186 Secret Room
Wu Zheng frowned and gestured to ng Heng. “Sure. Why are you looking for Lian Jing?”
Shen Yin looked at the kidnappers, and the scar-faced man shook his head at her. Shen Yin understood and continued, “I can’t tell you, but please help to contact him. Thank you.”
The scar-faced man hung up the phone and looked pleased. This woman was quite obedient. It seed that they would be able to get the money and leave soon!
Wu Zheng quickly cald himself and asked ng Heng to contact Lian Jing while he called the Narcotics Unit.
“What does this have to do with narcotics?” Li Zi asked in confusion, “Is it related to the previous case?”
That case had already been handed over to the prosecutor’s office. Although Li Zi had not personally handled it, she had heard the whole story from her colleagues. If Shen Yin was really in their hands, the consequences would be dire!
“Calm down. I don’t think so.” Wu Zheng analyzed calmly. “First of all, Dr. Shen never addresses as Wu Zheng, whether at the police station or in private. She always addresses as Captain Wu. I guess she addressed by my na because she didn’t want to expose my identity as a police officer. This ans that the group of people who kidnapped Shen Yin doesn’t know her true identity.”
His words cald Li Zi. However, she still asked in confusion, “But you still called the narcotics unit. Why?”
Wu Zheng sighed and said slowly, “I didn’t dissuade her from quarreling with Lian Jing . It’s all a fabrication. So the point of what she said wasn’t the quarrel at all. Instead, it was where she said the quarrel took place, which she referred to as an office. When I brought Shen Yin to the secret passage discovered by the narcotics team, the place was furnished as an office. But since she ntioned Lian Jing, the kidnappers must be the one requesting to contact him. This shows that the gang probably kidnapped Shen Yin for money.”
Li Zi understood and nodded thoughtfully. “That’s right. Perhaps Shen Yin was trying to tell us that she suspects she’s in an undiscovered den of the drug dealers that were caught last ti. However, the group of people who kidnapped her are not those criminals!”
“That’s right!” ng Heng nodded. “At least we know that she’s not in danger for the ti being.”
As they were talking, ng Heng’s phone suddenly rang. It was Lian Jing.
He told Lian Jing everything that they had deduced and agreed to et at the old building.
Wu Zheng and the others decided to hide in the old building for the ti being and wait for their colleagues and Lian Jing to arrive before taking action. If there were still criminals from the previous case which had not been caught, they might not be able to handle them. Then their cover would be blown and that would spoil matters.
Lian ng looked at her brother’s gloomy face and asked anxiously, “What happened to Sister-in-law?”
“She’s been kidnapped.” Lian Jing sent the location to Zhong Xin. They left the airport and rushed to the old building.
“How could this happen?! It’s all my fault!” Lian ng thought that she had agitated Shen Yin, causing her be distracted and she had been kidnapped as a result. She hurriedly apologized to her brother, who was sitting in the backseat with her.
Lian Jing shook his head and instructed Zhong Xin in a deep voice, “Prepare the cash. No matter how much they want, I have to save Shen Yin.”
Lian ng looked at him in disbelief. “Brother! Are you really going to give those bastards money?! Shouldn’t we catch them and send them to prison before finding soone to torture them?!”
Lian Jing frowned and glanced at her. “For Shen Yin’s safety, we have to be fully prepared. Once we save Shen Yin, I won’t let them off!”
Everything was arranged perfectly. Everything was carried out quietly, late at night.
Shen Yin did not know if Wu Zheng understood what she ant, but she could only hope that ti would pass more slowly so that she could think of a strategy.
The scar-faced man impatiently held her phone and waited for the call. The n behind him yawned sleepily. After being scolded by the scar-faced man, they quickly pulled themselves together and sat up straight.
A short man rummaged through the room out of boredom, trying to find sothing to eat. “Brother, why is this place abandoned when it’s so well furnished? I’ve been watching this place for a long ti, but I haven’t seen anyone appear. The door isn’t locked. I wonder what it was used for in the past.”
Another small-eyed man rolled his eyes in disgust. “Don’t you know? There has to be a managent office for construction work, right? This might be it! It’s just that this building is abandoned, and no one uses this place.”
The tallest man took off his sunglasses and said proudly, “It’s all thanks to you that we discovered this place. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have a good hideout even if we wanted to do sothing big. I don’t think there’s anyone here. Why don’t we just make it ours!”
“The building managent’s office? No way! Then why isn’t there any construction information here? And these things haven’t been moved.” The smiling man shook his head in confusion.
He suddenly opened a secret compartnt and took out a packet of white powder. He shook it in surprise and asked curiously, “Brother, what is this? Is this also used for construction?”
