116 Rejecting A Gift
Shen Yin stopped in her tracks when she heard that. She turned around and looked at Cheng Huo without batting an eyelid. “President Cheng, since you already has a girlfriend, you should keep a distance from other won. I don’t want to experience another disaster like today.”
When Cheng Huo heard that, he reached out to take her arm.
However, Shen Yin nimbly avoided him. She turned around and got into the taxi with Zheng Ling, preparing to return to the police station and get back to work. She did not give Cheng Huo any chance to explain, leaving him standing there awkwardly.
Cheng Huo only retracted his hand after a while. He clenched his hand into a fist then said with a slight smile. “I won’t let you off so easily.”
Shen Yin and Zheng Ling had just arrived at the office when they saw ng Heng waiting at the door.
Zheng Ling cleared her throat and entered the office first. Only the two of them were left in the quiet corridor.
ng Heng took a step closer to her, but cautiously kept his distance. He scratched his head and asked with concern, “About what happened this afternoon… Are you alright? Are you injured?”
Shen Yin looked at him in confusion. “How do you know what happened at the cafeteria?”
She thought that Han Xu, who had returned first, had told ng Heng. To her surprise, ng Heng took out his cell phone and quickly swiped on the screen a few tis before showing it to her.
They had caused quite a stir. Soone had recorded it and posted it online, causing a heated discussion among many netizens.
Shen Yin rubbed her aching temples. Now that everyone knew about it, that person would definitely find out too.
Sure enough, when Shen Yin got off work and walked to the junction, she saw Lian Jing leaning against the car, his head bowed as he smoked.
She subconsciously wanted to run, but a smiling Zhong Xin blocked her way. “Miss Shen, President Lian is waiting for you.”

She resigned herself to her fate and walked to the car. She opened the car door and got in without even looking at Lian Jing.

Seeing that Shen Yin had obediently gotten into the car, Lian Jing stubbed out his cigarette and sat next to her.
The chauffeur and Zhong Xin hid at a distance, afraid that President Lian would fly into a rage and they would be implicated. Nothing would happen to Miss Shen, but they would beco punching bags.
Lian Jing glanced at the woman who was looking out of the window and asked calmly, “Why did you leave the hospital without telling ?”
Although Shen Yin was stubborn, she was still a little nervous. Knowing that he wanted the best for her, she softened her tone and explained to him calmly, “The nurse said that I could go ho to recuperate.”
“You obey the nurses but not ?” Lian Jing looked at her unhappily.
Shen Yin explained patiently,”When it cos to illnesses, a nurse has more say than you. Besides, I’m a forensic pathologist, and I am an accurate judge of injuries.”
Lian Jing looked at her coldly. “Then can you judge how much strength I need to break your injured neck?”
Shen Yin rolled her eyes at him. Just as she was about to open the car door and get out, a hand holding a box appeared in front of her.
Her eyes traveled up the arm and t Lian Jing’s calm and composed eyes.
She pointed to the beautifully wrapped box and asked, “What’s this?”
Lian Jing impatiently flung the box into her lap and called Zhong Xin back. Seeing her stunned expression, he could not help but flick her forehead. “It’s a gift to celebrate being discharged from the hospital, stupid.”
Shen Yin’s eyes imdiately grew wary. “What kind of tracker is it?”
Lian Jing almost stopped breathing. After holding his breath for a long ti, he looked at Shen Yin’s suspicious eyes. He beca even more frustrated and snatched the box back. “If you don’t want it, then forget it. I would rather throw it away than give it to you.”
Shen Yin leaned against the car door indifferently. Her eyes watched as the scenery rapidly went past. She gradually grew sleepy and her eyelids beca heavy.
Lian Jing gripped the box tightly and looked straight ahead. From the corner of his eye, he kept staring at the woman who would be the death of him.
Not only did she not feel any reluctance to give up the gift, she did not seem to care about it at all. She was just leaning against the car window and nodding off. The noble and self-controlled President Lian was instantly furious.
