His Title Deeds
"King..."
After everyone in the venue had left, Chi Tong spoke up hesitantly.
"He noticed ." The Silver King said in a deep voice. "Or rather, the thing inside him noticed ... Just now, sothing similar to a Calamity Domain must have affected reality."
"So, he really can unleash the power of that World-Ending at any ti?"
"I don't know... But what is certain is that his connection with that World-Ending is extrely close. That World-Ending would even proactively take action to protect him."
"Then isn't it too dangerous to keep him in the Wuji Domain? He's a bomb that could detonate at any mont!"
Chi Tong's face was sowhat pale.
The Silver King gazed in the direction Chen Ling had left. After pondering for a long ti, he spoke again:
"The power of 'World-Ending' isn't that easily controlled. I am very clear on this. Since we can't use forceful ans to completely control him, we'll change our approach..."
...
Rumble—
A flash of lightning tore across the sky above the Tianshu Domain.
Under the gloomy sky, the drifting rain slanted across the streets. Cool raindrops trickled down the dilapidated eaves, dripping onto the dust-covered ground.
Sun Bumian lay on top of a haystack inside the house, his arms crossed over his chest and eyes closed, as if he had already fallen asleep... Not far from him was the still unconscious Jiang Xiaohua.
The house was very quiet, so quiet that only the sound of rain remained.
The only one awake, Jian Changsheng, sat on the stone steps under the eaves, resting his head on one hand, staring blankly at the courtyard gate.
Jiang Xiaohua was unconscious, Sun Bumian was resting, but Jian Changsheng couldn't sleep no matter what... Whenever he tried to close his eyes, an inexplicable sense of unease and worry always welled up in his heart, causing his heartbeat to suddenly accelerate, as if reminding him of sothing.
Jian Changsheng didn't know where these emotions ca from, and accompanying them was an unprecedented bewildernt.
He clearly rembered his youth, all the suffering he experienced in the Yan family, but the mories after that were fragnted... How did he step onto the Divine Pathway? Why did he join the Dusk Society? How did he travel all the way from the Aurora Domain, wandering destitute, to get here...
These mories seed to be missing a crucial prir. Like scattered pearls on a plate, they just couldn't be strung together no matter how hard he tried.
Dense raindrops crashed into the puddles, stirring up countless ripples, shattering Jian Changsheng's shadow on the steps...
Creak.
Just as Jian Changsheng was suffering in bewildernt, the courtyard gate was pushed open.
Jian Changsheng imdiately stood up from the steps. Sun Bumian, who had been dozing on the haystack, also quickly got up and looked towards the gate... A soaking wet Bai Ye walked in from outside, his expression sowhat complicated.
"Senior Bai Ye, how did it go? Was the ssage sent out?" Jian Changsheng was the first to ask.
Bai Ye shook his head. "No. The Tianshu Domain is too heavily guarded right now. I asked all the contact points, and there are no channels to send ssages out within the next few days..."
"Then when will it be possible?"
"Depends on how long the Tianshu Domain's state of alert lasts. As little as ten days, as much as a month."
"That's too long... Moreover, even if the ssage gets out of the Tianshu Domain, it will take a long ti to reach the higher-ups." Sun Bumian frowned.
"Exactly."
"Is there no other, faster way??" Jian Changsheng was sowhat anxious. "The person has already been abducted by the Silver King to the Wuji Domain. Waiting that long, who knows if they'll be dead or alive by then?"
"..." Bai Ye was silent for a long ti. "There is one other way."
"What?"
"I'll personally make a trip to the Ancient Vault of the Drama Path."
Jian Changsheng and Sun Bumian were simultaneously stunned.
Bai Ye's expression was very serious. "The Tianshu Domain's guard has cut off the ssage channels of those liaisons, but they can't stop ... I can freely leave the Tianshu Domain, then cross the Gray World to seek an audience with the higher-ups at the Ancient Vault of the Drama Path."
Bai Ye was, after all, a Rank 7 Thief Saint, and the one most adept at stealing mories. No matter how heavily guarded the Tianshu Domain was, it was impossible to stop him. Moreover, with his strength, he was indeed capable enough to travel alone in the Gray World.
"It's not close from here to the Ancient Vault of the Drama Path." Sun Bumian pondered. "How long will it take to get there from here?"
"...Leaving the Tianshu Domain isn't hard. It all depends on whether any accidents happen while crossing the Gray World." Bai Ye estimated for a mont. "If everything goes smoothly, I can reach the Ancient Vault of the Drama Path within ten days."
Jian Changsheng and Sun Bumian exchanged a glance. "Ten days... This should be the fastest way."
"However, I'm just afraid there will be danger on the road."
"It shouldn't be a big problem."
Bai Ye seed to have already made up his mind, forcefully pulling down the brim of his cap. "I have a premonition that the 'Chen Ling' we forgot is involved in a great many things... Furthermore, if it weren't for him, we wouldn't have been able to escape from the Silver King. I must take this risk."
"What about us?"
"You two stay here and wait for the results."
Before Jian Changsheng could say anything more, Bai Ye's figure flickered, and he vanished on the spot.
The courtyard fell into silence once again.
Strings of raindrops slid down from the eaves. Jian Changsheng and Sun Bumian stood blankly in place for a long ti. The latter shrugged helplessly:
"It seems we're going to be living in this broken courtyard for a very long ti..."
Jian Changsheng didn't reply. He just looked at the desolate and wet courtyard before him, as if absent-minded, not moving an inch.
"Hey, Spades." Sun Bumian patted his shoulder.
Jian Changsheng snapped back to reality. "Hmm?"
"Do you have any money on you?"
"What do you want to do?"
"Buy groceries. We have to live here for a long ti, we have to eat, right?" Sun Bumian pulled out two pockets that were cleaner than his face. "I don't have a single cent anyway, what about you?"
"I don't know either... I'll check."
Jian Changsheng reached into his clothes and started feeling around. After a long while, he didn't pull out any money, but instead pulled out several crumpled pieces of paper.
"This isn't money either." Sun Bumian took them and glanced at them, then his eyes widened in astonishnt,
"Wait... Are these all Title Deeds?"
"Title Deeds?" Jian Changsheng was stunned. "How could I possibly have Title Deeds? Where would I get the money?"
"They really are Title Deeds, and they're all for pri locations in the Red Dust Main City... A Casino covering several thousand square ters, and a few jewelry shops facing the street... Spades, are you a tycoon?!" Sun Bumian looked at Jian Changsheng in shock.
"Although the Red Dust Main City is waiting to be rebuilt, as long as we have these Title Deeds, we can still rebuild the Casino... If we mortgage these, getting a few million wouldn't be a problem!"
Jian Changsheng was dumbfounded. He used to be a servant of the Yan family, even his life belonged to them. How could he possibly have so many properties?
Red Dust Domain...
Jian Changsheng tried hard to recall the origin of these assets, but couldn't rember anything. It was as if soone had forcefully dug out a very important piece of his mory.
"...Was it him?" Jian Changsheng muttered to himself.
