The man paused upon hearing her, his usual calm and decisive self finding the person in his arms unusually hot to the touch. Yet, he didn't want to put her down, nor did he wish to.

His hand caressed her lower back, then slid upwards. The rough pads of his fingers traveled over her delicate skin. His breath grew heavier, the color of his eyes deepened, and he stared at her unabashedly, his gaze intensely affectionate.

Qiao Suisui cupped his face and gently pressed a kiss. It was quick and provocative.

"Not now..." He laid a hand on her pregnant belly. Despite his rising desire, he was very restrained.

"It's okay, I have a special constitution. The baby won't be affected."

Upon hearing this, he leaned in to kiss her passionately, closing his eyes involuntarily, yet after the deep kiss, he reluctantly left her lips.

"You're lying to again, aren't you?"

He knew all too well her cunning ways and dared not take her words at face value, especially since her attitude today changed too swiftly. He harbored suspicions, yet he didn't wish to delve deeper. Perhaps even he himself had not realized that he didn't want to believe it was all a lie.

"Forget it, I'm hungry."

She pretended to be annoyed and pushed him slightly. Zong Fang's heart blossod with joy, finding her cunning so endearing. If possible, he yearned for her to play these harmless tricks more often.

The man chuckled low from his chest, holding her and kissing her for a long while.

The cubs of a lion beastman are larger than those of other beastn, and giving birth is not easy. He had always been extrely anxious about the child she carried; now more than ever, he couldn't let her endure any mishaps. Feeling that they had cleared the air between them and that there was plenty of ti ahead, he believed her health was of utmost importance, his own desires could wait if they must.

"Qiaoqiao, be good, we can't do this now. After you give birth safely, I will satisfy you thoroughly."

Even though she was prepared, Suisui's face still flushed crimson at his words. Seeing her reaction, he grew even happier, kissed her forehead, and carried her to the dining room.

The days that followed beca much easier. The man of frequent mood swings no longer tested Qiao Suisui through oppressive ans. But occasionally, driven by his possessiveness, he would deliberately leave her alone with a male assistant for a short while.

At first, she did not pay much attention and chatted and laughed with the male, learning that his na was Renol. That was until Zong Fang returned with a darkened expression, sent the male away, and then clung to her, hugging and nibbling on her, leaving her gasping but not going any further. After several such instances, she finally realized.

It turned out he was still testing her, but this ti it was a test of her loyalty.

Qiao Suisui sneered inwardly, feeling she had gained another step in manipulating him. She knew exactly how to satisfy Zong Fang's perverse possessiveness. So when she was in a good mood, she would ignore Renol, clinging to Zong Fang instead, and sure enough, he would co in, pretending to be nonchalant but his eyes betraying amusent. But when she was annoyed, she would deliberately fall into Renol's arms, wrapping her arms around his neck, infuriating Zong Fang to the point of going berserk, threatening to wreak havoc, and even commanding that no male should approach her again.

She saw it all and didn't react, letting him rage on without her interference.

Zong Fang thus suffered her hot and cold treatnt for a while and lost the interest in testing her. He began to stay by her side every day under the guise of research, ostensibly for a record of human observations.

She had previously asked for eggs, flour, and so ingredients that simply weren't available here; I had no idea what she was up to. I managed to gather most of them through connections in the black market, so of which I had never even heard of, and she still complained that there were things missing.

Within three hours, the kitchen blew up twice.

The books say that Ancient Humans had perfected the art of food preparation to the point of it being an art form. Hmm... it seems this conclusion might be a bit too premature and based on an insufficient sample size.

She gave up the kitchen and turned her attention to agriculture.

The research center had a piece of experintal farmland, which was usually planted with dicinal herbs. She took a fancy to it, saying she wanted to plant so potatoes.

I asked her how she planned to plant them, and she said, "Dig a hole, bury so soil, and count one, two, three, four, five."

After expressing my doubts in a ticulous manner, she got angry. So I went back and did a lot of research.

Potatoes, scientific na Solanum tuberosum, a species in the nightshade family. They have a short growth cycle and high yield, and can reproduce through asexual tubers. I found a similar interstellar species called patata and gave her the seeds. Finally, she talked to again.

Her appetite has been better lately; the baby must be growing day by day. I feel like her belly has gotten a bit bigger today. She was a little down because her clothes were too small, so I blurted out 'you've gained weight,' and then she started ignoring .

Wait for it, tomorrow I'll bring her all the new clothes, and we'll see if she's still sulking with .

The estimated delivery date is in a month and a half.

I've had several etings with many old scholars. Those old fogeys are incredibly rigid, only knowing how to show off their book smarts but inexperienced in dealing with the details and contingencies of human childbirth. After much research, I decided to hire the most renowned obstetrician in the beastman world to deliver the baby for her.

This is a rare opportunity to collect data on the human childbirth process and various physiological signs. I'm looking forward to the day she gives birth.

However, it seems she has no concept of this. Today I caught her climbing a ladder in the library to fetch a book. It wasn't until I carried her down that I realized my back was soaked with fear. In my anxiety, I scolded her (I think my tone was fine), but then she started ignoring again.

Are all human emotions this hard to decipher, or is it just her?

She was in a good mood today, I heard her humming a song. That lody has been stuck in my head all day, I even subconsciously humd it during a eting, and everyone looked at as if they had seen a ghost.

She went to bed earlier than usual today, nothing special, just felt like making a note of it.

I was busy today, didn't see her the whole day.

She should be asleep by this ti, and if I go in now, she would get angry at for being noisy.

But I didn't see her at all today.

Supplent: Saw her. Woke her up. Took an hour to soothe her.

Next ti soone asks for a eting at night, I'll make them work overti.

Why has she never been curious about ?

It's nothing, no need to record, forget it.

She didn't ask a single question about my absence for four days.

I couldn't help it.

It was who went to see her after all.

She's only cute when she sleeps.

On second thought, there's nothing to be angry about.

Forget it.

Humans have no heart.

Star Year May 1, 9 A.M.

Lately, she has been very sleepy.

Right now, I'm sitting by her bed, writing today's observation report and waiting for her.

The due date is approaching.

I've been researching every day until dawn these past few days, because an assistant ntioned that humans tend to have hemorrhages during childbirth, and I've been finding lots of data to refute this conclusion.

The mortality rate due to hemorrhage during childbirth is 33%.

33%...

I hope that day cos later, much later.

She is awake, I'm going to take her temperature.
