"Queen of Clubs"

After finishing giving instructions to Little Peach and Little White, Chen Ling took advantage of the night to return to the Pu Family.

On Pu Jianyue's side, he had pretty much finished his arrangents, and the next step was just waiting for him to deliver himself to the door... Chen Ling wasn't worried about Pu Jianyue breaking free from his control; quite the opposite, he was worried that Pu Jianyue was too stupid and would leave loopholes in his plan.

Fang Liangye of the Wuji Domain was very smart. Firstly, because he was inherently smart, and secondly, because the Silver King had transferred the majority of Chen Ling's mories to him at that ti. Anyone who experienced everything Chen Ling had experienced would undergo a Complete Transformation in their growth.

But the mory fragnts Chen Ling exchanged with Pu Jianyue this ti were actively chosen by him. These mories only retained so necessary identity information. The mories that truly created "Chen Ling" were still in Chen Ling's mind. This resulted in the current Pu Jianyue just being an empty shell stuffed with mory fragnts by Chen Ling, his brain as empty as a split-open coconut...

Coupled with the fact that Pu Jianyue was already a pampered young master with a not-so-bright brain. Otherwise, his training in other Domains wouldn't have required so many people to wipe his ass for him.

Chen Ling passed through one Courtyard after another. Under the night sky, the Pu Family was incomparably quiet.

The Pu Family had strict rules, and most of its mbers were already asleep by this ti. Looking around, in the deep darkness, only the window of one wing room was still emitting the faint light of a candle...

That was Han ng's residence.

Chen Ling gazed in that direction and stopped in his tracks among the stone pavilions.

His brows furrowed slightly, as if hesitating whether to directly go knock on Han ng's door, but after pondering for a mont, he still gave up on this idea.

This was the Pu Family's territory after all, and Han ng was an imprisoned prisoner. Although on the surface there might not be anyone watching, just in case experts like the Ancestor of the Pu Family or the Family Head were secretly paying attention to this place, eting with Han ng late at night would be equivalent to exposing his own identity and might even implicate Han ng.

Furthermore, Han ng had fallen into his current situation entirely because of him.

Han ng was different from him. He was a human, an Enforcer, destined to live in the Human Domains. The deeper he got involved with him, the worse his situation would beco, eventually completely losing the trust of the Human Domains and being marginalized to the edge...

No contact, no communication, was good for both of them.

Chen Ling took one last deep look at the wing room with flickering candlelight, turned around, and walked into the darkness.

Almost at the sa ti he turned around,

Inside the dim room, Han ng gently pulled back a corner of the curtain...

Wearing a black Enforcer trench coat, he stood just like that in the shadow of the candlelight, his gaze staring fixedly at the figure gradually vanishing into the darkness, a trace of suspicion flashing through his eyes.

Han ng was now a Seventh-Tier [Judgnt] Pathway Chief, and he was extrely sensitive to gazes, especially gazes containing "fear" or "hesitation." When Chen Ling stared at this place, Han ng noticed it.

He vigilantly looked through the window towards the direction Chen Ling left in, but ultimately only saw a blurry figure from behind...

Han ng's eyes narrowed slightly.

...

Late at night.

A mysterious figure wearing a hood slowly stopped at the entrance of the guest house.

"The address in my mory is right here..." Pu Jianyue looked around, and after confirming no one was paying attention, quickly walked inside.

Pu Jianyue's only clue right now was this guest house, or more accurately, a certain room inside... He had an image of the house number in his mory, so finding it wasn't difficult for him. But the problem was, he didn't know if it was a companion or an enemy waiting for him here.

Pu Jianyue was very nervous, to the point his palms even started sweating. He didn't know why his state was so poor today; in the past, when facing the Silver King, he had never been this nervous. As he shuttled through the narrow corridor, looking at the house numbers continuously passing by, his heart almost jumped out of his throat.

Underneath his sleeves, streaks of pitch-black Ink and Brush were already poised to strike.

Finally,

He stopped at the door of Room 309.

He didn't knock, but instead used his fingertip to lightly write the character for "Open" on the doorknob. The lock automatically popped open, opening a crack inward...

It seed the lights weren't on in the room. It was very dark. Through the gap in the doorway, Pu Jianyue could see ghost-like white gauze curtains fluttering in front of the open window. Just as he prepared himself ntally to go in, a calm voice ca from within the room.

"What? Did you switch professions to be a thief recently?"

The mont this voice rang out, Pu Jianyue's entire body trembled. He subconsciously wanted to throw out the Ink and Brush in his hands, but imdiately cald down.

Incorrect... If it were an enemy, they would have made a move the mont they discovered him prying the door open. Judging by the other party's tone, they should be an old acquaintance and had no malicious intent.

Pu Jianyue's heart quickly relaxed a bit. He felt he was still quite smart. Since he had been exposed, it was better to just go in generously.

Pu Jianyue walked into the room and closed the door, only then seeing clearly the image of the speaker.

It was a young girl wearing a small yellow hat. At this mont, she was sitting on a chair with her legs crossed, a burning cigarette held between her fingertips. The hazy moonlight outside the window dragged her shadow onto the ground, but it wasn't sitting; instead, it was like a straight-standing devil, staring straight at Pu Jianyue from another dinsion.

Under the moonlight, a young girl, a ghost shadow, a cigarette...

Pu Jianyue's heart trembled.

Just who exactly was this bizarre young girl?

As the cigarette butt turned into flying ash amidst the orange fla, Little Peach gently exhaled a puff of smoke. Amidst the drifting white smoke, her gaze seed to beco profound.

"Human civilization..." Pu Jianyue spoke tentatively.

"Shall never extinguish."

Little Peach casually flicked the cigarette ash. "Six of Hearts, you went out for a trip and don't even recognize anymore?"

Pu Jianyue completely set his mind at ease at this mont. He knew the young girl in front of him was a companion from the Dusk Society, and imdiately answered truthfully:

"My mory was stolen away by the Silver King, and now I can't rember anything..."

"Silver King?" Little Peach's brows furrowed slightly. "You actually managed to escape alive after facing him?"

"Although I can't clearly rember the process, it should be so."

"As expected of Six of Hearts... as expected of you."

Hearing Little Peach's praise, the corners of Pu Jianyue's mouth curled up slightly. He seed to really enjoy this feeling of being acknowledged.

"I am the Queen of Clubs of the Dusk Society, and also the person in charge of this South Sea Domain operation." Little Peach gently raised her hand, and a Playing Card flew out from the pitch-black shadow, landing in Pu Jianyue's hand.

Pu Jianyue was sowhat shocked in his heart. He didn't know what level of strength this young girl had to be able to manipulate shadows like this. It was almost as if the shadow had a consciousness of its own...

"This mission is indeed more difficult than we imagined. To think even the Silver King has co..."

Seeing the young girl in such heavy contemplation, Pu Jianyue couldn't help but ask:

"Senior Queen of Clubs, what exactly is our mission this ti?"
