Mikhail and Kevin walked out of the Hunter Association with an ID card each in their hands.
It was a form of identification accepted throughout all of human society.
’With this I don’t have to worry about lack of opportunities.’
Mikhail thought as he took out his wallet and carefully placed his card inside.
The Hunter Association was the one that collaborated with the royal family and the church.
They worked as a broker between employers and employees for missions such as bounty hunting and protection.
They also managed the rifts and the items hunters brought back from inside, albeit a small number of them.
’With a Hunter ID, I can step inside a rift without much problem.’
Mikhail thought, rubbing his chin.
’Before that, the university should be providing us with a trial rift as well.’
Thinking about it, Mikhail couldn’t help but glance at Kevin.
"When are you going to beco an Ascendant?" Mikhail asked, narrowing his eyes. "Perhaps you want the gap between us to widen."
Kevin put the ID in his pocket and grumbled softly. "I am just a step away. A few more kills and I will be one."
"You had better beco one before the first class." Mikhail advised in an unhurried tone. "They will only allow Ascendants inside the rift."
Kevin nodded his head and gently sighed. "I will visit the nearby forest when I have ti. Perhaps I will get lucky and find so wild beasts."
’I wouldn’t put too much hope on that.’
The area around the city was always heavily guarded by the kingdom’s soldiers, who killed any type of beast nearby to keep the city safe.
’Though Kevin could buy a live beast to kill, I don’t think he can afford it.’
Mikhail thought, glancing at the blonde boy who was admiring the female hunters walking by.
’He will figure it out.’
After walking around for a few minutes, Kevin asked. "Where should we go now?"
’Where should we go...’
Mikhail pondered on the question for a while, unable to decide.
He had first wanted to visit a bookstore but after thinking it over, gave up the idea.
He had already planned to just use the books available in the library if he needed them.
’I highly doubt the library won’t have enough books.’
Then Mikhail thought about the weapons and gear he would need for a hunt.
But he was sure the university would provide such items.
’At the very least, I should wait to earn so money before buying good gear.’
Having nothing else in mind, Mikhail replied thoughtfully.
"Let’s check so restaurants and shops. We will be here for a while so it’s best to know where we can find good food."
"I was thinking about that as well!" Kevin exclaid with a grin. "What’s the point of life if not for good food."
Mikhail’s lips twitched but he didn’t deny his words.
Kevin was already aware of so big nas that sold good food so he naturally took on the role of guide.
Mikhail didn’t object as they both entered the Sun tropolis, which was only a few minutes’ walk from the Hunter Association.
Just as they walked through the streets, Mikhail couldn’t help but notice a foul sll.
Kevin wasn’t much different, pinching his nose and looking down. "What the hell is that?"
Mikhail also looked at the nearest manhole which was open, a few workers cleaning the area.
’But the sll isn’t like a gutter.’ Mikhail thought inwardly. ’The sll is more like those zombies...like a rotting corpse.’
But just as they walked a little further from the manhole, they were hit by a refreshing sll of flowers.
It was so pleasant that Mikhail and Kevin imdiately forgot about the foul scent.
Mikhail glanced at the intersection which had a bunch of red flowers growing around it.
He gave them a long look before ignoring them completely.
They walked towards a restaurant nad "Benjin."
They walked inside and were imdiately greeted by a waiter who provided them with the nu.
Kevin took the nu and ordered ’Desi Chicken Noodles’ for both of them.
Mikhail didn’t stop him while his mind was occupied with sothing else.
’I need to find a way to earn Authority points.’
The next gathering with his summons would be happening soon.
If any of them had clues about the Frenedic Empire, he would have to pay a price.
’I wonder if I can get so cult mbers to kill before that.’
He let out a sigh and resisted the urge to use [Enhancent] on his luck.
He wasn’t doubting his ability but was sure he would get in trouble if he found one.
’How am I supposed to prove that the one I kill was a cult mber?’
There was a chance he couldn’t find any proof and would spend the rest of his life in jail for murder, or he might find a cult mber stronger than him.
’I would be in trouble either way.’
Mikhail rubbed his temples in frustration before letting out a soft sigh.
The food arrived on their table after a few minutes and both of them picked up their utensils.
Mikhail took a sip of the soup and his eyes imdiately lit up.
’...This is good.’
---
After having lunch, both Kevin and Mikhail returned to the university.
Even though it wasn’t urgent, Mikhail wanted to submit all the subjects he wanted in his curriculum.
’It would be a pain if I couldn’t get into the classes I want.’
Walking down the hallway towards his room, Mikhail thought to himself.
Kevin stopped by his own room and gently placed his hand on his cheek.
He then looked at Mikhail and smiled. "I will see you in the evening then."
Mikhail replied. "Sure."
He kept on walking until he reached his room and opened the door with his key.
Once inside, thew, who had been lazing around on the bed, imdiately rushed towards him.
"Were you bored inside?" Mikhail asked with a smile as he picked up the heavy cat. "Damn, you need to go on a diet."
The cat with yellow and black fur glared at him like he understood every word.
Mikhail chuckled and walked towards his room.
Knock! Knock!!
But just as he took a step forward, soone rapped on the door.
’Is it Kevin?’
Mikhail frowned and turned towards the door. He casually opened it and was left speechless.
A mature lady in her late twenties stood in front of him with a polite smile on her face.
What took Mikhail’s attention were her clothes.
....She was wearing a maid uniform.
