Backing Up

Chen Ling's current persona was that of a cousin colluding with Pu Shu, acting as his dark and evil protective umbrella.

Cousin had been called, the al had been eaten, and Pu Shu had paid so much just to have him back him up. Now that things had co to this, Chen Ling naturally couldn't shirk the responsibility.

Pattering cold rainwater drifted down from under the dark clouds.

At this ti, Han ng was still pondering exactly where his reasoning had gone wrong. With furrowed brows, he was walking absentmindedly along the Pu Family's Courtyard. The rainwater fell on his black Enforcer trench coat but didn't leave the slightest water stain.

Just as he was completely imrsed in it, a cold and sinister voice ca from directly in front of him:

"Yo, isn't this our famous Enforcer?"

Han ng's train of thought was interrupted, and he looked forward coldly.

He saw a sowhat familiar figure standing in the middle of the path leading back to the wing room, sneering. The mont he saw that face, Han ng relied on his superhuman mory to recall where he had seen him before...

"So it's a Lackey of the Yan Family," Han ng said indifferently. "For the sake of the Pu Family, I have no interest in wasting ti with you... Move aside."

The first glance Han ng had of Pu Shu, he knew this was the "collateral branch" the Head of the Pu Family had told him to be wary of when he first arrived at the Pu Family. However, Han ng currently had no interest in tangling with this guy; his thoughts were all tied up elsewhere at the mont.

Hearing the words "Lackey of the Yan Family", Pu Shu's face sank, and a surge of anger rushed to his heart:

"Han ng, where do you think this is? You actually dare to scold a mber of the Pu Family as a Lackey within the Pu Family?"

"Did I scold wrongly?"

"You..."

Standing behind Pu Shu and looking at this cliché and boring provocation scene before him, Chen Ling silently rolled his eyes in his heart.

At this ti, Han ng also noticed the youth wearing a gray vest and rimless glasses behind Pu Shu, but his gaze didn't linger. After a light glance, he looked elsewhere.

"Han ng, do you think just because you have the Family Head backing you up, you can walk sideways in the Pu Family?" Pu Shu sneered.

He stepped sideways, specifically making room for Chen Ling to make an appearance.

Then,

Pu Shu looked expectantly at Chen Ling.

Chen Ling: ...

[Audience Expectation Value 3]

[Current Expectation Value 54%]

At this ti, Han ng also seed to realize that this youth was the source of Pu Shu's confidence, and couldn't help but look at Chen Ling again... However, his eyelids remained lowered, not raising the slightest bit of interest.

Chen Ling stayed silent for a mont before finally speaking:

"I am Pu Jianyue."

"Oh."

"I have plenty of connections and thods."

"So?"

"I will make you pay the price."

"I'm looking forward to it."

Both of them simultaneously fell into silence.

Han ng felt that this youth in front of him was sowhat strange, but he couldn't put his finger on what was strange... He carefully sized Chen Ling up, waiting for the other party's next threat or harsh words, but Chen Ling seed to have no intention of speaking further.

Pu Shu at the side spoke up at just the right ti:

"My brother's father is the Sixth Uncle of the Pu Family. In this family, my brother's influence is far greater than you imagine... Han ng, just you wait and see."

Standing beside Chen Ling, Pu Shu's gaze toward Han ng was incredibly sharp. After he finished speaking, the inner demons in his entire person seed to have lessened quite a bit, and he walked off into the distance without looking back.

Pu Shu knew very well that even if he wanted to do sothing to Han ng, he absolutely couldn't make a move under the watchful eyes of everyone... Anyway, Han ng would continue to stay in the Pu Family, and in the future, they would have plenty of opportunities.

Facing Han ng directly this ti wasn't just to gain a quick advantage in words, but more importantly, to directly face the shadow left behind in the Aurora Domain back then. He had to let Han ng know of his existence and know that it was him who brought him enormous trouble. Only then would it be true "revenge".

But what he didn't expect was that his cousin's state today didn't seem too good...

Was he deterred by Han ng's Pathway Chief Aura?

True, Han ng was a Seventh-Tier, while his cousin was only Fifth-Tier. It was normal to feel pressure when facing him directly... What Pu Shu wanted to utilize was never his cousin's Combat Power, but his background and influence in the Pu Family.

Chen Ling very perfunctorily completed the goal of "backing him up", turned around, and left together with Pu Shu.

Just at this mont,

Seeing Chen Ling's departing back, Han ng's heart slightly skipped a beat...

This back figure seems sowhat familiar?

"Wait," Han ng suddenly spoke.

Pu Shu and Chen Ling stopped in their tracks simultaneously.

"What? Now you know to be afraid?" Pu Shu snorted.

Han ng didn't even spare Pu Shu a glance; his gaze remained fixed on Chen Ling...

"Your na is Pu Jianyue?"

Chen Ling's heart stirred.

Chen Ling understood Han ng too well. For the other party to suddenly ask like this, he must have discovered so clues... But Chen Ling thought about it from left and right and didn't feel he had revealed any flaws.

After a brief pause, Chen Ling played his current role even harder and sneered:

"With such little mory, how did you beco an Enforcer?"

"Have we t sowhere before?"

Han ng spoke straightforwardly.

"Never in the past," Chen Ling paused for a mont. "But in the future, you might frequently see in your nightmares... Hehe."

After speaking, Chen Ling didn't hesitate in the slightest and left directly.

Pu Shu at the side had his eyes light up!

That's right!

This is the true strength his cousin should have!

Han ng looked at the departing backs of the two, his brows furrowing tighter and tighter...

"Is it him... No... is it not him?"

...

"Cousin, thank you so much." After walking far away, Pu Shu spoke from the bottom of his heart.

"We are family, what is there to thank."

"Hahaha, I was treating you as an outsider... By the way, Cousin, how do you plan to deal with him?"

Chen Ling: ...

Chen Ling turned his head quietly and glanced in the direction of Han ng's residence,

"I have my own arrangents."

Once this sentence ca out, Pu Shu tactfully didn't pursue the question further. After all, they were his cousin's own connections and resources... However, Pu Shu was very expectant. He had seen his cousin's thods since childhood, and almost no one who went against his cousin had a good end...

Since his cousin had spoken such harsh words this ti, it ant Han ng's final outco would definitely be very miserable.

"By the way, where is my father?"

The main reason Chen Ling arranged for Pu Jianyue to cause a huge ruckus at the Canal Gang this ti was to solve the current ownership issue of the toy factory. After the Six of Hearts caused a huge ruckus at the Canal Gang, those people probably wouldn't have the energy to care about the toy factory either, and this asset would be considered completely falling into his own pocket... Next, he should go to the scene to take a look.

"?"

Chen Ling ca to an abrupt halt.

He almost forgot, when the Family Head went to track down the Six of Hearts just now, he had called away a large batch of the family's elders... Pu the Sixth was Pu Jianyue's father, and right now, Pu Jianyue was playing the role of the "Six of Hearts"...

Could there be any accidents in this pursuit??
