The communication channel had been quiet for a while.
By now, the helicopter Wang Ye was riding had drawn close to the outer periter of Fengrao City. The high-speed railway tracks and the factories in the suburbs were clearly visible beneath them, and the low buildings in the distance resembled a concrete sea undulating in the darkness. The brightly colored colossal city lit up half the sky, but at the very top, a palm-sized dark shadow was especially conspicuous.

"We’re trying to make contact! But Venerable Qin has not connected to the military channel, and her personal contact thods are completely under Silence!" the supre commander said.
There was another bout of silence on the channel; everyone knew what this ant.
The damn woman ran off by herself when trouble arose and didn’t plan to handle this matter at all.
"We can’t just keep at a stalemate like this!!" the rocket force commander said.
"Evacuate the civilians first! You guys target that thing, and send infantry with experts from the Academy up there! Try to make contact with the Emperor!" the command ca down from the commander.
Then, the whole array started to get back into action, but the fighter jets were really struggling; after wasting so much ti, the twenty-so fighter jets that had taken off from various airports could only return to refuel.
At that mont, four infantry brothers from the sa dorm privately ssaged Wang Ye, "Brother! Where does your mom live?!"
Wang Ye’s heart ward, and he quickly replied to the private ssage, "Thanks! Over here!"
He sent the map coordinates of his house, and the other party said, "Our squad starts evacuating civilians from the periter, keep an eye on the Emperor’s movents up there."

Before he could finish speaking, a blinding green light beam lit up half the sky and emitted a piercing high-frequency wave sound.

Following the direction of the expanding beam, a helicopter hovering high in the sky exploded.
In the HUD’s array, five lights went out instantly.
The channel turned into chaos:
"Number 4 has been shot down!!"
"Is that the Emperor?! Who’s taking responsibility?!"
"I don’t know!!"
"Are we firing or not? Hurry the fuck up!!"
"Fuck it!! Fire the cannons!!"
"Fire!!"
The rocket force, stationed dozens of kiloters away, was the first to open fire. Even from Fengrao City, Wang Ye could see a row of white lights brightening up the dark horizon; then, dozens of white trails spread out in the sky, heading this way.
At the sa ti, he heard the helicopter’s warning radar wailing frantically.
"What’s happening?!" Wang Ye asked urgently.
The pilot said, "The radar has detected a large number of unidentified flying objects, but I can’t see anything!"
"Could it be the Rocket Army’s artillery?" a teammate asked.
"No! They’re as big as people, alive! But I can’t see a thing!!" the pilot said.
Before he could finish speaking, the helicopter’s rotor seed to have shredded sothing. A hefty, viscous lower half of a snake or nematode fell off, splattering a large amount of green thick juice onto Wang Ye’s helt visor.
"Fuck!!! What the fuck is that!!!" Wang Ye leaned back, and another teammate quickly grabbed him and helped him wipe it off.
At that mont, a woman, bare-chested and flapping six large transparent insect wings, clung to the cabin door, trying to get in.
Wang Ye saw that the woman’s appearance was not human at all, she had no nostrils, her sclera was completely black, and her mouth was open, full of serrated teeth.
He pushed his teammate away and kicked her off.
At this ti, the helicopter began to maneuver sharply. The radar could detect, but these things seed invisible from a certain distance.
Wang Ye quickly got into position; other people in the frequency also marked the unidentified flying creatures in the airspace.
The artillery fire ca over at that mont, lasting only 12 seconds.

Wang Ye, firing the autocannon into the airspace, couldn’t see the creatures, but the bullets hit sothing after travelling a certain distance, and many hit marks appeared on the HUD of his helt.
After firing continuously for 12 seconds, his teammate quickly removed the gun barrel, replaced it with a new one, and Wang Ye nodded inside his helt, pulling up maps to check on the ground troops.
The teams responsible for evacuation were actually understaffed; there were over 6,000 infantryn, but they couldn’t evacuate millions of people overnight, and moreover, the Emperor was right above them, launching indiscriminate attacks.
Moreover, Wang Ye was sure that thing had more capabilities than this; it wasn’t likely to just have these two tricks; it was being too lazy now. The Emperor had previously ordered the troops to co support... perhaps, it was her residual will struggling at the end.

After a round of artillery, the top floor of Fengrao City had collapsed, Lingxiao Palace and the lower level’s Jade Pavilion must have been destroyed, the beautiful glass do garden shattered into bits, and the pool water cascaded down, slamming into the civilian area below through the open courtyards.
The ground forces cursed loudly, tanks broke through walls, creating pathways to guide people who had just woken up to evacuate as quickly as possible, while broadcasts continuously reported trying to wake up citizens still in deep sleep.

At that mont, at the smoke-enveloped top, sothing moved, a long tail whipped through the air like a lash, then coiled back into the dark mist.
Then, a woman’s gigantic face popped out of the thick fog, long black hair cascading down, her snake-like long neck allowing her head to reach far out from the fog, a pair of purple pupils flickering with strange light, visible to everyone through various instrunts and observational thods.
She was Zhao Ling.
