The Experint, and the Red King

This sudden voice startled Little Peach. Having finally managed to vaguely make out Little White's outline in the darkness, she couldn't help but punch him:

"What are you doing! You scared to death!"

Little White grimaced in pain in the darkness, but still asked anxiously:

"Little Peach, how did your information gathering go? Are the Calamities really going to attack? Is there any news about Great King Chen Ling?"

The mont he learned of the Calamity attack on the South Sea Domain, Little White was frightened out of his wits and constantly urged Little Peach to go back. However, Little Peach still wanted to gather more intelligence. In the end, they decided to split up: Little White would return to pass on the news in a tily manner, while Little Peach would continue scouting outside.

"I've gathered just about enough." Little Peach nodded. "The South Sea Domain's defense seems to be done very well. It's very difficult for those Calamities of the Forbidden Sea to fight their way in. However, as for news regarding Lord Chen Ling... there's still none."

"It must be a complete chaotic ss outside, right? Could Great King Chen Ling be in danger?" Little White's eyes were full of worry.

"If he went back to the Ghost Mockery Abyss, he should be fine, right..."

Little Peach herself wasn't sure either.

Right now, all the Calamity territories had co out in full force, yet there was still no news of Chen Ling. This was sowhat worriso.

When the two of them returned to the factory, the children of the Integration Faction were still chattering and arguing. But in the end, they didn't go find the people at the checkpoints, instead planning to wait until Teacher Ye returned before making a decision.

"Teacher Ye is back!"

It was unknown who shouted, but the children imdiately sward over with a whoosh.

"Teacher Ye! We've discussed it, we also want to go to the frontlines!"

"We can't keep letting the people of the South Sea Domain look down on us. Our Integration Faction is also very powerful!"

"Yeah, Teacher Ye, just let us go..."

"Those Calamities of the Forbidden Sea killed Niannian, we must take revenge for them!"

"..."

One eager voice after another rang out from the crowd. Teacher Ye lowered his head, his gaze sweeping across the children, his expression sowhat complex.

"Nonsense!" Teacher Ye reprimanded in a low voice. "You're just children, what battlefield are you going to? Go back and take your afternoon nap! Old Wolf, Zhao Yi... you few, co with ."

Teacher Ye's reprimand extinguished the children's enthusiasm and desire for battle. Although they felt sowhat indignant and wronged, they still listened to Teacher Ye's words. Whispering helplessly among themselves, they walked toward their respective dormitory rooms.

The workers' dormitories in the factory were all eight-person rooms. The space was narrow, dirty, and ssy, completely incomparable to the two-person rooms in the Mother Tree. But the children didn't have any complaints either, climbing up the creaking tal ladders to the top bunks and lying down quietly.

Once the children had successively returned to their rooms, only Teacher Ye, Zhao Yi, Old Wolf, and a few others were left at the factory entrance.

"The South Sea Domain won't let us participate in the battle?" Old Wolf had roughly guessed the situation.

"Mhm..."

Teacher Ye briefly recounted the matters of the eting. After the group finished listening, they all fell into silence.

"What are these people thinking? Leaving so many of our high-tier combat powers unused, isn't this pure waste?" Zhao Yi couldn't help but complain.

There were still quite a few experts in the Integration Faction who had reached the stage of "Slaughtering the Calamity." Furthermore, Old Wolf and the others were combat powers at the peak of the Seventh-Tier, making them even more proficient at dealing with Calamities... If it were any other domain, they would have long since treated them as treasures and enshrined them. But the South Sea Domain had consistently refused to utilize them, which was truly incomprehensible.

"I can understand their concerns. After all, what Fusionists fuse with are also Calamities." Teacher Ye paused for a mont. "But the results of the gene simulation and dostication experint are about to co out soon... At that ti, I will prove it to them."

"Being locked up here all the ti is indeed quite boring." Zhao Yi stretched his back. "I actually really want to go out and fight..."

"There will be an opportunity."

After Teacher Ye chatted simply for a few sentences, he walked straight toward the factory's underground warehouse.

Right at this mont, as if he had thought of sothing, he suddenly said to Zhao Yi:

"Zhao Yi, since you're idle and bored, co help ."

"Ah?" Zhao Yi was startled, not knowing why Teacher Ye suddenly made this request. But without much hesitation, he nodded. "No problem."

Zhao Yi followed Teacher Ye through the dust-filled staircase, and a laboratory filled with equipnt entered his field of vision. At this ti, on the central test bench, several unconscious little Calamities were soaking. Bubbles rose from within the mysterious liquid, and through plastic tubes, streams of fresh blood were being continuously drawn out from them.

This was still Zhao Yi's first ti coming to Teacher Ye's new laboratory, and his eyes were full of curiosity.

Teacher Ye put on a protective lab suit, picked up one of the test tubes, carefully observed the sedintation effect, and then reset the tir beside it to zero.

"Teacher Ye, what do you need to do?" Zhao Yi scratched his head. "I don't understand chemistry or experints at all."

"Just help clean so used test tubes and containers."

While slowly pouring the test tube in his hand into the solvent on the other side, Teacher Ye spoke without turning his head.

"I can do this!" Zhao Yi's eyes lit up, and holding a few pieces of experintal equipnt, he began to wash them.

Two figures were busy beneath the factory.

In the dormitories on the surface, the children lay in their beds, falling into a deep sleep.

...

Ancient Vault of the Drama Path.

Ning Ruyu stood before the ancestral shrine, looking at the figure in the theatrical robe standing before the dim spirit tablets, hesitating to speak...

The dim, yellow setting sun gradually sank into the earth of the Ancient Vault of the Drama Path. The remnants of the setting sun jumped over the old hall doors, illuminating the view of that youth's back. The hem of the theatrical robe fluttered lightly in the breeze, and the youth's sigh floated over slowly:

"So, he still doesn't plan on coming back to see ..."

"Master, if you want to see Little Junior Brother, you just have to say so directly." Ning Ruyu spoke carefully. "I can feel that Little Junior Brother actually wants to see you too... It's just that he's waiting for you to speak first."

"That makes sense... After all, I'm the one who wronged him." The Red King nodded slightly.

Ning Ruyu's eyes lit up:

"Then you..."

"Now that things have co to this, whether we et or not is no longer important." The Red King flicked his sleeve. "He is very smart, and I can guess what he would want to ask... Since that's the case, it's better not to et at all."

Ning Ruyu's voice abruptly ceased.

He looked at the view of the theatrical-robed youth's back and shook his head, bitter and helpless.

The Red King's thoughts were not sothing that disciples like them could easily change. Although Ning Ruyu very much wanted Little Junior Brother to return to the Ancient Vault of the Drama Path, looking at it now, the Red King's focus wasn't on this matter at all.

"Ruyu, what ti is it now?" The Red King suddenly asked.

Ning Ruyu was startled, seemingly unable to understand why the Red King would suddenly ask this. After conjuring a clock out of thin air, he replied:

"Six twenty."

"Oh."

The Red King waved his hand. "Go busy yourself."

"Yes." Ning Ruyu bowed in salute, and with a flash of his figure, he vanished without a trace.

After Ning Ruyu left, the ancestral shrine was once again restored to a deathly silence.

The theatrical-robed youth turned his head slightly, looking toward a patch of shadow within the ancestral shrine:

"Have the subsequent matters all been arranged?"
