In the Mirror Dinsion of New York City, after Kyle's arrival, Thanos stopped taking any further action. He was very aware that in front of Kyle, attempting to seize soone else's Infinity Stones was unrealistic.
Thus, Thanos calmly gazed at Kyle, observing this powerful man who couldn't even be considered human and was unbeatable within the Galaxy.
Kyle also silently observed him. Thanos, as he had imagined, was tall, strong, and ugly, with a dry, rectangular face, radiating an energy that made Kyle's body tremble.
The two of them had indirectly fought each other long ago— since the Battle of New York during the Second World War, starting from the mont they first encountered the Stones.
Loki, Lorna, and even the rest of them had beco pawns in their long-standing ga.
This century-long, covert battle had seen victories for both Kyle and Thanos, yet they had never truly t face-to-face— until now.
There couldn't be two top-tier powers fighting over the Stones in the sa Marvel universe.
"I'm starting to regret it. I regret trusting that fool Loki during the Battle of New York instead of leading my own forces," Thanos said, his eyes falling on the mist behind Kyle. That very mist, which could open the Mirror Dinsion, could only be manipulated by soone with the power of the Space Stone.
In other words, Kyle now held two Infinity Stones: the Space Stone and the Power Stone. Including the Ti Stone intercepted by Raina's soul, he had three.
There were six Infinity Stones in total across the universe, and now, Kyle and Thanos had each claid half.
The key difference was that Thanos's greatest reliance was the Infinite Gauntlet, which could perfectly harness the full power of the Infinity Stones.
Kyle's greatest reliance was the Space Stone, combined with the divine fire he had obtained through the card draws, rging into his own power— double star form!
For now, it was a tie.
But once today passed, the century-long war that spanned the Marvel universe would finally co to its end.
"Are you all planning to join in?" Thanos said, his expression neutral, looking at the Avengers behind Kyle, including Thor, Banner, and others.
Right now, Kyle had the advantage of being on his ho turf, with the entire Avengers team, Carl's nation, and the top forces of Wakanda backing him up.
"Of course..." Thor began to speak, but Kyle interrupted him. "Thor, you all stay out of this. Take the injured and evacuate them from the Mirror Dinsion."
"It should be fine to let them all go, right? I have all three Stones." Kyle squinted his eyes and looked at Thanos.
"It's fine," Thanos nodded without hesitation. He was a little cautious, realizing that the Scarlet Witch, Doctor Strange, Quicksilver, Thor, and the others were all powerful enough not to be easily ignored. If all these people joined in without fear of death, the outco of this battle would truly be hard to predict.
Yes, if it was just Kyle alone, even with three Stones, Thanos still didn't believe Kyle could defeat him!
"We can..." Banner wanted to say sothing, but after eting Kyle's calm gaze, he helplessly nodded.
At the mont, most of them were injured. Forcing them to stay and fight would only make them liabilities, restricting Kyle's ability to fully unleash his true power.
After exchanging a glance, Thor and Banner, along with Valkyrie, helped the severely wounded heroes— Iron Man, Spider-Man, War Machine, and others— while Doctor Strange returned to the ground and opened a portal to the outside world.
Neither Thanos nor Kyle moved. They stood about ten ters apart, silently observing each other.
"Boss," Raina's soul drifted to Kyle's side, handing him the intercepted Ti Stone.
Kyle took the Ti Stone in his hand. He looked at Raina's current state, knowing full well that this Stone was sothing the people of Earth had desperately fought to protect, and it carried a weight far beyond its own.
Raina's soul softly spoke, "Mother and the others are fine, they're just still trapped in Wakanda and can't make it here."
"That's good," Kyle nodded lightly, speaking to Raina's soul. "You should go now."
"No, I want to stay. I want to stay by the Boss's side."
Raina's soul shook her head fiercely, afraid that Kyle might use the Stone's power to expel her, so she simply surged into his body to stay.
Kyle whispered, "If you stay inside , if I fail, you will lose your life too."
"I know. That's exactly why I want to stay," Raina's voice echoed within him. "As long as you're here, I'll go with you, even to hell. If there's no you, I'd rather my soul cease to exist."
From the mont Kyle saved her in the dim underground laboratory during World War II, her body and soul had never belonged to her alone.
"Then stay," Kyle said, a slight smile tugging at his lips. "Stay with and fight."
Indeed, long ago, since the battle in Tokyo, their fates had been intertwined.
"Sister."
Not far away, Lorna watched the scene, her eyes blurred with tears. She felt a deep happiness for Raina, genuinely glad for her.
"You must win this final victory. I'll be waiting outside for you!" Lorna gave Kyle one last glance before stepping through the portal. She feared she might not be able to resist staying behind as well.
Iron Man's suit was shed from Tony's body, and he was supported on either side by Banner and Spiderman. He struggled to look back, his voice weak, "Godfather, you must win!"
"Of course, when have you ever seen lose?" Kyle responded with a confident smile.
If he won today, Tony's tragic fate as Iron Man might finally be averted.
"Then that's good." Tony trusted his godfather and followed Banner and Spiderman out of the Mirror Dinsion.
"Boss, go get him!" Eddie's words were brief as he helped Quicksilver leave.
Next, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Valkyrie, Thor… everyone else followed suit and left the Mirror Dinsion.
Scarlet Witch watched Kyle's back, and for so reason, she suddenly had a strong premonition that she might never see this man again.
This premonition made her heart ache painfully. She suddenly broke free from Valkyrie's support, regained so strength, and rushed to Kyle's back, wrapping her arms tightly around his waist.
"Wanda?" Kyle looked down in surprise.
"This is a hug for Raina, don't misunderstand," Wanda bit her lip tightly and called out, "Rember. There are so many people waiting for you. , Lucy, Princess Sakura… we're all outside, waiting for you to win and return to us!"
"Don't worry."
Kyle gently patted her hands, his eyes filled with unprecedented determination as he calmly responded, "I will win! I will return to you all!"
"I believe in you." Wanda left.
After she left, the portal closed, and the vast Mirror Dinsion was left with only Thanos and Kyle.
"Sorry to keep you waiting." Kyle raised his gaze.
"It was just a farewell. Before I ca here for this battle, I said goodbye to the most important people in my life. It was a final goodbye." The sadness faded from Thanos's face as he clenched his left fist. The three Infinity Stones embedded in the gauntlet blazed with brilliant light.
"Let's go! Let this war end here, once and for all!"
