"Today I have so announcents to make," Dante said as the children slowly settled into their seats, the earlier chalk incident already fading from their attention like morning fog.

The mont he spoke, every pair of eyes turned toward him.

Drake leaned forward imdiately, his earlier sleepiness completely gone, replaced by the alertness of a dragon sensing food.

"What announcent?" he asked, curiosity bright in his voice. "Is it food related? Please say it is food related. Please please please."

Dante glanced over the room once, making sure everyone was listening. His glasses caught the light, giving him an even more professorial look.

"In the upcoming week," he began calmly, "we are organizing two activities."

The class leaned in slightly, breaths held.

"Plantation," he said, "and Sports Day."

For a second, there was silence.

Then—

"WHAT?!"

"Sports day?!"

"GAS?!"

The classroom burst into excitent like a volcano of tiny supernatural beings.

Boo shot up into the air, spinning in circles so fast he beca a blur of ghostly light.

"Sports day? Like gas?" he asked loudly, his voice full of disbelief and joy. "Like running gas? Like jumping gas? Like throwing gas? Like gas where ghosts can win because we are floaty?"

"Yes," Dante replied, nodding once. "Everyone in the kindergarten will participate."

Boo pumped his fist. "YES! Finally! Sports where a ghost can shine!"

Drake practically jumped out of his chair, his wings fluttering behind him.

"Running competition?!" he asked, his eyes shining like stars. "Is there running? Please say there is running. Running is my best thing. Running is my identity. I was born to run."

"Yes. Running, team gas, and other activities."

Luna’s ears perked up instantly, standing straight like radar dishes.

"I will win running," she declared confidently, crossing her arms with absolute certainty. "I am fastest. Everyone knows this. It is fact. It is not opinion. It is science."

Drake turned to her imdiately, fire in his eyes.

"No, I will win. I am a dragon. Dragons are fast. Dragons are the fastest. Everyone knows this."

"You are slow today. You were sleeping all morning. Your legs forgot how to run. They are asleep still."

"That is temporary!" Drake insisted. "I was saving energy. Smart resting. Very smart. Now I am full of running power. Explosive running power."

Luna snorted. "We will see. We will see very soon."

Felix leaned back in his chair, watching the argunt with interest.

"Competition is good," he said calmly. "We will finally know who is fastest."

Luna looked at him. "You are not winning running."

"I know. I am good at other things."

"Like what?"

"Thinking. Watching. Not wasting energy on talking. Also I am smart."

Drake narrowed his eyes. "That sounds like an excuse for being slow."

"It sounds like being smart," Felix corrected. "But maybe that is hard to understand."

Drake growled. "I am smart! I know many things!"

"Like what?"

"Fire is hot."

"Everyone knows that."

"Fire is very hot," Drake insisted. "That is smart to know."

Felix sighed.

Kelpie raised his hand eagerly, little drops of water splashing everywhere, especially on Rocky’s face.

"Sir! Sir! Plantation ans we plant trees?" he asked, his aquatic eyes wide with excitent.

"Yes," Dante said. "Each of you will plant sothing and take care of it. Seeds will be given. You will water them. You will watch them grow."

Kelpie gasped. "I can water them with my water! I have lots of water! I am the best waterer!"

Rocky’s eyes lit up gently, still wiping water from his face from Kelpie’s excitent.

"I can put small stones around my plant," he murmured happily. "Stones help plants. Stones are good friends to plants. They protect them."

"That would be good," Dante agreed.

Rocky smiled softly.

Sable raised his hand, bouncing in his seat.

"Sir! Sir! Can Lucien and I plant together? We want to plant sothing big! Like tree big! Like giant tree that touches the sky!"

Lucien nodded slightly. "If we take care of it, it can grow big."

"Then we will have the tallest tree in the whole castle!"

"Maybe."

"Definitely! We will water it every day and talk to it and it will love us!"

Drake suddenly gasped dramatically.

"Wait wait wait! Sports day ans we get DALS?!"

Dante paused.

"...dals have not been discussed."

Drake’s face fell. "WHAT?! No dals?!"

Luna’s ears drooped. "No dals?"

"But there should be dals!" Drake insisted, standing up. "Winners need dals! Shiny things! Dragons love shiny things! It is dragon law!"

Luna nodded firmly. "Wolves also like shiny things. Wolves deserve shiny things when they win."

Felix raised his hand calmly. "dals are nice. They show you did good. Also they are shiny."

Kelpie splashed excitedly. "dals could be water thed! Blue and sparkly!"

Rocky spoke quietly. "dals could be made of stone? Smooth stone? Pretty stone?"

Boo floated in circles. "dals could be ghost thed! Sparkly! With tiny ghosts on them!"

Sable bounced more. "dals could be shadow thed! Dark and cool like Lucien and !"

Lucien considered this. "That would look nice."

Dante looked at the sea of eager faces, all staring at him with hope and expectation.

Nine tiny supernatural beings, united in their desire for shiny objects.

He sighed.

"...I will think about dals."

The class erupted.

Drake pumped his fist. "YES! Victory is coming! I can feel it in my scales!"

Luna glared at him. "Victory is mine. Accept this."

"Never! I will run so fast you will only see smoke!"

"Dragons don’t make smoke when running."

"Then you will see nothing! I will be gone!"

Felix wrote sothing in his notebook. "dals might happen. Good. Asking worked."

Boo raised his hand again.

"Yes?"

"Sir, if I win a dal, can I wear it all the ti? Even when sleeping? Even when floating?"

"Yes."

Boo’s eyes widened with joy. "Even during bath?"

"You don’t take baths."

"I could start! For the dal!"

Sable tugged Lucien’s sleeve. "If we win dals, can we put them on our wall?"

"Yes."

"Can we put them on the ceiling?"

Lucien blinked. "...Why the ceiling?"

"So everyone can see when they look up. Like stars. dal stars."

Lucien thought about it. "That is actually a good idea. Very easy to see."

Sable bead.

Drake suddenly had another thought.

"Sir! Sir! Another question!"

"Yes."

"Will there be snacks at Sports Day?!"

The entire class went silent.

All eyes turned to Dante.
