Three days after the incident in Yin Country’s Prosperous City and the attack on the Sethiyan Federation White House.
Congress Building.
The House of Representatives, White House officials, and the military gathered in the Roundtable Hall, arguing heatedly.
The Republican candidate for executive heavily criticized Bideng, Saint Mary expressed dissatisfaction with the military’s performance in the attack, and the military believed that Congress was hiding sothing.
Bideng had already passed 80, relying on technology to extend his life, yet his body remained robust.
After losing Lilith, he also lost the capital to continue confronting Wei Tianyang. The desire to extend his life fell on various life science foundations. In the first two years after the shocking war, he lived in constant fear, dreading Wei Tianyang might co seeking revenge soday.
However, after so many years, Wei Tianyang reappeared once but did not co after him again, which ant either Wei Tianyang did not recognize him, or just did not take him seriously.
Both outcos were quite hurtful...
Fortunately, his life was not in danger, and he still held onto power. Now, Bideng’s focus was entirely on competing with his political rivals.
The recent White House attack was too mysterious; the assassin entered as if no one was there without triggering any alarms, which inevitably raised suspicions of a spy within.
That night, Bideng was not in the White House, but in his ho study, accompanied by a superpower-special force unit capable of teleporting by observing photos of two locations, which was very convenient.
The attacker of the White House was undoubtedly a superpower soldier, but Bideng was unconcerned about this. It would be figured out eventually, what concerned him more was the opposing party’s executive candidate.
According to Federation law, he could only be re-elected once more, and if he lost the election, he could not run again.
Thus, the executive election at year’s end was more important than anything.
His competitor was a fellow 20 years his junior, aggressive, humorous, and impatient.
That night, Bideng was the first to receive a call.
The military, indeed, called him at the sa ti to ask if he should deploy the Superpower Special Departnt to interfere, but fearing the exposure of a docunt related to the restoration of Yixu, Bideng rely requested that the military control the streets from the periphery and only sent the National Guard to suppress.
This abnormal command greatly angered the military high command, who suspected the executive had withheld necessary information, resulting in the White House being razed, while the opposing party’s executive candidate consolidated Bideng’s series of missteps over the past years and attacked him aggressively.
The assembly recognized the seriousness of the situation and so wanted to address it to bring the Federation back on track.
But the crooked cabinet had gathered too much dust underneath over ti, and pests had built nests there; no one had thought of straightening it before. Even now, due to so more pressing matters needing it to be straightened, there would be significant resistance.
"That was an Asian face, obviously," the House of Representatives Speaker Saint Mary said.
"Do you think this incident is related to what happened in Yin Country that night?" the Defense Secretary asked.
"Wei Tianyang," Bideng replied, his voice low, leaning back in his chair.
"Discussing Yin Country now is premature. When the White House was attacked, the executive issued wrong commands, leading to 34 operatives tragically killed and the National Guard forced into a fierce battle with a fully-ard superpower soldier, suffering heavy casualties," the candidate stated.
"Donny, the Federation might have been infiltrated," Bideng said.
"Wait a second, Bideng, wait a second. Tell , who has the capability and desire to invade the Sethiyan Federation?" Donny asked.
"Obviously Yin Country; they have Wei Tianyang!" Bideng exclaid.
"I see no need for them to do that, and besides, they too were attacked that night, with Fengrao City being destroyed," Donny responded.
"They destroyed Fengrao City, so they decided to invade us, wanting to seize our Georgetown," Bideng argued.
"Oh... co on, Bideng," Donny laughed.
"I see a crisis and believe this is enough for us to enter a state of war! Yin Country might use Wei Tianyang to invade us, the White House was just a test," Bideng argued.
"We cannot approve your request to bring the Federation into a warti state; the governors of the states won’t agree either," Saint Mary intervened.
"The Emperor of Yin Country, Zhao Ling, has been confird dead, this is a good opportunity to step in," the Defense Secretary stated.
"Will Wei Tianyang interfere?" the Chief of Naval Staff asked.
"We need to contact the United Council and confirm his current status. We once tried to control Helena Mina but were retaliated against," the Defense Secretary responded.
"Is there really no one on this planet who can deal with him?" the Chief of Naval Staff sighed.
At that mont, the great doors of the hall opened, and a frail old woman with short white hair stood at the entrance; she looked about the sa age as Helena Mina but much thinner.
People looked at her, remaining silent.
The room was filled with confusion and an anticipation of amusent; Bideng did not intend to engage with this suddenly erged old woman, her re presence indicated so corresponding background, and since Bideng did not recognize her, he chose to observe quietly.
"Good morning, I am Ezekiel," the white-haired old woman introduced herself.
Officials from the military, White House, and the House of Representatives looked at each other, trying to figure out who this Ezekiel was.
"I am here to announce sothing to you all that has not yet occurred," Ezekiel began, not opening her mouth, but everyone heard her voice in their heads.
Initially unsettled, the people then realized she had a superpower.
In the military seats, so had already started making confirmation calls.
"I foresee a war that should not happen, taking place amid our destruction," Ezekiel stated.
"That’s a poorly phrased sentence," Saint Mary said.
"It depends on how you understand it," Ezekiel replied.
"Stop speaking in riddles; what is your superpower?" Saint Mary asked.
"To put it grandly, I can see the future. Thus, they call a prophet," Ezekiel claid.
"Who? Who calls you a prophet?" Saint Mary inquired.
"I thought you’d be more interested in foreseeing the future," Ezekiel said.
"There are plenty of people who can predict the future; three prophets walk past my doorstep every afternoon," Saint Mary retorted.
She finished speaking, and soone laughed.
"I’m not joking," Ezekiel said.
The military personnel looked at her warily.
"I know you’re looking into ; you won’t find in your systems," Ezekiel stated.
"Let’s talk about what you saw, Lady Ezekiel, what did you see?" the Commander-in-chief asked.
"Our division and the coming of an apocalypse," Ezekiel replied.
