Human Cradle Plan Foundation.
Lin Yan and Li Xianping stood at the unimpressive entrance of the office building, where a glowing display wall at the reception showcased the three dark golden plastic letters: H.C.P.
Compared to Spencer’s foundation, the current HCP had suffered multiple blows from Wei Tianyang and was now sowhat listless, with its funding chain broken, research projects forcibly shut down in large numbers, and even its headquarters located in the Kyoto Industrial District of Churi Country was just an unremarkable building among a forest of office towers.
This 22-story black office building originally belonged to the Sao Ni Group of Churi Country, a veteran giant in electronics and ho appliances that had recently resorted to selling buildings to pay salaries.
At this very mont, ti was paused throughout the entire building. The security personnel running towards Lin Yan, with his left hand on his gun holster and his right hand lightly touching his earpiece, and the girl at the reception wearing glasses, were both smiling falsely, with her hand already reaching for the button under the counter.
Lin Yan and Li Xianping were suspected of being Wei Tianyang’s kin. In fact, such suspicion in itself couldn’t be blad, as the secret research facility they belonged to had indeed been precisely targeted by Wei Tianyang in a short ti. Moreover, amusingly, Wei Tianyang hadn’t taken this foundation to heart, and he never returned after snatching away Fujiwara Makoto and her womb.
HCP was hit hard twice for no apparent reason, suffering heavy financial and personnel losses, and it was an unwarranted disaster.
At present, the foundation could no longer realize its original vision, and even its influence was below that of large pharmaceutical companies like United Pharmaceuticals. After being heavily damaged, it was even more difficult to attract new mbers, as no one was willing to join an organization that had caught Wei Tianyang’s attention, at least that’s what they believed.
Lin Yan and Li Xianping were well aware of various reasons. The top counsel was aging rapidly and no longer had the cohesiveness of old, and the entire managent had slipped into a swirl of corruption and greed. The managent was desperately looking for a scapegoat to absolve itself of the responsibility for the damages inflicted by Wei Tianyang, and the organization was declining into bureaucracy.
Even so, the foundation was not entirely useless. The vast amount of research data and docunts on the records of Heavenly Falling Objects that had been collected over ti were an endless treasure. The foundation had no money to start larger projects, but that was based on the premise of human societal rules.
Lin Yan now could manipulate ti, and even though Wei Tianyang had locked away both her past and future, at least for the mont, she could still pause ti, toying with these mortals dood to die.
This ability was enough for her to disregard mundane rules and trifles. By rely revealing so of her abilities, she could win over these scientific researchers. Her refuge, devoid of the concept of ti, could also accommodate all the research personnel from the foundation that were worth recruiting, and those associated with the social structures of the council and so of the managent could all go to hell.
Lin Yan and Li Xianping encountered no obstacles along the way. Having the experience of breaking into the Pei Guode Hotel, she knew how to make good use of this man-made concept.
The highest council was called the O5 Council, with five directors in charge of the foundation. However, due to a series of changes in global situations, their control over their respective fields had significantly weakened, effectively diminishing their position within the foundation.
As Lin Yan and Li Xianping burst in, a secret eting was taking place. The three n and two won, all over the age of 60, were showing signs of worry – such expressions were rare for them.
"Lin?"
Lin Yan lifted the pause on ti. The alarm had just started ringing throughout the building. When Lin Yan appeared in front of the foundation building, the order to capture them had been issued, and in an instant, she and Li Xianping were in the office, making it clear to the O5 Council directors that Lin Yan had beco a Superpower user.
"I don’t want to kill. I just need you to issue an order and an explanation," Lin Yan said.
The man with gray hair looked up slightly and said, "Feel free to state your terms."
"Cancel the search for Professor Li and ," Lin Yan said.
"What else?" the gray-haired man asked.
"Tell all mbers of the foundation that I will be the de facto manager of HCP from now on," Lin Yan said.
The mbers of the O5 exchanged looks, uncertain whether to laugh or not. The blonde older woman stood up, her eyes filled with doubt and confusion, and said, "Wait, wait... Lin, you want the foundation’s managent rights? Why? Why do you think... we would give them to you?"
"Superpowers aren’t anything special; don’t think you can scare us with teleportation. Unless you can, like Him, annihilate millions in an instant," the gray-haired man said.
"The only one in this world who might compete with Him might be ," Lin Yan said.
She reached out to the blonde woman, who suddenly shrank, her skin darkened, her golden hair slowly turned white and fell out as she coughed violently, collapsing onto the table.
Lin Yan withdrew her hand, startled by the sight.
"You... what have you done?!" the gray-haired man yelled.
The others left their seats while the blonde woman struggled to rise, her hands barely supporting her upper body.
"I aged her by 30 years," Lin Yan said.
Li Xianping was also shocked, thinking to himself, "Is this... what He taught you?"
Lin Yan nodded.
"That’s impossible..." the gray-haired man still seed in disbelief.
"White King, that’s ; I am the White King! I can send Him back to 25 years ago, and then easily kill Him. But I need the resources of the HCP, I need this organization," Lin Yan said.
The council mbers looked at the now 90-year-old woman, exchanging glances. By now, the sound of running could be heard in the hallway, the sound of security guards.
"Gentlen, she’s right," the gray-haired man said.
Three seconds later, he walked to the desk and pressed the communication button, ordering the building’s guard system to cancel the highest alert status.
The security guards who had been about to break down the door had now reached it, but they all froze in place.
Lin Yan stepped forward, standing next to the gray-haired man, and looked at the array of buttons and the large touchscreen, saying, "You know what to do."
"mbers, I am Srt of the O5 Council. On behalf of the entire O5 Council, I announce two matters to you," Srt said.
"Go on," Lin Yan’s hand rested on Srt’s shoulder.
"We have decided to rescind the search for Dr. Lin Yan and Dr. Li Xianping. They are still our colleagues," Srt said.
He paused before continuing, "Furthermore... they will join the O5 Council, becoming the highest managers of the foundation. This statent takes effect from this mont."
