Blind Date

Shen Nian pretended to be innocent and replied, “My godmother said you went to Mom’s unit twice yesterday. Uncle, were you there to make a report instead of visiting Mom?”

Lian Jing sneered and replied, “I did visit her, but I don’t like her.”

After sending that ssage, Lian Jing inexplicably felt a lingering fear. After so many years in the business world, he had never felt such a chill creep down his spine. However, on second thoughts, he was the president of Lian Corporation. He could not possibly marry a divorced woman with a child, so he ignored Shen Nian.

Shen Yin had been away at the scene for most of the day. After returning to the police station, she plunged into the autopsy room and carefully examined the corpse with Zheng Ling.

After working for a long ti, they finally managed to piece the body together.

After leaving the autopsy room, Zheng Ling collapsed into the chair in exhaustion. She did not feel like moving anymore.

Han Xu and Wang Sheng had gone to assess the injuries, so only the two of them were left in the office.

Zheng Ling had an idea. She thought about it and felt that this was the right mont. She asked curiously, “Boss, what do you think of ng Heng?”

“Not a bad child.” Shen Yin had excellent stamina. She had retained her composure and was not even breathing heavily when she took two cups of warm water and handed one to Zheng Ling.

Zheng Ling thanked her gratefully. She took a sip and continued to ask, “You think of him as a child?”

Shen Yin smiled and said no more.

She knew perfectly well that just the fact that she had a six-year-old child made it impossible for ng Heng to like her. Not to ntion that she was a few years older than ng Heng.

Lian Jing’s reaction yesterday was sufficient to show how much unmarried n cared about such things.

So, she had never considered that she and ng Heng could have any further developnts. She was only afraid of hurting his feelings, so she had to find ways to avoid him.

Perhaps he would give up after awhile?

When Zheng Ling saw Shen Yin’s reaction, she understood. She shrugged and comnted, “What a pity.”

Shen Yin patted her head, picked up her bag, and went ho. She did not take this matter to heart at all.

As usual, Shen Nian was waiting for her in the living room. When he saw her, he threw himself into her arms. “Mom, did the uncle from yesterday look for you today?”

“No, I really have nothing to do with him.” Shen Yin put down her satchel and went into the kitchen.

Li Zi was working late today, so she would have to try cooking herself.

“Mom! I’ve already ordered takeout! Stop cooking!” Shen Nian blocked Shen Yin’s path as if she was her enemy.

Mom’s hands could dissect corpses, but she could not cook! Otherwise, they would have to compensate their godmother with a new kitchen. The loss outweighed the gain!

Shen Yin suddenly missed Li Zi. She sat on the sofa under Shen Nian’s uneasy gaze and sent a ssage to Li Zi. “Beautiful girl, what ti are you coming back?”

“Soon.” Li Zi chuckled and took the opportunity to send her a man’s contact details. “This is my colleague. He’s thirty-two but he’s been busy his career, and he’s not married. Would you like to try having a al together?’

Shen Yin was stunned for a mont. She looked at Shen Nian uncertainly.

She herself had no desire for marriage, but it might be better for Nian Nian if she could provide him with an unbroken family.

Shen Nian’s sharp eyes had already seen the news. He nodded seriously. “Just say yes. I hope soone will take care of you.”

Since that man really is not fated to be with my mother, I might as well let Mom et more people. Maybe there will be soone better!

It was a pity, because that the man looked very similar to him.

In the hospital ward, Lian Jing suddenly panicked. He looked at his grandfather, who was lying in bed and talking to Lian’e and her husband. He said apologetically, “I still have sothing to deal with at the office. I had better go.”

“Go, Little Jing.” Grandpa watched him leave, pleased. Among his sons and grandsons, Lian Jing suited him the best. He just did not know what was wrong with this child. He was almost thirty years old and yet, had no one to share his life.

“Dad, I heard sothing strange at the office today.” After feeding the old man a bowl of porridge, Lian’e put down her chopsticks and smiled. “Our Little Jing has found soone!”

“Really?” Pleased, the Old Master tugged at her hand. “Quick, tell more about her. Which family is she from?”

“It’s that Yun Shan.” Lian’e smiled kindly. “I’m not sure why, but they weren’t together in the past. Last night, the dia caught Lian Jing bringing Yun Shan into our house late at night!”
