The military base is where Mayer, Snake Scorpion Woman, and their core mbers started setting up from the very beginning, transforming from the villa area into various warehouses, and then building electric towers in various places, it was all established bit by bit by them.
They foresaw that after this place was discovered, it would likely beco a ss, or perhaps changed beyond recognition due to a war breaking out between both sides, or even...
However, they never expected that returning to the military base would look like this...
The base was quiet and peaceful, as if nothing had happened, the guardian on the tower was still browsing their phone, and the patrolling person yawned as they walked by.
When their bus returned unchanged, nobody at the base even bothered to check it, allowing it to pass directly.
However, inside the bus, at this mont, aside from Mayer and a few others who left, everyone else had already been replaced!
Snake Scorpion Woman was still puzzled, "This base doesn’t seem any different from before, does it?"

Jing Shu and Yang Yang parted ways, taking only Hao Yunlai and a few others with her.
Jing Shu glanced at the ti, "Let’s move, we have just over an hour until the shift change, by then we should be discovered, our ti is running out."
Snake Scorpion Woman and Tie Chui were still a bit puzzled, but when they reached the passageway from last night’s garage where Jing Shu slept, and then ca to the Underground Kingdom, only then did they understand what the new base ant.
Overnight, the underground tunnels had expanded significantly.
Even Mayer showed a shocked expression, last night it was just a few tunnels branching out, but today, not only had the tunnels as a whole beco bigger, even the branches had multiplied significantly.
"Is this— is this the new base?" Tie Chui swallowed hard, wanting to ask when the tunnel was dug, but held back.
Following the map, Jing Shu first arrived at Snake Scorpion Woman’s residence, here there was a nest of snake holes, housing hundreds of snakes, quite a few snake eggs, and monsters that didn’t quite look like snakes.
Snake Scorpion Woman was researching a new type of Dark Creature, injecting sothing extracted from her blood into these snakes, to see what monsters they might mutate into.
Originally an ordinary woman, but after the apocalypse, during a forage for food, she accidentally fell into a nest of mutated Black Snakes and miraculously survived, fusing with the snakes.
This was also the reason why Jing Shu spared her life, although Snake Scorpion Woman herself may not be strong, there should be sothing in her blood worth researching.
At worst, raising more snakes with Snake Scorpion Woman would be excellent.
In short, in this apocalypse, anything related to consumption, Jing Shu believed should be developed to the fullest.
In the tunnels, Jing Shu encountered Guo Tou and Wen Jun.
Wen Jun was holding an account book, jotting down records swiftly, while Xiao Wei curiously examined the resources in the underground tunnel.
The underground tunnel buzzed with activity, like ants moving house, leaving them dumbfounded, initially thinking the New Humans of the organization were highly unconventional, but compared to these Huaxia people, they felt trivial. Just looking at Xiao Wei’s monstrous form... left them gasping. And, how many of these insects were there in this full tunnel? Tens of thousands? Hundreds of thousands?
They spent half a year initially moving resources in, but the insects here? How long did it take? How quickly could they move such a huge amount of resources out?
"How’s it going?" Jing Shu asked, "We need to hurry, shift change is almost here."
Every so often, all the guards above would change shifts, during the shift change, they would enter the villa and the warehouses to check the resources and then sign off the exchange ceremony, like exchanging gold at a bank counter. Otherwise, if sothing went wrong, who are they going to bla?
Wen Jun looked up and said, "No major problems, there’s just a little left, it should all be transported underground before they find out. We’ve sealed up the tunnels with dirt to cover all relocated resources."
Jing Shu nodded, "Not getting discovered is best, after all, there is still a small amount of combat power on the surface, solving it would be too troubleso, and I just heard from these guys that they actually have a satellite phone and a locator. If they call for help, it might force out the opposing army, then it won’t end well."
Guo Tou said, "Okay, Sister Jing, did your outing go smoothly today?"
"Smooth enough, other squads have new targets, after this is done we need to head over to Hansi." Jing Shu said.
Xiao Wei’s eyes lit up, "I’ve heard Hansi’s place is wealthy, though they don’t have a sea, they have plenty of oil, if we could dig into oil fields underground, that’d be perfect."
Jing Shu smiled gently, as those oil fields are controlled by forces with influence, their territories might be inaccessible.
While they were conversing, a distressing alarm sounded throughout the military base, even echoing in depths underground.
Jing Shu didn’t even need to go atop to know what had happened; a guard had tried to fetch so ammunition and discovered that everything was gone, leading them to panic and trigger the alarm imdiately.
"Not good, we’ve been exposed! Wen Jun, escort Xiao Wei out of here! We’ll handle the cleanup! You go et with Zhang Lang and the others outside, prioritize survival! Zhang Lang already has an escape route prepared."
Xiao Wei’s massive body quickly crawled into the drilling insect and was transported away, she had beco quite adept at fleeing, which would have been unimaginable a year before for a Mother Worm as large as she was to be so agile.
Once Xiao Wei was gone, Jing Shu instructed Guo Tou to continue moving resources, while she led Hao Yunlai and the other main combat forces to the surface.
There were still so resources to transport up, alongside wrapping up the finishing tasks.
Whether or not to transport the last bit of resources would depend on the opposition’s combat power.
With the alarm blaring, alarms across the entire base began sounding, they all were struck with fear realizing, the resources they had guarded for years without a move, still present at yesterday’s handover, had vanished today... did all those rooms full of weapons grow wings and fly away?
