Two weeks had passed.

Under the slope of a rocky hill, there was a bear? It had no eyes and its jaw hung wide open all the ti.

It looked into the open field at the foot of the hill, only to spot an ordinary mountain lion walking on the grey path of stones and pebbles.

Siderius leaned back and put his hood down. The hood was the head of the grizzly bear he had killed. His cloak was its fur that covered his entire body nicely. Looking from above, one could easily mistaken him for a real bear.

His new cloak was made from the bear hide. Originally it only had a gray color on the shoulder and back. But after turning it into the cloak, the fur had a deep gray color.

Siderius used a plant with very high Air-elent concentration to make sure the hide would be flexible and flowing. The side effect made the brown color disappear completely, turning the entire fur into gray.

He had been tracking the Panther for two weeks now. He spotted a lot of large gas. Wolves, mountain lions, boar, etc. He even spotted another grizzly bear near the river.

This was the true reality of hunting. You wouldn’t be rewarded quickly and hunting needed ti and patience.

That day, Siderius tracked so big animal trail to the rocky hill, hoping to see the Night Panther.

Unfortunately, it was another mountain lion.

The air had gone much colder the last few days. Where Siderius was sitting right now even had so floating snowflakes dancing in the air.

He looked up to the grey sky and let out a huge puff of white fog.

Luckily, his bear cloak had been keeping him perfectly warm.

"I should head back. I’m going to stay for another week. But if the panther won’t show up, I think it’s best for to move on." Siderius thought.

As he was standing up, he saw a large shadow in the far distance of the foothill. Siderius quickly ducked down to reduce his visibility.

It was dusk. The sun was going down in the far West. It was the best ti for twilight animals to go hunting.

Animals like the Night Panther.

The mountain lion hadn’t discovered the dangerously close threat yet as it continued to stroll on the rock path.

Suddenly, a large panther rushed out and jumped at the mountain lion. The predator was now the prey.

The mountain lion didn’t back down. It t the attack and struck back. Its mouth opened wide and its sharp claws slashed at the attacker.

But the mountain lion was too small compared to the panther. It was overwheld and pushed down to the ground.

While they’re fighting, Siderius prepared his weapons. First, he slotted the Blazing Soul into the orange-red scabbard to soak it with the solution inside.

The red scabbard held a combination of sword oil and slagpaste, the sticking glue that could easily catch on fire and could burn for a long ti.

The solution stuck on the blade naturally without leaking down. It ford a dense layer outside of the blade.

Then, Siderius slotted Blazing Soul back to the black scabbard.

He continued to bring out a jug of slagpaste and dipped his obsidian arrows inside in.

In the previous battle, the panther was very scared of fire. Siderius intended to use that to his advantage. These flas wouldn’t be as terrifying as Phosphorus fla but it surely would hurt the panther.

Once everything was prepared, Siderius put on his bear hood and carefully approached the two animals.

The mountain lion was very quickly defeated. With a bite to the neck, the panther killed it off.

The difference in size of the two animals was huge. There was no way that the mountain lion was going to win. But it fought valiantly.

The Chaos Beast feasted on the flesh of its fresh kill.

"Hmm? So these Chaos Beasts still need to eat. They aren’t fully run on magic fuel."

Siderius approached it within twenty ters. The ears of the panther stood up.

Siderius instantly ducked behind a large boulder.

The panther raised its head and looked around. It heard sothing but it didn’t know if it’s a threat yet.

The panther scanned the area carefully. anwhile, Siderius slotted an arrow into the bowstring.

Siderius stayed silent and still.

The panther looked around repeatedly. Its instinct was screaming like an alarm bell. But it didn’t spot anything.

It’s still looking.

Minutes went by. Siderius patiently waited.

The peaceful air slowly cald the panther down. Its guard was lowered. The panther lowered its head to chomp the corpse of the mountain lion.

Instantly, Siderius raised above the boulder and released his bowstring. He aid slightly lower to compensate for the beast’s reaction.

Without stopping, Siderius connected the next four arrows imdiately, shooting at the surroundings of his first arrow. He emptied his draw hand in a flash.

The panther ducked down as it heard the screeching noise of the arrow splitting the air. Its head snapped to the direction of the shot.

The arrow ca straight into its upper body, slightly above its front leg. The panther jerked its head in front of the arrow and snapped it in half as the arrow entered its mouth.

The second arrow aid at its head. The panther swung its head to the side, deflecting the arrow away.

The third arrow plunged into its hind leg. The panther wailed then jumped back to avoid the fourth arrow, aiming at its stomach.

The fifth arrow was aid slightly higher. As the panther jumped, the arrow entered the upper part of its back.

The fla burned intensely on its dense oil-like liquid skin. Oil drops leaked to the ground constantly.

The panther looked at the arrows on its body. It was more irritated than in pain. The panther recognized these obsidian arrows.

Its head turned slowly toward the hunter. Its golden eyes narrowed into two vertical slits as it focused.

The hunter and the panther stared down at each other.
