced each other, murderous intent surged from them, causing the very heavens and earth to tremble.

RUMBLEEEEE!!

Just as the two, having drawn their inner energy to the absolute limit, were about to charge at one another—

—the world stopped.

“…What the hell kind of nonsense is this?”

A man in his mid-twenties wearing a suit muttered with a frown as he stared at his phone screen.

Slightly chubby, with deep dark circles under his eyes and wearing glasses, he was an office worker nad Park Jiwon who was on his way ho from work.

‘Has this author completely lost his mind?’

He had always read novels on the bus ride ho. This ti he had been reading a martial arts novel called Heavenly Demon’s Successor.

But suddenly the heroine died in the story, leaving him completely baffled.

“You are really asking for it.”

Holding his phone with both hands, Jiwon quickly began typing a comnt.

Tap tap tap tap.

-Suddenly killing the heroine? Do you have writer syndro or sothing? That kind of plot is not even the trend these days. By the way, how old are you?

After posting the sarcastic comnt dripping with mockery, he still was not satisfied and continued typing.

-Ugh. What a waste of money. I tried to relieve so stress and ended up even more stressed. I am dropping this novel, so why do you not go unload cargo or sothing, author?

Finishing with a classic malicious comnt, he leaned back with a satisfied expression.

“Hoo. That feels so refres—”

BOOOOOOM! CRACKLE!

“Gah!?”

“Aaah!”

Before he could finish muttering, an enormous thunderclap struck the road.

“S-Scared .”

Shrinking his shoulders, Park Jiwon rubbed his chest.

‘Now that I think about it….’

The timing felt unbelievably strange.

The mont he posted the malicious comnt, lightning had struck nearby as if it were responding to him.

‘Co on. No way.’

Shaking his head at the ridiculous thought, he glanced up at the dark sky outside the window and jokingly muttered with a cheeky grin.

“Missed ~.”

BOOOOOOOOM!!

But at that exact mont, a single bolt of lightning pierced through the bus window and struck Park Jiwon directly.

***

“Ugh….”

Jiwon slowly opened his eyes while groaning from an intense headache.

A strange wooden ceiling appeared before him—so clear it was almost unnatural. And a scent he had never slled before filled the air.

‘What…?’

He could not understand the situation.

He had definitely been riding the bus ho late at night, reading Heavenly Demon’s Successor…

“…!?”

He shot upright.

The thunder that had struck his ears ca rushing back to his mind.

And the unfamiliar surroundings made him panic even more.

The wide room was filled with luxurious wooden furniture.

But when he looked into the mirror placed on the dressing table, his shock intensified even further.

“W-What?!”

In the mirror was the face of a handso young man who looked as if he could be a rising star these days.

Elegant eyebrows, large eyes, and lips tinted with red. Long black hair flowed all the way down to the waist, swaying beautifully.

The body clad in black martial robes was sleek yet perfectly trained—like a black panther.

“J-Jin Yun!”

Without realizing it, he raised his voice and pointed at the mirror.

The protagonist of Heavenly Demon’s Successor.

The man in the mirror, appearing to be in his early twenties, matched exactly the appearance described for Jin Yun in the novel.

“What on earth is going on…?”

For a mont he remained stunned by the unbelievable situation before rembering the lightning strike.

‘Could it be… a dream I am having while lying in a coma after being struck by lightning?’

It was certainly possible.

So he slapped his own cheek.

SMACK!

“Argh!!”

The shock was far stronger than expected and instantly cleared his mind.

But he did not wake up.

“……”

After staring blankly for a long ti, he was finally forced to accept that this was reality.

‘D-Damn it. Is this that cliché pattern you see in novels?’

He possessed the body of Jin Yun—the protagonist of Heavenly Demon’s Successor.

Thinking about it, the timing was suspiciously perfect.

The lightning that struck the mont he posted a malicious comnt toward the author of Heavenly Demon’s Successor.

The first lightning bolt had seed like a miss. The second had struck him perfectly.

How could that possibly be a coincidence?

‘Maybe….’

Perhaps it was the work of so existence—whether the author he insulted, a god, or maybe both.

“Co on, was it really necessary to go this far just because I left a tiny, very tiny malicious comnt?”

He complained toward the ceiling.

Even though he liked stories with this kind of developnt, becoming Jin Yun himself was sothing he absolutely did not want.

Because, thanks to the author’s outdated tastes, Jin Yun was the classic “suffering protagonist.”

‘And judging by how young he looks, this must definitely be the early part of Heavenly Demon’s Successor.’

Cold sweat began to run down his back as the protagonist’s hardships flashed through his mind like a panorama.

When nothing happened despite staring desperately upward, he tried threatening instead.

“If you keep this up, I will completely ruin your novel! Send back right now!”

He shouted toward the ceiling.

But again, only silence filled the room.

Finally, Jiwon twisted his face and spat the words out.

“…Fine. Let us see who wins.”

I am not exactly soone with a mild personality either.

Whether it was a god or the author, he had no intention of dancing to their tune.

‘Instead, I will cause chaos until they kick out of this world.’

With malicious determination, he glared at the ceiling and made his decision.
