[DETECTING UNKNOWN MUTATION...]

[A NEW SPECIES IS REGISTERED]

[PLEASE NA YOUR NEW MUTATION]

Siderius typed into the black mirror of the SYSTEM.

"Let’s na this new mutation as... Upyr."

[NEW MUTATION IS REGISTERED]

[UPYR NO.1 IS READY TO GRAFT]

The two eyeballs hovered on top of Siderius’ palm. They were engulfed by rcury and ready to be inserted into his eyes.

Siderius took out a small needle from his dical pack. He disinfected the needle and plunged it into each eye, creating openings for the mutation to enter.

Then he shoved the two rcury eyeballs into his eye sockets. It shot up from his hands and quickly enveloped his entire vision. The new mutation found its way into the small hole, starting to change the base nature of his eye.

The first eye mutation was Strix Ocula. It provided Siderius with exceptional night vision and the ability to see Mana.

The second eye mutation was Pardus Ocula. It provided Siderius with adjustable pupils, the ability to judge the exact distance within 30-ter, and the power to see movent trajectory.

Siderius also awoken a natural mutation that allowed him to see the karma of every single person.

This ti, it was Upyr Ocular. Siderius was truly curious what its initial ability would be and the final power he’d gain once he finished the psychosis conversion.

His eyes burned like it was doused in acid. But the hunter was way too familiar with these pain. He sat in the morgue silently and waited for the mutation to settle in.

[PSYCHOSIS EXCEEDS NTAL CAPCITY]

[MUTATION COLLAPSE IS IMMINENT]

Siderius’ eyes shot wide open. His eyes flashed all the colors of the rainbow. Non-stop images and emotions flooded to his mind.

His face changed and beca monstrous.

Dark veins appeared around his eyes. Owl feathers sprouted on his cheeks. Black oil leaked out instead of tears.

Siderius gasped for air. His two teeth grew longer and beca vampire-like fangs.

He squird on the floor, fighting back the psychosis.

"By touch and taste, by scent and sound.

No chaos placed, on hallowed ground."

Siderius mumbled the Ring of Sense repeatedly. He used all the ntal strength he had to quickly construct a ring inside his dark mind space. His hands ford the sign sequence.

"By touch and taste, by scent and sound.

No chaos placed, on hallowed ground."

Siderius’ whispers turned to shouting. He held on for dear life to his ntality.

Rea stepped into the morgue.

"My lord?!"

She saw Siderius was in pain and wanted to help him. But Siderius raised his hand.

"Stand there! Do not co close! Do not let anyone in!"

Rea nodded solemnly. She shut the door behind and leaned her back on it.

Siderius managed to sit up into his usual ditating position. His hands repeatedly ford the Ring of Sense sign sequence, one after another.

"By touch and taste, by scent and sound.

No chaos placed, on hallowed ground."

Inside his mind, there was no image or projection of Milla. Instead, it was a pair of red eyes floating in the bottomless darkness.

Nine Rings was not designed to deal with this type of superficial projection. It made Siderius’ attempt at constructing a ring even more difficult.

"No. I can’t use the sa thod as before. The location of the ring needs to be different."

In real ti, Siderius changed the sign sequence. In turn, it also changed the properties of the Nine Rings.

Each projection of the mutation was the symbol of its original owner’s psyche. Each ring was used to literally restrict the movent of the projection.

But you couldn’t restrict a pair of floating eyes. You could only blind it.

The new ring ford on the surface of the left eye. Siderius’ blue ntal energy flooded to the blood red sclera and created a faint ring circling around the pupil.

The adjustnt was a success because Siderius could feel that his Mutation Collapse had slowed down.

"Rea! In my bag! Find five bottles with a painting of a rose on it."

"Yes, my lord!"

Rea opened up Siderius’ small satchel and took out the Heart Rose Extract that Siderius bought from Erin.

Once the ring stabilized, Siderius chugged the five bottles of Heart Rose Extract down.

[MUTATION COLLAPSE IS HALTED]

[PSYCHOSIS LEVEL: 193/200]

Siderius breathed out. The feathers stopped growing. The dark veins disappeared and subrged under his skin.

His long vampire fangs shortened and returned to the usual length of a human.

Siderius continued to ditate. He wanted to solidify the new Ring of Sense.

Rea sat beside him patiently. Her worried eyes stayed fixed on him.

A few hours later.

[PSYCHOSIS -2]

[PSYCHOSIS LEVEL: 191/200]

Siderius opened his eyes and let out a long relieved breath.

"That was close." He mumbled.

"Are you alright, my lord?" Rea worriedly said.

Siderius nodded. "I am fine. Just an unexpected accident.

Thank you, Rea."

Rea shook her head gently. "It is my responsibility, my lord. I am your servant. I am here to take care of you."

Siderius smiled softly. He instinctively patted her head like he’s patting Ashe’s.

Siderius froze mid-motion and looked at his hand. He wasn’t this kind of man. The kind that would express his gratitude physically. He had to admit that Snow’s soul had affected him deeply. Making him softer and more sensible.

Whether this was a good thing or not was still to be determined by Siderius.

"I have an apprentice. She’s supposed to inherit my legacy. I think you two will be great friends."

"If you say so, my lord." Rea smiled. Her eyes were filled with relief and joy. She really only cared that Siderius was fine.

Siderius observed her and contemplated. Rea already knew how to survive in the woods. She didn’t know how to hunt but Siderius could teach her quickly. Rea was also very sharp and she learned fast.

What’s important was she was very bright. Not as bright as Ashe obviously. But she had more with and wisdom than Ashe.

"Do you want to beco my second apprentice, Rea?"

"Pardon , my lord?" Rea widened her eyes.
