Renjiro nodded, his eyes fixed on the horizon. "Good. That ans the main fox tribe can’t be far from here now! We’re getting close."

Elaria tilted her head, her curiosity evident. "Your Majesty," she asked, her tone a bit softer now, "you ntioned sothing earlier... about seeing a creature inside that strange Mist Pearl the murlocs gave you?"

Renjiro paused. "Yes, I thought I saw sothing," he admitted, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "But honestly, it was so quick, I wasn’t sure if it was real or just my imagination playing tricks on ."

He reached into the storage space of his magic ring and carefully brought out the large, pink pearl.

Held in his hands, the pearl felt cool and smooth. It was quite big, easily 30 centiters across, and glowed with a soft, pearly pink light. Its surface was perfectly round and flawless. Renjiro had to admit, it was easily the biggest and most beautiful pearl he had ever laid eyes on.

He focused his attention on it again, peering closely. And this ti, there was no mistaking it. He clearly saw the tiny figure inside. It was a little being, no bigger than his thumb, wearing a dress that seed woven from mist, almost see-through. Delicate, insect-like wings, shimring faintly, sprouted from its back.

Its face, though incredibly small, was perfectly ford and looked remarkably like a miniature, exquisitely beautiful elf.

"Guckoo!! Guckoo!!"

Suddenly, the tiny creature inside the pearl seed to notice him looking. Its delicate face scrunched up in what looked like annoyance, or maybe even anger.

It glared out at Renjiro with tiny, bright eyes and then started making a series of high-pitched chirping and babbling sounds "Guckoo! Tek tek! Freee?" none of which made any sense.

As it chattered, it waved its minuscule hands around, making sharp, jerky gestures, as if trying very hard to explain sothing or maybe scold him.

Whatever it was trying to communicate, Renjiro couldn’t understand a single sound or gesture. It was completely incomprehensible.

Elaria peered intently at the large, shimring Pearl Renjiro was holding, confusion clouding her beautiful features.

"Your Majesty," she said, tilting her head slightly, "I... I don’t see anything inside it. It’s just... empty? All I see is a lovely glow."

Renjiro’s mouth twitched slightly. He knew what he saw. "No, it’s not empty." But he was absolutely certain he wasn’t just seeing things now. He’d suspected before, but now, holding it still...

"No, there definitely is," Renjiro insisted, squinting again at the Pearl’s mysterious depths.

"There’s a tiny little fellow inside, maybe just over ten centiters tall. It looks sort of like a miniature person... no, that’s not quite right." He corrected himself, trying to describe the strange sight.

"More like... like a tiny nature spirit, maybe? Or a miniature elf? It has pointed ears, tiny little arms and legs, and even a tiny pair of wings on its back."

Hearing Renjiro’s detailed description pointed ears, wings, incredibly small size Elaria’s expression suddenly changed.

It was as if a forgotten piece of lore, sothing read long ago, clicked into place in her mind.

The colour drained slightly from her lovely cheeks, her eyes widening as the vague mory sharpened into a look of slowly dawning shock.

Renjiro noticed her reaction imdiately. "Elaria? Does that description an sothing to you? Do you know what this creature might be?"

"Guckoo!" ca a sharp little sound from within the Pearl, surprisingly loud for such a tiny source.

The little figure inside seed to understand Renjiro’s question about it. It put its tiny hands on its hips or where hips would be on such a small form and puffed out its chest defiantly, letting out another indignant chirp that sounded quite furious for its size. It seed offended to be discussed like an object.

Renjiro raised an eyebrow at the Pearl. "Keep making noise like that," he warned, his voice low and slightly amused, "and I might just crack this pretty pearl open to get a better look!"

"Hmph!" The little creature just crossed its tiny arms, tilted its chin up, and glared back defiantly through the pearly barrier. It clearly wasn’t intimidated.

Renjiro blinked, a little surprised by the sheer attitude radiating from the tiny being. "Ah," he murmured, "so you’re trapped in there, aren’t you? Seems like you can understand just fine."

"Guu..." The tiny figure finally gave a small, reluctant nod, looking rather put-upon, as if admitting this fact was a great inconvenience.

Renjiro ignored the little pout from the pearl for a mont and turned back to the still slightly shocked Elaria. "So? Any ideas?"

Elaria took a deep breath, collecting her thoughts, her mind racing through ancient texts she had studied. "Your Majesty," she began, her voice serious now, tinged with awe, "according to the oldest records, the really obscure ones... there are two known types of very special beings, nature spirits of a sort, on the Continent that are incredibly small, matching your description perfectly only about ten or so centiters tall."

She paused, making sure she rembered correctly. "One type is known as the Sea Sprite. Sea Sprites are essentially the elves of the ocean, beautiful daughters of the sea, you could say. They possess extrely powerful magic over water, commanding tides and currents. They don’t worship our Elf Goddess, Elune, but instead believe deeply in the ancient Sea Goddess, serving her and helping to watch over the vast oceans and all the life within them."

She added, "Technically, the Sea Sprites are considered a very distant branch of our own Elf family line, much like the Dark Elves are, though they split off countless ages ago and follow their own completely separate path."

"Okay, Sea Sprites," Renjiro mused. "And the other possibility?"

"The other possibility," Elaria continued, her voice dropping slightly, becoming hushed, "is sothing far, far rarer. Sothing spoken of only in whispers and legends. It’s called... a Dragon Sprite."

"Dragon Sprite?" Renjiro repeated, intrigued.

"Yes. Now, although they have ’Sprite’ in their na, it’s really just a title, a descriptor. They aren’t related to us Elves at all. Not even distantly." Elaria explained carefully.

"The legends are vague, but they say Dragon Sprites are incredibly rare beings ford... sohow... from the very essence or soul-stuff of true Dragons, perhaps through so strange natural magic or an ancient transformation lost to ti. They are born of dragons, in a way."

"Born of dragons..." Renjiro looked back at the Pearl.

"Dragon Sprites," Elaria went on, "are said to hold imnse power, almost comparable to a young dragon in so ways, despite their tiny size. They can’t breathe fire or acid like a full dragon, naturally, but legends claim they have a natural, instinctive grasp of powerful Dragon-tongue magic, the language of creation itself! And they also possess rare and mysterious soul-related abilities, powers that affect the spirit and mind."

She leaned slightly closer, lowering her voice further. "And Your Majesty... to dragons, Dragon Sprites are incredibly precious companions. More valuable than almost any treasure. It’s said that just being near a Dragon Sprite helps a dragon grow stronger, faster, helps them break through bottlenecks in their power, and unlocks their innate potential more quickly. For a dragon, finding a Dragon Sprite is almost as vital and life-changingly important as the great Eternal Tree is to us Elves!"

She shook her head in wonder. "But Dragon Sprites are exceedingly rare. Vanishingly so. Like finding a single specific grain of sand on all the beaches of the world. Many, many dragons live out their entire long lives, centuries upon centuries, without ever encountering one."

After hearing Elaria’s detailed and fascinating explanation, Renjiro’s gaze returned to the tiny, winged figure currently glaring at him from within the shimring Pearl.

"So," he murmured, mostly to himself, his mind processing the incredible possibilities, "is this little one a Sea Sprite, distantly related to my Elves... or is it one of those unbelievably rare Dragon Sprites, tied directly to the ancient and powerful dragons?"

The little creature inside the pearl just looked up at him again, tilted its head defiantly, and let out another sharp, dismissive sound: "Guu! Hmph!" It clearly didn’t appreciate being the subject of speculation.

Renjiro just stared. "...." This creature had so serious attitude.

"I’m afraid only Your Majesty can figure out which one it is!" Elaria said with a helpless sigh. "I can only see the beautiful, soft light glowing from the Pearl itself. I can’t make out the little figure inside clearly at all." She shook her head sadly.

"And honestly, even if I could see it perfectly, I doubt I could tell you for sure. Both Sea Sprites and Dragon Sprites are just too rare. Mythical, almost. I’ve certainly never seen either type myself, not even a reliable drawing."

"Even in all the ancient elf histories and records I’ve studied, there are only vague written descriptions, like the ones I just gave you. No pictures or detailed images were ever recorded, likely because so few elves ever saw one."

Renjiro looked again at the tiny creature trapped inside the large, lustrous Pearl which he vaguely recalled being called a Dream Pearl when he acquired it, though he hadn’t thought much of the na then.

He still found it amazing that such a minuscule being could also be considered a type of sprite, potentially holding such legendary significance and great power. It felt quite magical, almost unreal.
