At 4 a.m., Wei Tianyang flew back to Heisai State.
He entered the room quietly and saw Baphot’s eyes emitting a faint glow in the darkness.
Yaha was hugging Zhao Ling, both sound asleep on the cushion. Wei Tianyang tapped Baphot, and both man and sheep entered objective reality.
"What’s with your eyes? Can a sheep’s eyes glow in the dark?" Wei Tianyang asked.
"Spending too much ti with you, I think so of your characteristics have rubbed off on ," Baphot communicated telepathically.
Wei Tianyang grew cautious and said, "What do you an?"
"Don’t be nervous. I know you might mistake this for siphoning your abilities, but that’s not possible. What I an is, the energy emanating from you constantly influences the surroundings. Since I’ve been with you for so long, I’ve also acquired so traits that seem like blessings or curses," Baphot explained.
"Going by your logic, Yaha has also been with for a considerable ti. Why hasn’t she changed?" Wei Tianyang asked.
"You just haven’t noticed. I believe my eyesight has improved, and look at , being a sheep, I seem to have forgotten how to age. Think about it, has Yaha been sick lately?" Baphot said.
Wei Tianyang thought it over and realized it was true. Moreover, as part of his retinue, Helena Mina continually grew younger. He now felt like a router broadcasting WIFI signals; those around him benefited in so way, although the effects were subtle.
"Basking in the glory of the King, eh? Horned one, you’re increasingly befitting of a deity – just a few steps away now. Really, you’re just those few steps short of divinity," Baphot said.
"I haven’t yet decided what kind of god I want to be, and even though I know there are enemies in the skies, I don’t know how to unite everyone," Wei Tianyang said.
"As I’ve said before, you’re still not clear about what you actually are. Until then, you’ll stumble and fumble around. However, you’re getting closer. I’ve been watching and waiting; you’ve beco much stronger than you were years ago," Baphot said.
"They fear openly, but deep down, they don’t take seriously. They just see as a tool. The fear seems baseless, re lip service," Wei Tianyang said.
"It’s because you haven’t posed a real threat to them. You haven’t demonstrated the ruling power you should have over them," Baphot said.
"I know, I just don’t want to be like that... Zhao Ling is a case in point. Rule by fear and conspiracy doesn’t last long and won’t win true allies. But I also despise alliances bound rely by interest or blood. What I want are companions sharing the sa goals. Sadly... all these years, I haven’t t one. Perhaps... perhaps Yaha is one, but... no, she doesn’t count. If it weren’t for the pharmaceutical company’s list, she wouldn’t have co looking for ," Wei Tianyang said.
"What is she to you, exactly? Horned one," Baphot asked.
Wei Tianyang fell silent for a while, then said, "She is my starting point, a part of my soul."
They disconnected from objective reality, and at that mont, Ruan Yu hurriedly burst through the door.
"What’s going on?!" Wei Tianyang demanded.
"Wei Tianyang! Our transport team has been attacked!" Ruan Yu reported.
"Attacked? Who could attack ?!" Wei Tianyang exclaid in anger.
The Heavenly Falling Objects that Johnny had stored all over the world had to be transported to the offshore drilling facilities managed by Rada Gan, and for safety and secrecy, this was done by the corpses’ motorcade in objective reality.
Which country’s superpower special forces could be so bold?
As Wei Tianyang pondered, Ruan Yu said, "Living creatures falling from the sky. They’re attacking us!"
Wei Tianyang’s eyes turned fierce. The enemies from the skies had never taken the offensive before. Why were they acting so restless now?
"Horned one... you flew too far last ti; they know about you. They who used to just observe are now taking the offensive; the only thing here worth their effort is you. It might be a trap; be prepared," Baphot said.
Even if it were a trap, he had to go.
"Where?" Wei Tianyang asked.
"The southern mountain range of Libitelli. They sent a distress signal half an hour ago," Ruan Yu said.
Without the slightest hesitation, Wei Tianyang walked swiftly to the window, with Baphot following.
"Horned one! Take with you!" it telepathically requested, looking up.
"You have no combat ability, and when I fight them, I can’t look out for you!" Wei Tianyang said.
"I can hide. Don’t forget our last encounter! Without , you’d be dead! Life with you has been enjoyable; don’t let it end abruptly!" Baphot said.
Wei Tianyang turned to smile, bent down to lift Baphot, and whooshed out the window, imdiately accelerating to Mach 30, flying like a teor into the clouds.
"Baaahhh!" Baphot’s protective shield activated slowly, and the harsh wind caused its head to ache, making it bleat aloud.
Twelve minutes later, Wei Tianyang arrived at the border of Libitelli. The southern mountains were bathed in the dream-like dark blue of dawn with limited visibility, but among them, two tall, black shadows stood starkly, swaggering in place. The Libitelli news must have already blocked the news.
"We’re here, those are them," Baphot communicated.
"Any suggestions?" Wei Tianyang said.
"When you first t , you didn’t waste much ti talking," Baphot said.
Wei Tianyang landed on the ground, set down Baphot, and imdiately transford into a gigantic black giant.
His true body had been restored, with two black horns on his forehead and his entire form like that of obsidian, radiating a dazzling spectrum of light against the darkness. Atop his forehead rested a single horn, and his arms, lined with spikes on the outside, had their chitinous structure further changed, morphing into a semi-transparent gelatinous muscle.
He clenched his right fist, and as soon as his shape solidified, he charged at the two shadows. His body, towering over the mountains, shook loose the snowcaps as he ran, and rocks tumbled down the slopes, creating a mudslide.
The creatures were not humanoid but rather two upright nematodes, bulky and semi-transparent, with countless hair-like tentacles on their bodies.
He didn’t take a closer look; he punched and shattered one of them, sending his body flying far away. Half of the nematode vanished in mid-air, and its remaining half suddenly dropped to the ground and ran along the ridge, its tentacles now functioning as legs, moving at a surprisingly quick pace.
The other vanished on the spot, and then Wei Tianyang heard a voice in his mind:
"Wait, hold on!"
