4:00 AM.

The alarm bells of the Black dicine Investigation Team’s barracks blared loudly.

Wang Ye woke from his sleep, but Da Gu and Schweinsteiger were quicker, already dressed and rushing to the door.

Rubbing his eyes as he rose, he grabbed his coat and ran to assemble in the training yard.

At that ti, the sky was still dark, but the night was fading. The military helicopters were undergoing their final checks.

"What’s happening?" Wang Ye asked.

Da Gu shook his head, "I don’t know, it happened suddenly."

"Look, it’s the commander, I didn’t expect him to co in person." Schweinsteiger said.

Dressed now, he stood in formation, and soon the group quieted down.

The commander stood on the truck and spoke a few words, essentially saying that sothing massive had fallen from the sky into Federation territory, and the Black dicine Investigation Team was to coordinate an operation with the Federation Army.

"Coordinate an operation? No, that’s nonsense," Wang Ye muttered under his breath.

"How so?" Schweinsteiger asked, puzzled.

"I’ve encountered this situation before... the Emperor of Yin Country... she had turned into that kind of thing before, under those circumstances, infantry is pointless, what’s needed are missiles and the air force. What’s the point of sending us in?" Wang Ye said.

"The Federation Army is also mobilizing, maybe they have a different plan?" Da Gu also sensed there was a problem.

"We’re moving out, go get your gear!" Schweinsteiger clapped them on the shoulders.

Although Wang Ye was suspicious, he could only follow the orders.

anwhile, in the White House conference room, President Laischette was discussing more details with his military staff, when his secretary approached and whispered, "Mr. President, the acting chairman of the United Council, Mr. Pence, is on the phone."

President Laischette paused for a mont and said, "I understand."

The secretary added, "He seems very urgent, saying the consequences will be severe if you don’t speak to him."

President Laischette chuckled, "What does the United Council want to do?"

With that, he stood up and walked out of the conference room, entering the presidential office.

The secretary switched the call to the desk phone in the office, and President Laischette took a deep breath and picked up the receiver.

"Pence, don’t make feel like you’re wasting my ti," he said.

Pence replied, "I’m aware of the situation within your territory; you can’t handle it alone."

"That’s not for you to decide, Pence! I advise you not to overstep, we will handle this ourselves," President Laischette said.

"I know what you intend to do, but this matter concerns the fate of all humanity; do you realize how big that thing is?" Pence said.

"Don’t interfere. Do not attempt to challenge the Federation Army," President Laischette threatened.

"In fact, I am already involved. The Black dicine Investigation Team will enter your territory and join forces with your army; we will not let you handle this alone," Pence replied.

"I will not authorize your entry! If your Black dicine Army dares to step onto Federation soil, that will be considered an invasion!" President Laischette said.

"Whether it’s an invasion or not, you’d have to ask Wei Tianyang about that," Pence replied.

"You! You can’t say that na!" President Laischette suddenly panicked.

"What do you an? We’ve also contacted Wei Tianyang; he will be coming with the Black dicine Investigation Team. If you have any complaints, talk to him!" Pence said.

"Don’t ntion that na! You fool!" President Laischette shrieked.

After that, he swiftly hung up the phone, beads of sweat already appearing on his forehead.

At this mont, he imdiately took out his mobile phone and sent an email to Spencer.

When he reentered the conference room, President Laischette appeared worried. As he took his seat, the army staff officer continued the previous topic of discussion, only to be interrupted by him.

"We will not be using nuclear weapons for now," President Laischette shook his head.

"Why?! Could it be..." The army staff officer had guessed so of the reasons.

President Laischette nodded.

At the sa ti, the Black dicine Investigation Team had already deployed. Large military transport planes carrying 2000 infantryn flew for 2 hours and finally landed at the Federation Army base in North Carolosna, joining the Rangers and converging towards the direction of the colossal entity.

Wang Ye sat in a Humvee, staring out at the red wasteland through the window. At 6 a.m., the vast wilderness resembled a red ocean, and due to its imnse size, even though the Humvee was driving fast, the scenery outside seed stationary.

After driving about 20 kiloters, Wang Ye faintly discerned, above the horizon’s mountain ranges, a giant black humanoid standing at the interstice of heaven and earth, motionless, looking up at the sky.

"What is that?! Is that...?" Wang Ye was rarely surprised.

"That thing right there, big, isn’t it? We still have so distance from it, but you can see it from here," the driver said.

"Is it just standing there motionless?" Wang Ye asked.

The Rangers’ machine gunner turned his head from the passenger seat and said, "You better pray it just stands there forever without moving."

Wang Ye stared at it, suddenly feeling a surge of fear within him.

That night in Yin Country, the mutated Zhao Ling was also motionless... Perhaps these beings are just like that, their behavior insect-like; either totally still or moving rapidly. Wang Ye didn’t know what they were doing, only that once they started moving, many would die.

"They won’t just remain still," Wang Ye said.

"You sound like you have experience?" the Rangers’ machine gunner joked.

"You should be serious. For all we know, it might turn around, and we could all be dead," Wang Ye said.

Seeing the serious and earnest expression on Wang Ye’s face, the Rangers’ laughter subsided.

At this very mont, Wei Tianyang had already arrived at the United Council Headquarters. Years later, he returned to this white building, but without any sense of nostalgia.

He didn’t want to end this crisis too soon, so he didn’t rush to where the gigantic entity was.

Wei Tianyang wanted to know what it was capable of and, ideally, let it kill thousands, maybe tens of thousands of people before taking action himself.

Pence’s team had a brief eting with him and prepared his equipnt.

These pieces of equipnt were aningless, but wearing them was important because the uniform was also a representation of identity.

Wei Tianyang donned a desert camouflage combat suit and was equipped with a gauss rifle, a newly developed weapon specifically for killing soldiers with superpowers. It fired electromagnetic-accelerated steel pellets at a velocity four tis faster than bullets, and its power was much greater than ordinary 5.62 mm bullets, but its recoil was only equivalent to a pistol.

Human beings are like this, investing money and ti into researching how to destroy themselves efficiently.

"Have you arranged a plane?" Wei Tianyang asked.

Pence was taken aback.

"What? You haven’t prepared that much?" Wei Tianyang laughed.

"I... I thought... you would fly there on your own," Pence said uneasily.

"Flying that far is exhausting, prepare a plane for ," Wei Tianyang said.
