Lu Zhenping’s facial expression was very ugly. No wonder he found the posture of the two kids running over a bit odd just earlier. Humph, their father was still here, was it Fourth Aunt’s turn to discipline his children?
"Ming Fang, stop crying. Your mother is still unwell; take Ming Kai back to the room and look after your mother. Mingyang, Mingliang, co, let’s go to your grandparents’ house. You are n, and if you make a mistake, you should bear the consequences, and you must also apologize."
As Lu Zhenping spoke, he made to walk outside, then suddenly rembered sothing and picked up the belt from the table.
Mingyang looked anxiously towards the door of the east side room before hurrying to follow. Lu Mingliang, holding up his pants, had his little face blushing with sha. His father, really, how could he take down his pants in front of everyone? It was so embarrassing for him.
After several people left, Ming Fang wiped away her tears and led Lu Mingkai, who was bewildered and scared,
"Don’t be afraid, little brother, let’s go see Mom."
Just as the siblings were about to reach the door of the east room, Shen ng opened the door.
"Mom!"
"Mom is fine, Ming Fang. Your dad cooked food. It’s in the stove; let serve it to you. You and your brother eat first, and after eating, let’s go to bed early."
"What about big brother?"
Shen ng sighed. They had just left, and she was already extrely worried. In the whole wide world, which parents could truly be heartless towards their children!
"With your father there, your two brothers won’t suffer any loss. Listen to Mom, you and Mingkai eat first. After eating, wash up and go to bed early."
Now, whatever Shen ng said, Ming Fang would listen. As long as her mom was always this good, she would be willing to do whatever she was asked.
When Lu Zhenping arrived at the Lu Family’s house, the whole family was eating dinner in the central hall. Xie Jinghao and Lu Jiasheng sat side by side, silently eating their al, not ntioning a word about what had happened in the house.
Lu Changzhu’s face was red with embarrassnt, but he still braced himself to sit down and eat. He was protective of the two children; no matter what Lu Zhenping said, they were still children born to the woman he loved. Even if that woman had no affection for him, she had given him sons, and such excellent sons at that.
Their conversations had been explicit. If he didn’t stand up for Mingliang and Mingkai, then Lu Zhenping might truly have no place for him, as their father, in his heart anymore.
Lu Jiaxuan’s hand, holding the chopsticks, clenched and unclenched. His heart was still uneasy. Jiaojiao was such a diligent, hardworking, and filial girl, now carrying his child. She had always been so nice to Mingyang and Mingliang before, so why did these two scoundrels dare to bully her?
They were ungrateful wretches that could never be tad, not truly Lu Family mbers. They would never truly stand united with them.
"Bang!" A sudden noise of a door startled everyone sitting in the central hall.
When Liu Sanjin saw Lu Zhenping holding a belt with two little boys following him, her heart jumped to her throat. What was this about? Hadn’t they discussed it just yesterday during the day? The children had made a mistake, and they had not taken it to heart, so why co storming over with such aggression now?
If it were the old days, she would have hurled insults long ago, but now she couldn’t bring herself to speak. And so she anxiously looked towards Lu Changzhu. Seeing Lu Zhenping, the latter still felt happy inside.
"Zhenping, what are you doing?"
Lu Zhenping flicked his belt, lifting his chin towards Mingyang and Ming Liang.
After hesitating for a mont, the two approached Lu Changzhu, who now felt ashad and flustered when he saw his two grandsons, especially after the incident that morning.
"Grandpa, we’re sorry, we were wrong, can you forgive us?"
Lu Mingyang’s apology was delivered straightforwardly and without emotion, but the very act of apologizing left the entire Lu family at the table stunned.
The night before when the two boys were caught, they didn’t utter a single word, just glared at them fiercely. Xie Jinghao, who had not yet recovered, rushed over when she saw Mingyang and Ming Liang being caught but was soon dragged aside by Liu Sanjin. Lu Jiasheng was single-handedly held back by Lu Jiahe and Lu Jiaxuan; thankfully, in the end, Lu Changzhu intervened, otherwise, they would never have been able to return ho whole.
"Grandpa, it was my brother and I who were out of line. You were so good to us when we were little, yet we treated you this way, you must be very upset. Brother and I are sorry, Grandpa, please forgive us. When my brother and I grow up, we will surely take good care of you. We’re sorry, Grandpa, we’re sorry."
This speech made Lu Changzhu’s heart ache with a sour bitterness. He had never been kind to the two children. When Lu Zhenping wanted to adopt the three kids, he was strongly opposed because his own son was so outstanding, he might climb even higher, and adopting these children with a different surna could impact his future prospects.
But now, having heard what the two children said, he felt sowhat ashad.
"Good kids, you’re young, what do you understand? Grandpa doesn’t bla you, it’s alright, go back with your father."
Upon hearing this, Mingyang and Ming Liang felt a sudden joy, not expecting that their grandfather would forgive them so easily. This ant that their mother might also calm down after learning they had admitted their wrongdoing. They both turned to look at Lu Zhenping.
"Now that you’ve apologized to your grandfather, you still need to apologize to your Fourth Aunt. Go on, a man should be brave enough to take responsibility for his mistakes."
"Okay, Dad, we’ll go apologize to Fourth Aunt."
As long as their mother wasn’t angry, they wouldn’t mind apologizing to Fourth Aunt, even if they had to call her Queen Mother.
"Big brother, Jiaojiao won’t hold it against the kids, she isn’t mad at Mingyang and Ming Liang. It’s just, big brother, I really don’t understand. Jiaojiao has been so good to them before, why would they treat their Fourth Aunt like this? I just can’t figure it out."
"What’s there to figure out? Your wife ca to my house and tore out such a big chunk of Ming Fang’s hair, and the girl’s scalp is still swollen. They used to depend on each other, how could they stand by and watch Ming Fang being wronged?"
Lu Zhenping rolled the belt in his hand against his palm, his expressionless face turned towards Lu Jiaxuan, and the words he spoke were chilling.
"But, but Jiaojiao didn’t an to, she went there to help elder sister-in-law break up the fight!"
"Think what you want, but if Mingyang and Ming Liang did sothing wrong, they have to apologize. I know how to deal with my own kids. This is compensation from Shen ng and for the trouble caused by the two boys; this ten yuan is for Dad, and this five yuan is for Jiaxuan’s wife. Since the kids pulled her hair, use this money to go to the commune barber shop and get it fixed up properly."
Seeing that Lu Zhenping, although cold in speech, was making the children apologize and providing compensation, Lu Jiaxuan’s anger faded significantly. Just as he was about to put on a smile and call him big brother, he heard Lu Zhenping say, "I know how to discipline my children, and don’t need outsiders ddling, especially those who harming the kids behind the scenes. I, as a father, will definitely not let it go."
