On Professor Hobb’s floor, the space felt wide and almost solemn. The ceilings were higher here, and tall windows lined the classroom walls. Alina walked toward one of them and peered inside. Professor Hobb noticed her imdiately and offered her a gentle, reassuring smile.
She smiled back but didn’t step inside. The atmosphere was intense, charged with sothing deeper than written exams. Whatever lesson was happening involved elental focus, and the children inside sat unnaturally still, energy radiating faintly around them. Alina didn’t want to interrupt. She simply nodded to Professor Hobb in greeting and quietly stepped away.
As she walked back down the corridor, Dante’s words surfaced in her mind again.
Anyone can awaken their power.
The thought followed her all the way back to the staffroom.
She collected her things, slipped her bag over her shoulder, and headed ho. By the ti she arrived, hunger hit her properly, so she made sothing simple for herself, eating slowly while her thoughts wandered. Afterward, she noticed a warm sunspot near the window, golden light pooling on the floor like an invitation.
She sat there, closed her eyes, and tried to focus.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful, she thought softly, if I had supernatural power too?
She slowed her breathing, letting the world fade. At first, her mind refused to quiet, but gradually the noise softened. Her body began to feel lighter, almost buoyant, as if gravity itself were loosening its grip. Then she saw it.
Swirling colors.
Her heart fluttered with excitent as the hues shifted and deepened, moving like living paint in the darkness behind her eyes. And then, one by one, familiar faces erged.
Drake appeared first, wrapped in a vivid red aura that burned warmly around him, full of fire, energy, and stubborn willpower. Next ca Vlad Jr., surrounded by a refined blend of pale silver touched with red and other subtle shades she couldn’t even na, complex and noble, layered like his thoughts.
Luna followed, her aura a striking mix of gold and gray. Kelpie appeared next, glowing with a stunning aqua blue, fluid and calm, like deep, honest water. Rocky’s colors ca together gently, gray, gold, and white blending into a lighter hue.
Felix’s aura shone pure white with threads of gold, soft yet radiant, quietly powerful. Then Lucien appeared, and Alina’s breath caught. His aura was deep black, vast and commanding, yet threaded through with swirling white light.
Sable ca after, his aura darker and quieter, layered with shadows that felt gentle rather than frightening, protective and sensitive, like night sheltering sothing precious.
And finally, Boo.
The mont he appeared, the colors surged. Powerful silver light swirled around him in playful, chaotic loops, bright and unpredictable.
The sensation overwheld her.
Alina gasped and opened her eyes suddenly.
The room snapped back into place, sunlight still spilling through the window, but her body tingled from head to toe, warmth humming beneath her skin. She pressed a hand to her chest, breathing slowly, heart racing.
It hadn’t felt like imagination.
It had felt real.
The next day arrived quickly, and it was ti for the language exam. Early in the morning, Alina felt unusually light, a quiet excitent humming inside her. The strange experience from the previous day replayed again and again in her mind, and she found herself wanting to tell Dante about it, to hear what he would think, to know if it truly ant sothing.
In the staffroom, she sat with the others, carefully checking the language paper once more, her eyes moving over every line to make sure there were no mistakes. Exam days always made her extra cautious.
"Lina."
She looked up at the sound of Gabriel’s voice. "Hmm?"
He smiled slightly, leaning back in his chair. "How was the babies’ first exam yesterday?"
Her face brightened instantly. "Good. They did so well. I’m really proud of them," she said warmly, then added with a soft laugh, "though most of them skipped the division and subtraction questions."
Gabriel chuckled, shaking his head. "That sounds about right."
Alina laughed with him, picturing Drake’s dramatic expressions and Boo’s confident chaos, her heart filling again with fondness. As she gathered her papers, her thoughts drifted once more to the hallway where Dante usually appeared around this ti, and she found herself glancing toward the door, hoping she might see him and finally share what she had felt and seen.
Sothing told her that if anyone would understand, it would be him.
However, as Alina picked up her bag and the folder holding the exam papers, her eyes drifted instinctively toward the corridor. She didn’t see Dante anywhere. A small flicker of disappointnt passed through her chest, quick and quiet, and she gently scolded herself for it. Smiling faintly, she adjusted her grip on the folder and headed toward the classroom.
She opened the door.
And froze.
Dante was already inside.
He was leaning casually against her desk, arms folded across his chest, tall and commanding even in stillness. Morning light slipped through the windows behind him, casting soft shadows along his sharp features. His presence filled the room effortlessly, like he had always belonged there.
The babies were seated properly, unusually attentive.
Alina paused at the doorway, eyes widening slightly as she took in the scene.
Dante’s voice was low, smooth, and unhurried as he spoke, nothing stern about it, yet every word carried weight.
"An exam is not sothing to fear," he was saying gently. "It is simply a way to show what you already know. Do not rush. Do not panic. What you learn now shapes how you think later, and thinking well is important for your future."
Drake nodded seriously, chin lifted in determination. Rocky sat straighter, hands folded. Vlad Jr. listened with dignified focus. Even Boo hovered quietly, unusually respectful, as if he sensed this was not a mont for drama.
Dante continued, his gaze moving over the small faces. "Do your best. That is all that is expected of you."
Only then did he notice Alina standing there.
His eyes lifted, eting hers.
For just a second, the world felt oddly hushed.
Sothing warm flickered in his gaze, subtle but unmistakable, and the corner of his lips curved faintly before he straightened away from the desk.
Alina’s heart skipped, then hurried to catch up.
She stepped inside, her voice soft but steady. "Good morning, sir."
"Good morning, Miss Alina," Dante replied smoothly, his tone carrying the sa quiet warmth.
The babies turned toward her imdiately, faces lighting up.
"Good morning, teacher!!"
