Lu Zhenping felt his face glowing with pride, rarely seen by Shen ng unless he was in front of his comrades and colleagues.
Noticing Shen ng looking at him, he turned his head and gave her a smile.
"What’s up?"
"Nothing, just that you look quite refreshing this way."
Hearing her say this, Lu Zhenping chuckled. Shen ng had seen all his faces; he rarely smiled in front of his subordinates. Now that it’s rare for them to gather and dine, he felt more relaxed.
Before he left the army, he had thought about it – work life would be like entering a small society, different from the military. After working at the Police Station in the Provincial City for so ti, he easily won over the people there with his previous prestige. But he knew that to perform his job well in the long run, he couldn’t rely solely on that prestige; he needed thods and abilities.
As a leader, one must be both good at networking and managing subordinates – there’s a lot to learn. Whenever he had free ti, he’d go and play chess with the leaders to gain so experience.
"If you find it refreshing, tonight I will sleep with you looking just like this..."
He suddenly moved closer to Shen ng and whispered this into her ear. Shen ng, who was drinking water, nearly choked.
"Take it easy, there are so many people around. Watch what you say."
Seeing his wife’s face turn red, he smiled.
The dinner was a success, with the guests thoroughly enjoying themselves; the dishes were wiped clean, and more dishes ordered twice. They also drank, but stopped at a good point.
When it was ti to part, everyone looked at Shen ng like little fans. The children were particularly happy, with Ming Kai being carried on Chen Du’s shoulders, which made him cry out in alarm.
Lu Zhenping hurriedly took him down and after saying goodbye to everyone, he said to Shen ng, "Wife, you spent quite a bit today. Once I get my salary, I’ll give it all to you, along with the bonus. I’ll keep no pocket money for myself."

"Little pig, chubby pig, big fat pig, brother is a fatty piggy."
Ming Liang was not shy about saying this, nor did he feel embarrassed. He knew his chubbiness was not just fat; it was happiness growing. His mom made so much delicious food every day, so what if he got a little fat? It didn’t bother him at all. He wouldn’t think of dieting – he loved to eat!
The family thus made their way back to the family housing compound.
Seeing Ming Fang getting tired, Shen ng carried her onto the bicycle, pushing it forward, while Mingyang and Ming Liang did not complain of fatigue. Upon reaching ho, they slumped onto the couch, breathing heavily.
Lu Zhenping, with great attentiveness, heated water for his wife and children to have a bath and wash their feet. Fortunately, the weather was warm, and a quick rinse was all they needed before heading to bed.
After Lu Zhenping finished washing up, he hurriedly urged Shen ng to take a bath. She went to close the door, went into her room for a proper bath, ate sothing, and finally regained her strength.

Seeing that there was still ti, she took out so gifts, changed into a new outfit, and rode her bicycle out.

After she left on her bike, a little chubby boy approached Mingyang.
"Your mom is really pretty and speaks so nicely."
"She’s such a worrier though, she gets anxious the mont she can’t see us. Look, even stepping out she keeps telling us what to do, mom loves us too much."
Little chubby boy: "....."

Shen ng arrived at Jiang Huan’s house and as luck would have it, Jiang Huan was just coming back with a basket, having bought vegetables and at from the Cooperative Society. Upon reaching the entrance of the courtyard, she spotted a pretty woman parking her bike, looking very familiar.
She boldly called out, "Shen ng?"
Shen ng turned around with a surprised face.
"Ah, big sis, what a coincidence! I was just worrying about showing up unexpectedly, wondering what I’d do if you weren’t ho, and here I bump into you."
"Why are you here, sis? When did you co to the provincial city? Haven’t seen you for quite a while, I’ve really missed you. Just the other day I got your letter. Co on, co inside with ."
"Yeah, let untie this. I brought quite a lot of stuff, and the knots are tight, haha!"
Shen ngjie untied the knots and slung the bags over her arm, walking arm in arm with Jiang Huan like close sisters.
Although Jiang Huan protested verbally about Shen ng bringing too many things and being too formal, her chin was raised high. The people in the courtyard could hear her hearty laughter early in the morning, and upon looking up, they saw a beautiful woman entering the yard with her.
Everyone in the courtyard was a worker and literate, recognizing the woman who had appeared in the newspapers before, and Jiang Huan kept insisting that it was her "sister’s" woman.
