Federation Central.

On the ten-ter-long rectangular conference table, the faces of everyone present bore a look of somber gravity.

After a fruitless discussion, everyone instinctively concentrated their gaze on one place—the person sitting in the leather swivel chair right at the front center. With their back turned to everyone, only the hand holding the cigar and the swirling smoke above their head could be seen.

"Chief of State Lord, what do you think... should we do with that Ancient Human?" soone at the table couldn't help but ask.

The leather chair remained still; the person seated there took a puff of their cigar. After a long pause, they slightly waved their hand, and the secretary standing beside them imdiately nodded and projected a research report onto the screen.

"According to the report, there is a precious factor called Peptide Amine in the genes of the Ancient Humans. If we could extract Peptide Amine and mass-produce it as a dication, it would be possible to calm down the Beastn when they go into a frenzy."

Soone questioned, "Does it really work?"

The secretary nodded without changing their expression, "We've extracted 0.01% of Peptide Amine from the sample of Ancient Human blood stored at the Ancient Human Research Center. After using it on experintal Beastn in a frenzy, the success rate of calming them reached 60%."

Upon hearing this, there was a stir among those present.

If 0.01% could yield a 60% success rate, then if the concentration were increased, wouldn't it be possible to enter an era where everyone could be freed from their frenzy? That would be of significant importance!

For a mont, the conference room was abuzz with discussion.

Soone hesitantly said, "If that's the case, why does the Pri Minister still allow Ancient Humans to roam free without restraint?"

"I think the research center should take over as soon as possible."

"Have you all forgotten? Last ti it was handled by the Ancient Human Research Center. What was the result? Not only did the person escape, but they also turned Zong... that madman beca her follower. In my opinion, this Ancient Human cannot be underestimated."

At this point, the gazes of the people discreetly turned towards Pri Minister of Soter, Zong Yan, who was seated among them. Soone even coughed twice and gave the speaker a look, signaling them not to say any more.

Zong Yan, as always, appeared seasoned and composed, closing his eyes and not joining in the conversation, as if the person they were discussing had nothing to do with him.

The swivel chair turned, and the person at the high seat finally revealed their face.

The left half of his face was covered with a silver mask, and despite appearing to be approaching his twilight years, he looked vigorous and spirited, with eyes like those of a hawk, naturally commanding and intimidating.

The secretary, seeing that the leader had turned around, quickly and steadily picked up a mini gaphone and placed it at his throat. The leader's mouth didn't move, but a raspy and dry voice emanated from the gaphone—

"What's the point in catching fish that foolishly bite the bait? It's only the fish that can call its friends, leading a school of fish into the net, that is truly valuable."

Upon hearing this, everyone seed contemplative.

"Wei Shou."

The secretary heard the Pri Minister calling his na and promptly stood at attention to salute.

"Go and take good care of our little fish. The line shouldn't be too tight, nor should it be too loose."

"Yes."

...

After the matter with Zong Fang was settled, Qiao Suisui was incredibly busy.

First of all, the level of discussion about her throughout the interstellar community not only kept increasing but also, gossip about her known as 'scraps of information' was erging incessantly, and it was all vague hearsay from unknown sources. There was even a rumor that she had accumulated eighteen spouses. The number of people joining Freedom had already reached a million up to now, with applicants ranging from those seeking novelty to catch a glimpse of the excitent to Qiao Suisui's dedicated fans, to enthusiasts of Ancient Humans, and even those who wanted to beco one of Qiao Suisui's spouses... It could be said that out of every ten males who could use the internet, eight had submitted applications, and so even turned their ten-minute introduction videos into matrimonial profiles.

Qiao Suisui had to sift through this vast crowd to select those who truly wanted to join the organization, which required a lot of ti. Fortunately, she wasn't 'fighting alone'. The first level of screening was conducted by Ruka, commanding Angsi to use a program to automatically filter out applicants with impure motives, problematic identities, or those who did not et the requirents. Those who qualified were funneled into the second level of screening; three rounds of interviews that rigorously controlled and eliminated candidates from eight different dinsions. Subsequently, the third level of screening involved stress tests to see if these candidates would act violently under extre circumstances or display selfish and harmful behavior. By this level, 80% of those with questionable character had been eliminated.

It could be said that the candidates had to pass through a selection funnel, being screened layer by layer, before they could join the organization.

This work was not a one-off but cyclical, since the organization was large and new applications were constantly submitted. Therefore, selection had to be conducted in batches, and only the nas from each batch that were screened were finally seen by Qiao Suisui.

"This batch has a total of 22 people; their information is all here." Ruka transferred an encrypted file to Qiao Suisui's Light Computer and took the ti to introduce each person's details to her.

As Qiao Suisui leaned against him, flipping through the pages, she stopped at a line and asked, "Is there actually a female who submitted an application?"

Ruka nodded, "Yes, she's the only female in this batch. After investigation by Angsi, it was found that she's a subpar Artificial Female with incomplete intelligence."

In reality, this female didn't make it through the three rounds of interviews. She was stopped by the program in the first round, but Ruka had insisted on adding her na at the end.

Qiao Suisui opened her introduction video and found that the entire video was only two minutes long.

Throughout the two minutes, the girl in the fra kept rocking back and forth, with uncontrollable twitches in her expression, and spoke in a stuttering manner, yet she persisted in introducing herself.

"My na is... Ellie... brother, brother, afraid, afraid of big shadow...."

Qiao Suisui replayed her words twice, but still couldn't make sense of what the girl nad Ellie was trying to say, though it was clear she was trying to convey sothing.

"You specifically kept her here - have you found sothing?" Qiao Suisui asked Ruka.

"Yes, her brother used to be the steward of my secondary palace."

Qiao Suisui was sowhat surprised, "You an Evon?"

It was the steward Evon that had colluded with the people from the Federation when they took her away.

"That's right." Ruka squeezed her hand gently and explained the whole story.

It turned out that after Ellie was rescued by Leberli, she had been living with her brother Evon, but one day Evon never returned ho, and Ellie lived a stumbling life alone using the pension given by Leberli. However, recently she started being harassed by a Brown Bear Beastman. Due to Ellie's inferior genes and incomplete intelligence, the male forced himself upon her without taking responsibility, only coming by occasionally to relieve his desires.

Ellie's intellect was equivalent to an 8-year-old child's, with just poor language developnt. She knew to cry for help when faced with such situations. When the Brown Bear Beastman visited again, Ellie's cries for help resulted in her being grabbed by the hair and slamd against the wall. Thereafter, kicking and beating beca commonplace. Ellie no longer dared to cry for help, feeling utterly helpless, or perhaps by chance, when Qiao Suisui's video went viral on the internet, she watched it hundreds of tis.

Ellie didn't completely understand Qiao Suisui's words, but there was a line she kept replaying—

"Weak ones, are you struggling in pain...."

Seeing the girl in the video with long hair like hers, with a pleasant voice and firm speech, Ellie intuitively wanted to believe, to seek help. Hence the video Qiao Suisui was now watching ca to be.

Looking at the girl on the screen with compassion in her eyes, Qiao Suisui turned to Ruka and asked, "So the 'big shadow' Ellie ntioned... is that Brown Bear Beastman?"

Ruka nodded.

"Then you just ntioned that this matter also involves Ash. What do you an?"
