Lin Yan paused for a mont before saying, "Do you know where the rooms of these three people are? If they are too close to each other, it might be troubleso."
"His room was changed so ti ago, and Zhao Ling stays with him, not on the sa floor as the children. Rada Gan is usually in his office, I don’t know about Yaha... Oh, he has a sheep with him now, used to follow him, but now it’s Yaha’s pet. If Yaha happens to be in his room, he would be on the sa floor as the children... My room is right next to his," Fujiwara explained.
She didn’t withhold anything; Wei Tianyang had made a move against her, betraying her first.
"I could first stop the ti in the entire hotel..." Lin Yan said, while planning the steps of the operation.
First freeze the hotel, so it was safe to enter, but during the freeze, locked doors couldn’t be opened. Once she resud ti, to others, it would seem like they had teleported into the hotel.
"My children exist in objective reality, but objective reality itself isn’t affected by ti, so... your power might not work there," Fujiwara explained.
Lin Yan had once been briefly brought into objective reality by Wei Tianyang and couldn’t bear the pressure; just a few minutes had caused her to faint.
She wasn’t sure if she could still withstand that ntal pressure in objective reality now.
In objective reality, Wei Tianyang could move freely, so to rescue Fujiwara’s deford descendants, they had to first bring them into reality.
"We would need to undo the ti stop three tis... first to open the doors, secondly, for you to bring your deford children into reality, let them co here first," Lin Yan said.
The third ti would be to gather the orphaned soldiers; they had been living in the hotel for too long, and whether they wanted to leave or not was still a question.
"I’ll do my best, and try to persuade them. Can you stop ti just for them individually?" Fujiwara asked.
"I can, but I’m not very skilled yet... I don’t know how long the ti stop can last, so you better not waste too much ti," Lin Yan replied.
"Right... why can’t I use my power in this space? Is it because of it?" Fujiwara said, looking towards the White King.
"This is a separate isolated space; I don’t understand the principle, but here, all superpowers are ineffective, mine included. It must have its reasons," Lin Yan replied.
"Alright, then, let’s take action now, to avoid unnecessary delays. He acts on his thoughts imdiately, and won’t give us much ti. You know his power... if he decides to act... it could all end very quickly," Fujiwara said.
Lin Yan looked at the White King and said, "Big guy, can we go back two weeks? Like when I rescued Professor Li, before the lab was destroyed, and bring out those deford creatures."
The White King shook his head.
"I know... you’re trying hard to avoid contact with him, but so things are inevitable," Lin Yan said.
"His actions have been set, and the Chapters refuse to be altered," said the White King.
"What does that an..." Lin Yan asked.
"The past has been sealed, I can only stop, not go back," the White King replied.
Cold sweat ran down Lin Yan’s forehead, "That’s not... not realistic. You are a Heavenly Falling Object, and he is just a human who used Black dicine. Are you saying he has the power to lock your ability to travel through ti?"
"Not him... it’s the Grand Narrative," said the White King.
"Grand Narrative?" This was the first ti Lin Yan had heard of the concept.
"What grand narrative? What did it say?" Fujiwara asked.
"Your end has been determined, he is finishing the story... Only if I still exist afterward, can I go back," the White King explained.
For a mont, Lin Yan was sowhat dazed and disillusioned. She had been confident about finding a way to deal with Wei Tianyang, but now, hearing what the White King said, she felt sowhat disheartened.
"Lin Yan, what did it say?" Fujiwara asked.
"Nothing much. So technical issues... We’ll proceed as we discussed earlier, enter the hotel... and bring the people here," Lin Yan said.
She didn’t tell Fujiwara and Li Xianping about what the White King had said; now was not the ti to dampen spirits.
"Thank you, Lin! As long as we can rescue those children, I’ll help you!" Fujiwara said.
"Alright... then... let’s go now, and get the kids out..." Lin Yan said.
Li Xianping then said, "I’ll stay here, to assist you guys. If I go outside I’d be a burden, but in here, I feel like I have endless energy, just like when I was young!"
"Good! Professor Li, prepare so dications, the kind we brought from the lab, like sedatives, Black dicine antidotes, or whatever else that might be useful," Lin Yan said.
"Right, I’ll prepare now, and if all goes well, you’ll be back in the blink of an eye," Li Xianping said while heading towards the apartnt building.
Lin Yan and Fujiwara Makoto looked at each other wordlessly. She opened a portal, and they both leaped through.
They erged from the bright space into a pitch-dark place. Fujiwara was not used to it and imdiately tried her superpower, successfully creating a flashlight.
Snap, the flashlight turned on, its beam sweeping over the surrounding ss.
"Where is this?" Fujiwara asked.
"This is a half-built apartnt building that was halted. Below is a parking garage, located in the lower city of Felda, not far from his hotel," Lin Yan replied.
The parking lot was empty and quiet, showing no signs of holess inhabitation because all the holess in Felda had been captured by Wei Tianyang’s n for experints.
Lin Yan confidently walked to the ramp leading up from the parking lot, where the light from the street above shone down, illuminating a small patch at the top of the slope.
Fujiwara Makoto walked up, her body emitting bursts of purple light as she transford into a new outfit—a dark hoodie and sweatpants.
"It’s easier to move this way. He won’t recognize imdiately." Seeing the perplexed look from Lin Yan, Fujiwara explained.
"Ready to go up?" Lin Yan asked.
"You seem nervous," Fujiwara remarked.
Lin Yan shook her head and, together with Fujiwara, walked out of the parking garage.
It was just nightfall. So ti had passed since the night Fujiwara was severely injured. The White King could no longer reverse the ti in this world, only follow its flow.
The deux moved low-key, finding themselves now across from the hotel. The dark building lood over them as if Wei Tianyang was standing right in front of them.
"This is the mont, Lin," Fujiwara said.
Lin Yan nodded, raised her right hand, and snapped her fingers, halting ti.
