I Am the Only Fertile Woman in the Game Chapter 32 32 Foreknowledge
In the following days, Ruka visited Qiao Suisui's bedroom almost every day, sotis during the day, sotis at night. Leberli, on the other hand, visited less frequently, giving her a brief look each ti to make sure everything was fine before rushing away, seemingly very busy. It was as if the two n had an agreent; neither of them ever clashed with the other.
Additionally, the Emperor sent inquiries multiple tis, asking if she needed anything for her daily life or if there were any items to add for the baby. She understood that this was a roundabout way of reminding her to give a response.
When she relayed the ssage that she wished to et Lanze, the Emperor arranged it promptly.
Their eting was set in the Imperial Court's library. When a servant brought Qiao Suisui inside, she was so astonished she couldn't close her mouth.
Although it was called a library, it was more like a museum, with each exhibit room restored on a one-to-one scale in chronological order from the Dinosaur Era, the Human Era, to the rise of the Interstellar age, especially the Ancient Blue Star era. The simulated scenes inside were very close to Qiao Suisui's life before she traversed.
She stood in front of a huge glass display, unconsciously drawn to the arrangents inside, feeling an intense familiarity.
"Is this the world you ca from?"
A pleasant voice ca from behind. Qiao Suisui turned around and saw a slender young man slowly descending the spiral staircase.
He was very straight-backed, but appeared quite frail compared to other males. His skin was the shade of soone who hadn't been exposed to sunlight for a long ti, and he had neatly trimd ink-blue hair.
Seeing his face, Qiao Suisui couldn't help thinking that if this man debuted in her era, he would probably be a top-tier celebrity.
Because that face was truly magnificent.
Unlike Ruka's handsoness and differing from Leberli's rakish charm, it was a face one could never forget. Unfortunately, his eyes were like still water, completely unfocused.
Lanze descended the stairs and stopped a few steps away from Qiao Suisui, not coming any closer.
"If you like, you can co here often. It's usually quiet."
Qiao Suisui heard before she ca that Lanze disliked socializing and rarely interacted with others. He would either be in his own bedroom or in the library. This was also the reason why she had never seen him during her many days at the Imperial Court.
"You must have heard," she cut to the chase. "I want to know what you think about it?"
Lanze was taken aback and then shook his head with a light chuckle.
"To make your First Spouse would be to sell you short."
Suisui cocked her head, knowing he couldn't see, so she freely scrutinized his expression. Seeing that there was neither reluctance nor self-mockery when he spoke, but rather a refreshing candor, she felt an increased fondness for him.
"I want you to be my First Spouse," she said.
Lanze was surprised, not expecting her to say that. He had thought Qiao Suisui ca to express her refusal, since his father, as a senior and the Emperor, made it difficult for her to decline, so she had sought him out to speak in person.
He understood his father's intentions and the importance of progeny to the family, but he disliked forcing matters. With his own condition, to occupy the precious position of the little female's First Spouse would be a waste. He had been deprived of his senses since childhood, unable to taste sweetness or bitterness, unable to sll any scent. But these were minor issues. Initially, he couldn't hear anything until his father arranged for an artificial ear canal to be implanted, and only then did he discover that the world had sounds. As he grew older, he could gradually use his spiritual power to sense his surroundings. Although it could partly replace his vision, he had never seen colors, only able to outline the shapes of people and objects through the tendrils of his spiritual power... However, these weren't the most frightening; the most terrifying fact was that he lacked pain perception.
This made it almost impossible for him to avoid danger and protect himself in ti whenever he faced trouble from childhood to adulthood, and even after being injured, he was unaware of it, nearly resulting in his death.
Perhaps it was a blessing in disguise, for at the age of ten, he awakened his Talent—foreknowledge.
At first, he could only predict trivial matters, such as anticipating a cut the next day, which could lead to complications if not dealt with promptly. He tried to avoid it after his prediction, and indeed, the rusty nail did not end up cutting him. Realizing he could change the future, he was undoubtedly excited.
But he soon couldn't be happy about this Talent, as he began to constantly foresee other people's destinies, even if it was just brushing past them, rely standing together breathing, or soone entering the range of his spiritual power, he'd uncontrollably and rapidly see that person's entire life.
He rembered the first ti he witnessed the destiny of the servant who had accompanied him since childhood; he was devastated. He tried everything to prolong the servant's life, to delay that day, but he discovered a harsh truth: he could only change his own future through foresight, others' fates were unshakable, even if he warned and reminded them, it would only beco a part of the tragedy's unfolding.
He hated his Talent, so he started to avoid contact with people as much as possible. Knowing everyone's end made it difficult for him to form emotional attachnts because he feared that feeling of powerlessness, that he knew what the future held, yet he could do nothing but watch events unfold helplessly.
"...So, I want to hear your thoughts," Qiao Suisui said seeing him lost in thought, slowly stating the purpose of her visit. "Would you be willing?"
"What?"
Surprise lingered on his face, even though he had clearly heard her words, his brain was a blank, incapable of any reaction. The only female he had ever been in contact with since childhood was Isabella, and the number of tis he could count them on one hand; faced with the proposition of this little female in front of him, Lanze's ears turned red to the point of bleeding in an instant.
"You, you an, for to beco your spouse?"
"Yes, the First Spouse," Qiao Suisui emphasized.
"Why?"
"I need a ho."
"Ho?"
A ho built by her, governed by her rules, with absolute control.
Perhaps it's more appropriate to call it a base.
Since arriving in this otherworldly place, Qiao Suisui had thought it through. Depending on anyone has its unreliable monts; living in Ruka's secondary palace, people from the Zong Fang and the Federation could easily take her away, residing in a birdcage crafted by Zong Fang ant having no freedom except by his say, dwelling in the Imperial Court ant that although Leberli could protect her for a while, the Emperor could still manipulate her using Ruka's future as leverage... Therefore, only by having her own territory could she attain relative freedom.
Lanze murmured the word 'ho,' unaware of Qiao Suisui's true intentions, his face visibly reddening more and more.
Qiao Suisui took the initiative to step forward, drawing closer to him, and without realizing it, stepped into his spiritual power range within two steps.
Lanze suddenly paused, as nurous images flashed before him unexpectedly.
He gasped for air, clutching the clothes in front of his chest tightly, his azure-blue eyes as tranquil as the ocean, yet his heart churned like roaring waves and fierce winds.
"You..."
