Chapter 192: Chapter 192: Hacker Attack Chapter 192: Chapter 192: Hacker Attack Yuan Xi heard the call disconnecting on the other end and scattered the gloom as she opened the surveillance to watch the two children gradually falling asleep in the monitor.

Perhaps the room was overly pink; Yuan Xi woke up at six in the morning and found herself unable to sleep again.

After seeing the ssage from Huo Shiyuan, Yuan Xi replied and then went downstairs to wash up.

Yuan Xi had thought that at six o’clock it would still be early and there would be no one downstairs. However, when she got there, she saw a woman with shoulder-length black hair already eating breakfast.

“Morning.”

Yuan Xi heard the young woman greeting her, but for a mont, she didn’t know how to address her, even though she recognized the woman in the white dress and frad glasses as Secretary Cheng. Yet, Yuan Xi didn’t even know her full na.

Yuan Xi felt she should call her “sister-in-law,” but she didn’t wish to call Chu Lin “brother.”

After so thought, she decided to follow Xiao Shihuo’s way of addressing: “Good morning, Sister.”

Cheng Yue spoke, “The chef has just made breakfast. Would you like so stead buns and soy milk?”

Yuan Xi smiled lightly and said, “Yes, please.”

The freshly made stead buns were thin-skinned and juicy, quite delicious. Yuan Xi received a video call from Huo Shiyuan. She answered, “I’m having breakfast. You’re up early too?”

Huo Shiyuan looked at Yuan Xi and asked, “Aren’t you at the Shiyi Hotel?”

Yuan Xi replied, “I ca back to the Chu Family last night.”

Huo Shiyuan said with a light chuckle, “It’s good to be at the Chu Family.”

Yuan Xi said, “I won’t talk now; I’m eating breakfast. After that, I still have to go to the office.”

Although Mi Chen had settled the issue of the programrs’ departure and the public opinion online, there were still so internal matters that needed attention. With the two children still in City A, Yuan Xi just wanted to handle everything quickly so she could return to them sooner.

Huo Shiyuan advised, “Don’t get too busy with work, wanting to see the kids. If it’s too much, let the nanny and the child-care nurse bring the babies to Jiang City.”

Yuan Xi quickly countered, “That’s not going to work; they’re too young.”

Yuan Xi would rather run back and forth between City A and Jiang City than let the two little children take a car to Jiang City.

Huo Shiyuan said softly, “Take care to get enough rest.”

Yuan Xi saw Huo Shiyuan heading to the hotel gym and responded, “Okay, take your ti working out; I’m hanging up.”

After Yuan Xi hung up, she looked over at Secretary Cheng, who was watching her.

Cheng Yue comnted, “You two have a good relationship.”

Yuan Xi smiled lightly, “Yes, we’ve known each other since we were kids.”

Cheng Yue then asked, “Are you aware of Chu Yan’s current situation?”

Yuan Xi shook her head towards Cheng Yue, “No, I don’t know.”

Cheng Yue revealed, “After she beca pregnant with President Xu’s child from Hengjie Paper Industry, she and Mrs. Xu have been at odds about her becoming the legitimate wife. Bound by interests, President Xu obviously can’t divorce, so recently Chu Yan was sent to Australia. It’s said that an agreent was signed, and the Xu Family bought her a large mansion in lbourne and now gives her half a million dollars monthly as spending money.”

Yuan Xi thought that for Chu Yan, who was accustod to luxury, this was probably the best life she had chosen for herself.

Yet, it still made one sigh.

“Thank you for telling .”

Cheng Yue added, “It was my idea to Mrs. Xu to send Chu Yan to Australia and give her half a million dollars a month.”

Yuan Xi looked at Cheng Yue in surprise.

Cheng Yue said, “You haven’t been in contact with Chu Lin for long, but he’s the type who’s most likely to soften. Chu Yan cannot truly beco poverty-stricken because if he ever does, Chu Lin will definitely support him financially behind his family’s back.”

Yuan Xi chuckled, “Your concerns are valid.”

After eating half a basket of stead buns, Yuan Xi said, “I’m full. I have to go to the office early; there’s sothing I need to handle. Could you tell my parents for ?”

“Do you need the driver to take you?”

Yuan Xi replied, “No need, I drove here last night.”

Yuan Xi’s car in Jiang City hadn’t been driven for a long ti. She had borrowed Gu Hanchen’s car the previous night and could drive it to the office in the morning as well.

It was raining softly that morning, fogging up the car windows severely. The pervasive, oppressive drizzle made it difficult to breathe.

When Yuan Xi arrived at her own office and was dealing with various emails, she received a call from Zhang Tian of the tech departnt.

“Chairman Yuan, we’re under attack from a hacker group.”

Yuan Xi frowned, “A hacker group attacking us?”

Zhang Tian said, “Yes, we’re working hard to fix vulnerabilities, but the hacker group’s attacks are obviously very strong this ti… I relied on connections to find out it’s a well-trained international hacker group called ‘Joker’ that has launched the attack against us. Not long ago, ‘Joker’ had hacked into one of the largest information companies in South Asia and extorted 3.5 million US dollars.”

“Their focus on us is to steal custor information, which we’ve kept very secure, so for now they haven’t succeeded. Now, they’ve started to plant viruses in our system. Our operations team is fortifying our defenses, but we’re short-staffed.”

After hanging up the phone, Yuan Xi had no choice but to find Yiyi’s president and continue to borrow Yiyi’s programrs to help out.

Gu Hanchen rushed over as soon as he received the call and said, “Mi Yi’s tactics are truly vicious; she doesn’t seem to have any regard for the law at all!”

Yuan Xi rembered Mi Yi’s call from the previous night. Establishing Mi Chen wasn’t solely Mi Yi’s achievent, and it wouldn’t be so easy for her to bring it to ruin.

This sort of hacker group operated outside the law, making them difficult to apprehend, but if they could find evidence of Mi Yi’s connection to them, Mi Yi wouldn’t be able to keep herself out of it.

Yuan Xi told Gu Hanchen, “I’ve already gotten Yiyi’s operations team to co help again; they’re more experienced in dealing with foreign hacker attacks.”

Gu Hanchen said, “Mi Yi is disgusting! Did her parents ever teach her the aning of ‘obeying the law’?”

Listening to Gu Hanchen’s curses, Yuan Xi went to the human resources departnt to check Mi Yi’s records.

Mi Yi’s file in the human resources departnt was incomplete; the sections for her parents were blank.

Gu Hanchen managed to quickly find out about Mi Yi’s background. Mi Yi was from City A, her family address was in an old western-style house in the city center of City A, and the property at her address was only 12 square ters large, a type commonly featured in ho renovation shows.

Mi Yi’s family of five squeezed into the 12-square-ter old house until she graduated from university.

Although Mi Yi’s parents grew up in the most prosperous part of the country, they never seized the opportunities presented to them and led unremarkable, complacent lives.

In the year Mi Yi graduated from university, her family of five still could only dwell in the cramped 12-square-ter house.

After graduation, Mi Yi wanted her family to sell the house to fund her studies abroad.

But the house was all they had, worth perhaps only 2.4 million RMB, which wouldn’t even cover the down paynt for another apartnt in the sa area.

If they used one million for Mi Yi’s education abroad, the remaining 1.4 million would not be enough for a down paynt on a house in City A, and they would have nowhere to live. Therefore, they refused Mi Yi’s request to sell the house and study abroad.

Out of anger, Mi Yi completely severed ties with her family and continued her studies at Jiang University.

During her postgraduate studies, through her advisor, Mi Yi learned that Gu Hanchen was looking for a programr with a high sensitivity to gaming. She volunteered and joined Gu Hanchen to establish Mi Chen, and even after becoming a billionaire, she never went back ho.

Gu Hanchen said, “No wonder Mi Yi dares to break the law! Turns out she really didn’t have parents to teach her.”
