"Everything according to plan."

November 19, 2076, Thursday Morning.

Soo-ah returned, reporting the completion of the Namdong Industrial Complex land acquisition.

The timing couldn’t have been better—just yesterday, the deforestation of the artificial island had been completed. Two major projects, wrapped up in succession.

"What’s this? Did you dye your hair?"

Soo-ah’s appearance had changed. Her once golden, wavy locks were now sleek and jet-black.

She used to have a playful, lively vibe, but the new style lent her a calr, more composed air. Her sharp eyes, usually softened by her cheerful deanor, now stood out even more.

"I changed it for infiltration purposes during the Namdong operation. It’s actually my natural hair. Should I dye it back?"

"No need."

Golden-haired Soo-ah was good, but black-haired Soo-ah had a fresh appeal.

It added a new layer of excitent, a different kind of thrill. Hugging her now would have a new flavor.

If I get bored of it later, I’ll tell her to switch back.

"Master, as per your orders, I’ve completed the acquisition of Namdong Industrial Complex."

Soo-ah approached respectfully, handing over a thick envelope and a file.

The envelope was packed with land deeds, while the file contained a single, neatly organized docunt summarizing the acquisitions.

"You can consolidate or divide the land however you wish in the future. Since many of the previous designations will likely be revised, proper planning can begin once those changes are finalized."

"This is everything? The entire Namdong Industrial Complex?"

"Yes, about 2.8 million pyeong in total."

Rustle.

I pulled out a few docunts to inspect. Everything was in perfect order, clean and complete—anyone reviewing these would assu they were the result of legitimate transactions.

Despite the tight deadline, the job was executed flawlessly. And it didn’t look like much money was spared, either.

"How much did it cost?"

"A total of 41.3 billion won."

"Not bad. Less than I expected."

"Securing large volus of land in one go played a significant role in reducing costs."

"I see."

Out of the 100 billion won budget I had allocated, Soo-ah only spent 41.3 billion.

That left her with 58.7 billion won to pocket under the terms I’d set.

Of course, she’d have to distribute so of that among her subordinates, which would significantly reduce her actual take-ho amount.

Still, it was a staggering sum.

"Maybe I should make it a big deal—give her so kind of award to celebrate. Personally."

I briefly entertained the idea of hosting a ceremony.

Sothing grand, with all the secretaries gathered, and a stage for to present her reward.

But I quickly dismissed it.

"Nah, just let her take it."

A grand event would be nice, sure.

But with so much on my plate already, organizing sothing like that would only delay everything. Watching a fortune sit idle would be maddening.

And honestly, while 58.7 billion was a lot now, it wouldn’t an much in the future. If I started holding ceremonies for every few hundred billion, it’d get tireso.

Better to just hand it over.

"Set up an account under Goryo Entertainnt, transfer the funds, and get yourself a corporate card. Or just withdraw it if you prefer."

Soo-ah bowed deeply, her face glowing with gratitude.

"Thank you so much, Master!"

Her thunderous response echoed through the room.

"Good. Now, get back to your duties. Transfer any pending matters to Seung-hee."

"Yes, sir!"

"What’s that, though?"

"Huh?"

Soo-ah glanced at a large black canvas bag nearby.

It was moving slightly, and the shape hinted at its contents.

A person.

A woman, judging by the muffled noises coming from within.

"That’s Dan Tto."

"That?"

"Yes."

Soo-ah crouched and gripped the bag firmly. Her voice turned cold and sharp as she muttered, "Stay still."

The tone was so icy it made shiver. Whatever was inside the bag imdiately stopped moving.

Ziiip.

Soo-ah unzipped the bag just enough to reveal Dan Tto’s face.

She pulled away the cloth gag from her mouth.

"Mmmpf—!"

A girl with ashen hair looked up at with a trembling, tearful expression, before quickly lowering her gaze.

"Whoa."

She was cute, her feline-like features strikingly delicate and endearing.

"I secured her on Tuesday, but I waited to report until I’d acquired the overseas holdings as well."

"So you’ve had her for two days…."

What could she have done to make soone who survived that hellhole so visibly terrified?

From what I’d heard, Dan Tto—or Go Hyang—was a capable fixer who thrived in that chaos.

"What did you do to her?"

"Sir?"

"She looks completely spooked. Did you ss with her?"

"Ah, no! She was just a bit unruly, so I… taught her so manners. Basic etiquette."

"A bit?"

It didn’t seem like "a bit."

"You fed her properly, right?"

"…"

Why isn’t she answering? Soo-ah…

We headed to the dining room.

The villa on the artificial island only had seated dining arrangents—no floor seating.

But that didn’t bother .

"Take your ti eating. No one’s going to snatch your food."

"Wuumph?!"

Huh. I had a feeling her na was fitting, but her behavior? She really is just like a cat.

"This is… so… delicious…!"

Every ti the chef placed a dish on the table, her hands barely left it before the plate was licked clean.

Sure, it was all high-end cuisine, but the way she devoured it—she ate with such gusto, almost srizing to watch. The sheer quantity she consud was astounding too.

"How long did you starve her?"

"I, I always gave her proper dinners…."

Even Soo-ah looked stunned as she stared at her.

I suppose being trapped in a place like Namdong Industrial Complex must have left her with a lot of pent-up hunger.

Her stats were decent, but her traits were unexpectedly impressive.

With traits like Stealth, Silent Movent, Light Footsteps, and Silence, it’s clear her specialty is infiltration. Four separate traits for sneaky maneuvers—that’s a rare find.

Though it’s a sha none of them are bolded, which would signify advanced mastery. But that can be addressed with the right implants.

"My secretaries already have invisibility and sound suppression implants by default. I can equip her with similar ones and use her for intel work."

Her lacking combat ability can also be supplented this way.

But what stood out most was her leadership stat—34.

Even lower than mine when I first started.

"She’s destined to be my pet."

Looking at her now, it’s clear she wouldn’t survive on her own. Sure, she might scrape by with pickpocketing or so other petty tricks in the industrial complex, but the outside world? It’s far more unforgiving.

"You like the food?"

"Mmpph, y-yeah!"

"Yeah?"

Soo-ah shot her a sharp glare, and only then did Dan Tto hurriedly swallow her food and squeak out a proper response.

"Y-yes, sir!"

Clearly, Soo-ah had already trained her well.

"That na of yours, it’s unique. Did you co up with it?"

She nodded.

"It’s a strange na, so you’re just Dan Tto now. That’s what we’ll register on your ID."

"!"

"What? You don’t like it?"

"…."

She glanced at Soo-ah, gauging her reaction instead of mine.

Why is she looking at my subordinate and not ?

"You’re my pet now, so I get to na you however I want. Got it?"

"I-I'm a person!!"

"Sure, you’re a person. A person and a pet."

"That’s so cruel…."

"What’s cruel about it? Do you even know how much the food you’re scarfing down costs?"

"Ugh."

Her tear-filled eyes darted between and Soo-ah before she quietly shielded her plate with her arms, as if soone might take it.

"Hah. Don’t worry, I’m not going to take your food. What do you think I am, a thief?"

I snapped my fingers toward the kitchen.

The chefs hurried over in response.

"Yes, sir. Did you call for us?"

"Take her to the kitchen and let her eat there."

"Understood."

"T-the kitchen…!"

Clutching her plate tightly, Dan Tto sprang to her feet and followed the chefs without hesitation.

I couldn’t help but laugh at the sight.

"Is she really the infamous Dan Tto? The legendary fixer?"

"She may look like that now, but her agility is quite remarkable."

"Well, assign a secretary to walk her every day. Make sure she doesn’t get fat."

"Yes, sir."

I really do feel like I’ve gained a pet.
