Before Ellena noticed it, she had already slept straight until the next morning. As she was extrely drained, Aaron didn't bother waking her in consideration.
After a few minutes, the sun fully rose and Ellena showed so hint of waking up. Aaron imdiately went to her side, flying.
"Haaa..." Ellena made a long groan, stretching her limbs as she woke up.
"Good morning." Aaron greeted
"Good morning..."
"It's already the 4th sun and the last day. Do you think we can already leave the forest?" Aaron asked, waiting for Ellena to finish stretching.
"I..." Ellena took a mont before continuing. "I don't know. Do you?"
Aaron chuckled softly. "This is aningless. Let's get your body to work! Morning Routine!"
Ellena laughed softly with Aaron's words. She seems to feel refreshed after having rested for 12 straight hours. Even though she didn't drain her stamina completely, she still felt that it was making her body sluggish.
"Let's go."
It was like the aftermath of an occasion. The feeling of silence covered the area, seemingly indicating there was nothing to do next.
Ellena finally finished her stretching and started jogging. She leaped on every rock and lump of dirt, used the stems of trees as her foothold.
After a while, finishing her mourning routine, she ca to halt in front of a river.
"I feel like taking a bath..." she mumbled.
"Go on. I'll watch out for the area." Aaron said, making Ellena's eyes glitter in joy.
"Thank you!" She said before jumping into the slow-streaming river.
The mont water touched her skin, a surge of energy rushed through her body. It had been almost 2 days since she had gotten a bath. Even though she's not a conservative and hygienic person, she still feels like having a good bath sotis.
After an hour, when she was finally satisfied, she left the river with her clothes soaked, wet, and sticking to her skin.
When Aaron saw it, he almost cursed in surprise.
"What the hell, Ellena! Don't you know anything about being healthy? You're soaked. It's not good. Dry your clothes, just remain in those undergarnts for a while." Aaron said before he rushed to pick up twigs and dried leaves.
'This will leave a nasty burnt sll. But we don't have the luxury of waiting until it gets dried by the sun.'
As Aaron finally finished picking up, he returned and saw Ellena almost naked. However, he didn't feel anything urging inside his system; instead, he felt conservative about Ellena. He looked around the area to see if there were any nearby humans, and fortunately for him, there weren't.
He put the twigs and started forming them for a campfire.
"There. Dry yourself," he said, wanting Ellena to light up the twigs.
Ellena just nodded and made a fire from the twigs. And as the fire started to blaze, he picked up a huge chunk of woods nearby.
Monts later, Ellena felt dried and picked up her clothes dried from the heat of the fire. As she wore it, she slled the burnt scent coming from the clothes.
Her nose instinctively crinkled and looked at Aaron. "Aaron... This has a strong scent. It's hurting my nose, " she complained.
"Don't worry. I'm making an imitation perfu here. At least this will remove the bad scent." Aaron said as he finished squeezing a bunch of flowers.
Ellena's eyebrows raised in perplexity. She can't understand the purpose of it.
"What are you doing?"
"I made a perfu. Though I can't sll it, I think it's good. Here, have a sll." he said and flew to Ellena's side.
Ellena sniffed a little at the flowers and didn't sll any bad scent from them. She unconsciously smiled with her eyes glittering.
"This is amazing, Aaron! It's not bad. How did you do it?"
"Nothing special. Just imitated so primitive ways of making perfus. I made it when you were drying yourself." he said to her.
"Wow..." She dipped her hands in the perfud water and sprinkled it on herself, trying not to wet herself instead.
Ellena slled the burnt scent starting to disappear.
"I'm good now!" she exclaid in joy.
"Good. Then let's find the way to get out. I hope that my theory was right." he said before following Ellena on her run.
Along the way, they run into so monsters. However, Ellena instantly killed them without any effort. She felt that after another almost-draining experience, her body's potential increased strikingly.
Going to the direction where they entered the first day, Aaron noticed the abnormal vibe in the area. Ellena felt it as well, making her glance at Aaron.
"This place seems odd," she remarked as she saw an odd-looking tree.
"Was this even her in the first place?" Aaron mumbled.
The odd-looking tree Aaron saw wasn't the only one around. There were more. As he continued to dart his eyes, he saw more traces of this kind of tree.
The trees were bald. There are no leaves as the leaves were on the ground at this mont. It was as if forcedly removed from the branches.
Also, Aaron noticed signs of a fight. The reason the trees are bald might be because of a fight. However, he did not believe in it imdiately. He looked more into the area to be sure about it, before letting Ellena continue to move.
"This is..." Aaron ca to a halt in his speech when he noticed so gear remains.
"Ellena, co here!" he called out Ellena.
Ellena nodded and went to his side, only to be surprised by what she saw.
Aaron's reason for calling her was not just because of the gear, but also because of the pile of corpses, covered by the leaves.
"What happened here?" They both mumbled.
"Oh... So you're safe?"
Both of them staggered backward when they heard a voice suddenly resound. They didn't notice that there was a person behind them.
The figure was just 3 ters away. However, they couldn't see the face of the figure.
"It's too bad. I didn't finish my job. So, let's just finish this at this mont." he said, sounding uncertain from Aaron's side, and wrinkled his glabella.
The figure emits an eerie aura as it slowly takes a step forward and gets near to Ellena, who was frozen at the mont.
The voice... It didn't match with the face of the voice. Ellena was stiffened. Aaron was also speechless, looking at the figure.
The face of the figure... was familiar to Ellena. As it was embedded in her mory, she can't accept why the face of the mysterious man was the sa as...
"Selena...."
