Lu Xun's Unique "Astronomy"

Just as Su Zhiwei was at a loss, a voice ca from behind her.

"Did I make it in ti..."

The voice was very familiar, but it didn't sound like it was produced by human vocal cords. Instead, it sounded like a voice generated by the vibration of so kind of leaves. And perhaps it was Su Zhiwei's misconception, but this voice seed incredibly exhausted.

She looked back, only to see a tall, green figure that resembled both a human and a tree standing there. His feet had already turned into roots plunging into the earth, and slender weeping willow branches draped over his shoulders like long hair. Amidst that fluttering long hair, wood grain had already grown on a familiar face.

"Chu Changqing???" Su Zhiwei was equally shocked upon seeing that person. "How did you beco like this?!"

"This is a part of evolution."

Chu Changqing's erald-like pupils watched the Calamity roots continuously breaking through the walls, his tone carrying so regret. "The sample right now is singular, so I can only beco like this... If only there were more similar samples."

As Chu Changqing's voice fell, more and more green roots surged from the earth beneath his feet, tangling with the Calamity roots that were successively charging in...

Chu Changqing's intervention completely solved the problem of there being too many Calamities. His roots were equally massive in number, able to relieve a considerable portion of the pressure for Su Zhiwei, and they could even cling to the shelter's walls to stabilize the structure of the entire building.

Although Su Zhiwei still had many doubts, now was not the ti to ask. Turning her head, she went all out and charged back into the battlefield.

Pao Ge's gaze swept successively across Lu Xun, who was entangled in starlight, Su Zhiwei, who was fighting Calamities barehanded, and Chu Changqing, who had transford into a giant tree. He vigorously rubbed his eyes, as if suspecting he was dreaming.

"This world is truly mad..."

"That man is the Lord of Tianshu, what about the other two?"

"They ca together, and they both have superpowers. They should also be so kind of 'Lord'? Are there many 'Lords'?"

"..."

Although the entire shelter was suffering attacks from Calamities, the intervention of Lu Xun's trio prevented the terrified masses from completely losing their reason. They stared blankly at those miraculous figures, as if they were already their last pillar of ntal support.

The starlight around Lu Xun flickered constantly. He tightly gritted his teeth, his consciousness beginning to blur...

"I can't... I can't hold on much longer."

Everything before Lu Xun's eyes began to dim, leaving only faintly discernible starlight filling his vision. His thoughts began to stagnate, beginning to scatter bit by bit along with the collapsing starlight, disappearing into the darkness.

In the sky above the shelter,

That flickering star had also dimd to the point of near-extinction.

As the last shred of Lu Xun's Spiritual Power was wrung dry, he dazedly saw the starlight leave him, and darkness madly devoured his consciousness. It was as if he had lost all support, plunging into the abyss.

Right at this mont,

A voice rang out in his mind.

"Lu Xun."

The mont this voice sounded, amidst the darkness, starlight beca dazzling!

Stars lit up one after another behind Lu Xun, and the darkness around him receded like a tide. He subconsciously turned his head, only to see a sky full of stars shining under the night sky, their dazzling radiance illuminating the firmant!

Even putting in all his effort, Lu Xun could only maintain a single star... But now, behind him, a thousand stars were shining.

And amidst that dazzling starlight, a figure slowly reached out a hand toward him. Because the starlight behind him was too strong, Lu Xun couldn't even look directly at his face, but the voice that imdiately followed allowed him to recognize the other party.

"Lu Xun, you've done very well..."

"Don't worry..."

"We are on our way."

Lu Xun stared blankly at the figure standing under the starlight, softly calling out the other party's na:

"...Director Chen? How could you..."

Lu Xun didn't understand why Chen Ling could actually mobilize starlight as well, nor did he know who exactly the "we" Chen Ling spoke of were... He could no longer think, and could only subconsciously reach out his hand to grasp Chen Ling's.

The star that had originally relied on Lu Xun's Spiritual Power to be maintained suddenly surged with light. It was as if it had changed controllers; the rich starlight began to feed back into Lu Xun's body, causing his consciousness to rapidly awaken from its sinking state!

When Lu Xun opened his eyes again, the starlight in the shelter was already several tis brighter than before!

As if realizing sothing, he suddenly looked toward the nothingness overhead.

...

Three minutes ago.

As Chen Ling took a deep breath, his finger slowly tapped on one of the Card Faces.

"Skill: [Starlight Sonata]"

"Affiliation: 'Astronomy', Chapter 8."

"Character: Lu Xun."

Seeing this Card Face, Chen Ling blanked out slightly.

Up until now, Chen Ling had drawn skills from more than one of the Nine Monarchs, but whether it was Yang Xiao's 'Principles of Communication Devices and Electromagnetic Induction' or Lou Yu's 'Material Reshaping and Material Ultimate Strength', they were all full of a cold, textbook-like flavor.

But the na of Lu Xun's skill possessed a unique poetic quality...

It was as if Chen Ling wasn't flipping through a book, but rather Lu Xun was looking into his eyes and slowly reciting a poem about the stars.

As the Card Face vanished from Chen Ling's mind, in an instant, everything around Chen Ling receded like a tide, leaving only the boundless depths of the cosmos and those nearly endless, flickering stars.

A piece of information appeared in Chen Ling's mind.

What is starlight?

Starlight is the electromagnetic radiation released during the process of hydrogen nuclei combining into helium nuclei through nuclear fusion reactions under extre high temperatures and high pressures in the core of a star. It is the visual aesthetic of light ultimately captured by the human eye after passing through the atmosphere and being affected by scattering or turbulence.

This was the scientific understanding of starlight in Lu Xun's mind.

But at the sa ti, it was also the light that left a dreamlike impression in a child's mind when they looked up at the starry sky for the first ti; it was the holiness that perated countless fairy tales; it was a symbol representing hope and the future; it was a beacon guiding people forward in the darkness...

Lu Xun had never been a rigid scientific researcher; he was a star-chaser who possessed both science and poetry.

To him, starlight was absolutely not as simple as a physical phenonon.

For so reason, standing under this starlight, Chen Ling could feel Lu Xun's feelings toward the starry sky and astronomy... As passionate as fire, yet as gentle as treating a beloved. To him, the starry sky seed to be a concretized "person."

"This is... Lu Xun's unique 'Astronomy'."

Chen Ling muttered to himself.

A flash of understanding crossed Chen Ling's eyes. He slowly clenched his hand, and the boundless starlight around him instantly gathered toward his palm like a tide, ultimately transforming into a tiny speck of starlight.

Chen Ling gently curled his five fingers, cherishing that wisp of starlight in his palm as if caring for a seed.
