The Spread of Hope

The reaction of the Silver Governnt did not exceed Fang Liangye's expectations.

From the Silver Governnt's attitude towards the "Queen of Diamonds," one could actually see the apprehension in their hearts. After all, with the Silver King absent, the one in power was rely a Rank 8 Thief Saint. To control the entire Wuji Domain was not that simple.

"Do they have any movents?"

"Yes!" The teenager nodded heavily. "Early this morning, after the sanitation workers reported the incident to The Church, The Church was imdiately brightly lit. Not long after, a large number of Fire-Stealers rushed out and searched outwards along several streets... And then, several Adjudication Proxies holding various weapons mobilized almost all together."

Hearing this, Fang Liangye was sowhat surprised, and he couldn't help asking:

"You are... Cao Jun, right?"

"Yes Mister Fang, I just joined the union two days ago!" The teenager held his head high.

"Where did you get this news from?"

"Mister Fang, did you forget? Those Old n strolling on the street and the shop-owning bosses are basically all the grandparents and parents of our workers... As long as we make a few inquiries through the workers in the factory, we can know what happened on the street."

"No wonder..."

Currently, the young people of the Wuji Domain were all drafted by the Silver Governnt to work forcibly in factories. Basically, only elderly Old n and middle-aged people with limited mobility were left in the city. With their children sent to the factories to work day and night, they were completely helpless... Their dissatisfaction towards the Silver Governnt definitely exceeded everyone's imagination.

It was precisely because of this that as long as a few young people with superior conditions and telephones at ho in the factory contacted their families a bit, they could obtain first-hand intelligence.

The middle-aged and elderly on the streets were an intelligence network, and the factories where young people gathered were also an intelligence network. Combining the two, various ssages were transmitted extrely fast.

"Is this the power of the people..." Fang Liangye couldn't help but sigh emotionally.

No matter what era, the power of the people was terrifying. Unless the Silver King used violence to bathe this domain in blood, the people living in it would always use various thods to find a way to survive... The Human Rights Union was a tenacious vine growing towards the sun in the darkness.

"Mister Fang, what should we do next?" Cao Jun asked excitedly with stars in his eyes.

Fang Liangye pondered for a mont,

"Secretly purchase all the Playing Cards in the city, then send them to each factory in batches... We have our people in every factory. Tell them how to use the cards to create diversions and thoroughly confuse the Fire-Stealers' sight and hearing."

"Understood!"

Cao Jun led the few people to turn and leave. They each clutched the unwrapped Playing Cards in their hands. Although their nervous hands were full of sweat, their eyes were full of hope...

They had been oppressed for too long. The extermination of one district after another, the violent law enforcent of the Silver Governnt, the inexplicable sickness and death of their companions had pushed them to the verge of collapse... But now, they could actually intimidate the Silver Governnt with just a few Playing Cards!

They knew what the Silver Governnt feared. Right now, what was in their hands were no longer cards for passing ti and entertainnt, but weapons for mortals to fight against power.

The teenagers left the factory, scattered, and sprinted along the roads deep into the smog, arriving among the various factories.

There were about more than a dozen factories in this Factory District, and there were a total of four such Factory Districts in the Wuji Domain... They navigated through the factory buildings with ease, as if they had been here many tis. Although the work clothes of different factories were sowhat different, upon seeing them appear, the original workers in the factory pretended not to see them and shifted their gazes elsewhere...

The teenagers arrived before hidden, narrow doors and knocked cautiously:

Tap tap tap——

"Who is it?"

"It's , Cao Jun." The teenager waved the Playing Cards,

"I brought a ray of hope!"

...

"Jinx!! Why is it you again!"

At the restaurant entrance, the boss saw Jian Changsheng outside through the glass window, his face turning livid with anger.

Jian Changsheng smiled sheepishly:

"Well... Boss, I want to ask for a favor..."

"We don't accept dine-and-dashers here!"

"No, what are you thinking... I ca here full this ti." Jian Changsheng gestured with his hands outside the door. "Did you see two other friends of mine? One wearing small sunglasses and acting cocky, the other wrapped in white bandages and acting silly..."

"..."

The boss was a bit impatient. "Go away, go away, every single one of you is annoying to death..."

The boss was just about to close the door when Jian Changsheng abruptly pressed one hand on the door handle, holding it firmly. Seeing this, the boss's eyes widened in anger. He used all his strength but couldn't budge the door a single bit, and panicked for a mont...

"You... what are you doing??"

Propping the door with one hand, Jian Changsheng walked into the restaurant unhurriedly... He narrowed his eyes and sneered, like a leather-jacket-wearing, mullet-sporting gangster from a Hong Kong movie, about to ask the boss for protection money in the next second.

However, in the next second, he instead pulled out a few bills from his pocket and stuffed them into the boss's hand.

"This is..." The boss froze.

"Boss, I'm not dining and dashing. I ca to pay back the money this ti." Jian Changsheng shrugged his shoulders. "Those two friends are very important to ... Tell , have they been here? And where did they go?"

Looking at the thick stack of bills in his hand, the boss's expression instantly softened a lot. He looked Jian Changsheng up and down carefully a few tis before speaking:

"That silly white-haired guy ca yesterday. After finding out you weren't here, he walked in that direction. Where he went, I also don't know... That cocky sunglasses guy ca this morning. He seed to have a bad complexion. After finding out you weren't here, he asked to pass a ssage to you, saying he's living under the Bridge Underpass next door..."

Jian Changsheng: ...

The title of silly white-haired guy truly fit Jiang Xiaohua perfectly. When Sun Bumian ca and found he wasn't there, he at least knew to leave an address. This guy Jiang Xiaohua actually just left blankly... Where the hell was he supposed to find him??

Jian Changsheng sighed helplessly, turned, and left. "I know, thanks boss."

"Wait."

Hesitating for a mont, the boss still called out to Jian Changsheng.

Jian Changsheng turned back in confusion. Under his stunned gaze, the boss counted out three bills from the stack in his hand and handed them over to him.

"This is..." Jian Changsheng was sowhat bewildered.

"Your wages." The boss spoke faintly. "No matter what, you also washed dishes here for a day. Now that you've paid the money back, naturally I won't let you work for nothing... Take it, find a proper job, and don't dine and dash next ti."

After speaking, the boss walked into the back kitchen without looking back, pretending to start cooking busily...

But actually, besides Jian Changsheng, there wasn't a single custor in the shop.

Jian Changsheng returned to his senses, a smile hooking the corner of his mouth. He shouted a loud "Thanks" to the boss in the back kitchen, then strode out the door and disappeared at the end of the street.
