Chapter 18: Sexy Woman Under the Street Light!

“These little days* really are blind.”

[“These little days” (这些小日子) is a sowhat derogatory slang term referring to the Japanese, often used in historical or nationalistic contexts in Chinese literature.]

“Sothing as precious as a Śarīra prayer bead, and they’re selling it like a street stall trinket.”

Lu Jin looked at the prayer beads in his hand, clearly aged with ti.

The back of the beads was densely engraved with Sanskrit Buddhist scriptures in ancient script. If expected, these beads likely ca from China.

But for so reason, they had ended up in Japan instead.

What a pity—these little days had no eye for treasure, and in the end, it still fell into my hands.

He carefully put the prayer beads on his wrist.

The cool touch cleared his mind instantly.

It was a strange feeling, like switching his brain to a new CPU—things he previously couldn’t comprehend suddenly made perfect sense.

The dormant magical energy in his body also started flowing on its own.

In just a brief mont, it increased slightly.

Bodhi brings enlightennt and wisdom; Śarīra enhances Buddhist teachings.

These prayer beads might not have any offensive or defensive power, but in terms of Buddhist cultivation, they were an absolute treasure.

Simply wearing them was equivalent to constantly practicing Buddhist teachings.

The speed of cultivation had more than doubled.

Having just arrived and already discovering a treasure, Lu Jin’s interest was instantly piqued.

In such a large flea market, this couldn’t be the only treasure—who knew what other good things might be hidden here?

Since he had nothing better to do, he decided to stroll around the market.

And sure enough, he found quite a few good things.

An oil lamp, a broken Vajra pestle, and a piece of damaged ancient jade.

Aside from the oil lamp, the other two were incomplete artifacts.

However, even in their damaged state, the glow they emitted was still far brighter than anything else around.

That ant these three items had a value he had yet to uncover.

His eyes wouldn’t deceive him.

And since he got them at dirt-cheap prices, he didn’t really mind.

He could take them back and study them slowly.

Packing them up and placing them in his backpack, Lu Jin felt the weight pressing down on him with so helplessness.

Every ti he went out, he always carried all his magical artifacts with him. Together, they weren’t exactly light.

But he couldn’t bring himself to leave them at the temple.

Even with the Heng and Ha Generals guarding the temple, there was no guarantee that nothing could get past them.

When it ca to things like this, it was better to be safe than sorry.

“If only I could find a way to get a storage ring or sothing.”

Lu Jin stroked his chin.

Could the enhancent system create a storage ring for ?

Though, it didn’t seem very feasible.

After all, rings didn’t naturally have storage properties, and the system’s enhancent function only amplified the original nature of an item.

Unless he could sohow grant a ring the ability to store things.

Buddhism did have the concept of “Xūmí jièzǐ”*—a mustard seed containing Mount Suru, Mount Suru hidden within a mustard seed—but that had nothing to do with rings.

[*Xūmí jièzǐ (须弥芥子): A Buddhist concept aning “Mount Suru in a mustard seed”—an allegory for vastness contained within smallness, symbolizing the infinite within the finite.]

Lu Jin glanced at his backpack.

The backpack had storage properties, so perhaps he could try enhancing that instead.

Still, it wasn’t as convenient as a ring, which he could carry at all tis.

Checking the ti, he saw the sky was darkening.

There was still half an hour until the last subway train—enough ti to make it back.

Carrying his large bags, he headed toward the subway station.

As he walked along the pedestrian path, he suddenly felt his surroundings becoming unfamiliar.

Without realizing it, he had wandered onto a street filled with the traditional charm of Japan.

Neon signs flickered and overlapped in a dazzling display.

On either side of the street stood won dressed in revealing outfits.

Their attire was bold and provocative—either tight mini-skirts or nothing more than a low-cut top.

They cast flirtatious glances at passersby, trying to attract their attention.

Sweeping his gaze around, Lu Jin spotted several Japanese girls dressed in cosplay outfits, along with a few scattered foreign faces—tall Western won with striking features.

Even though it was still dayti, the street was already packed with people.

“Kabukichō*?”

[*Kabukichō is considered a red-light district with a high concentration of host and hostess clubs, love hotels, shops, restaurants, and nightclubs, and is often called the “Sleepless Town”]

Lu Jin muttered under his breath.

All I wanted was to take a shortcut—how did I end up here?

Could this be fate?

But he wasn’t in the mood for any of this today.

Just as he was about to leave, he suddenly noticed a woman standing by a streetlamp in the corner.

She wore a black evening gown and had porcelain-white skin.

Her black, low-cut dress had an extrely deep neckline, exposing most of her pale shoulders.

Her collarbones were sharply defined, and below them, a deep, unfathomable cleavage was visible.

The woman was tall—not overly voluptuous, but from the side, she had a perfect S-curve.

Her slender waist and perky hips ford an enticing arc.

She wore a black hat with a wide, slightly curved brim, draped in a thin, delicate black veil that partially obscured her face.

Her brows and eyes peeked through the veil, creating a hazy, enchanting allure.

Beneath the hat, her long black hair cascaded down her back like a waterfall.

The dress had a high slit reaching up to her thigh.

With every subtle movent, her smooth, porcelain-white legs flashed in and out of sight.

She wore black high heels, her hands resting behind her back, quietly standing in the corner.

Even though she wore a face mask, her eyes were filled with a natural charm.

Lu Jin observed her—she didn’t seem like a streetwalker at all.

She felt more like an elegant noblewoman simply passing the ti.

But then again, what kind of respectable person would stand on a street like this?
