The phone rang a few tis before Lian Jing picked it up. Shen Yin hurriedly asked, “Is Hu Bin working on your orders?”
On the other end of the phone, Lian Jing chuckled and praised her playfully, “You’re quite fast. Our Yin Yin is smart and capable.”
Shen Yin coughed awkwardly. Amidst the snickers of Team Three, she said helplessly, “Do you know that Hu Bin is now suspected of following Shen Luo, and Shen Luo happens to be missing…”
“I know. I was the one who sent him,” Lian Jing admitted frankly. “However, her disappearance has nothing to do with . I got soone to follow her and keep an eye on her to prevent her from plotting against you.”
They looked at each other. ng Heng could not help but interrupt, “Then where is Shen Luo now? We have to find her imdiately, or she might beco the last target of the murderer.”
Lian Jing’s face fell, and there was a hint of mockery in his voice. “Team Three is protecting her. If you want to know where she is, go and find out yourself.”
ng Heng’s eyes widened in anger, but he did not dare to say anything to make things difficult for Shen Yin. He could only hold his breath and punch the table resentfully.
Zou Sheng quickly stood up and held his shoulder. He pressed ng Heng onto the chair and gestured for him to calm down.
Shen Yin sighed and said slowly, “If anything happens to Shen Luo, I’ll be responsible too. Lian Jing, tell her current location. This is a serious matter. Now is not the ti to throw a tantrum.”
There was a long silence on the other end of the phone before Lian Jing’s deep voice sounded. “Co downstairs. I’m at the entrance of the police station.”
Shen Yin’s eyes widened in surprise. She asked relentlessly, “Then Shen Luo’s location…”
Lian Jing snorted and said calmly, “Chengxi, in the residential area.”
“Impossible!” ng Heng shouted, “Our people have already gone to Dong Chang’s house once. Dong Heng and Shen Luo are nowhere to be seen!”
Lian Jing hung up the mont he heard ng Heng’s voice.
Shen Yin put away her cell phone in amusent and looked at Wu Zheng. “Then let’s split up. I’ll go down and look for Lian Jing first. We’ll et up at the bungalow area later.”
“Okay.” Wu Zheng nodded. After watching Shen Yin leave, he picked up the car key and patted ng Heng’s dispirited shoulder. “Cheer up. I’m afraid it will be a tough battle later.”
“What tough battle? Surely Shen Luo is not in danger?” Zou Sheng asked uncertainly.
Wu Zheng shook his head gently. “Don’t forget that Shen Luo’s cell phone was found by the roadside. Sothing must have already happened to her. Besides, if nothing happened to Hu Bin and he had followed Shen Luo closely, why would Lian Jing suddenly co to the police station to pick up Dr. Shen?”
“You’re saying that Hu Bin actually lost track of her right at the start, so Lian Jing rushed to the police station to pick up Sister Shen because he was afraid that sothing would happen to her? Then isn’t Shen Luo in danger now?” Zou Sheng put on his coat and left imdiately. He pulled ng Heng up without hesitation and said, “There’s no ti to mope. Saving lives is more important. Team Three’s SUV and Lian Jing’s car moved out at the sa ti and rushed to the bungalow area where Hu Bin had last sent a report.
In the car, Zhong Xin sat in the front passenger seat and guided the chauffeur. Lian Jing and Shen Yin sat in the back and looked at each other.
“Why are you looking at like that?” Lian Jing narrowed his eyes. He finally relaxed when he saw that she was safe and sound.
Shen Yin cleared her throat, batted her eyes, and asked curiously, “Why did you send soone to follow Shen Luo?”
Lian Jing flicked her forehead and reminded her kindly, “Didn’t you send a picture of a beer bottle?”
“You deduced so much just from that?” Shen Yin exclaid. He was incredibly clever. If it were not for his precautions, they would probably still be at the office, searching for Shen Luo like a needle in a haystack.
Lian Jing enjoyed her admiring gaze. He smiled and wrapped his hand around hers. “Shen Luo is too resentful of you. I have to be cautious.”
“But how did her phone get left by the roadside?” Shen Yin had also thought of the possibility that Wu Zheng had ntioned. It was very likely that Hu Bin had lost track of her not long after she left the neighborhood. It was Lian Jing who had found Shen Luo’s current location.
“That’s because she was courting her own death.” Lian Jing sneered and moved closer to Shen Yin without batting an eyelid. He could not sit still and just hold her hand. He tried his luck and pulled her into his embrace, then said with a sneer, “She’s quite vigilant. When she sensed that soone was following her, she deliberately shook off my n. In the end, she was kidnapped. It’s her own fault if sothing really happens to her!”
“Don’t say that.” Shen Yin sighed deeply. “If sothing happens to Shen Luo today, I will definitely bla myself and feel guilty because I’m a police officer. I don’t want another innocent victim on this case that I’ve taken on.”
Lian Jing looked at her seriously and smiled. “I knew that you would say that, so I specially asked the technical departnt to find her location.”
