The man in the villa’s expression beca utterly bizarre. He had initially wanted to get closer to Jing Shu, but now he imdiately took several steps back. Was this woman too terrifying? At a ti like this, she was still wondering if these monsters were edible? Was she the Devil?

"Wait... these bones are so big; they look like they might be edible. Even if they’re not, couldn’t they be used as weapons or for other material purposes? Like as raw materials, ingredients, or construction materials?" Jing Shu’s eyes lit up. In the apocalypse, anything edible or usable was a good thing, a valuable thing.

The man retreated all the way back into the villa. He was deeply unsettled; he had never seen anyone gaze at a pile of white bones with such sparkling eyes. This person was too frightening.

"Maybe we should head back to the villa and hide? Once their numbers increase, it’ll be..."

Whether the man’s words were a jinx or not, no more rotten rmaids fell from the upper floors. However, a great many of them suddenly surged out from other corners, keenly sensing where any females were in the dark.

THUD, THUD, THUD... The oppressive footsteps approached, like the march of the Grim Reaper.

At this mont, their objective was clear: they were heading towards the villa in the central exhibition hall. Jing Shu frowned. There were too many of them; if she were to hack at them one by one, she would definitely not be fast enough.

Most importantly, Jing Shu, who cherished her life dearly, would not allow herself to be put in danger.

All of Jing Shu’s special abilities, like controlling insects and snakes, were physical. The gloves on her hands could kill so, but it was far from enough.

These rotten rmaids were afraid of fire, light, and electricity.

Jing Shu’s eyes suddenly sparkled as a plan ford in her mind. She turned to the people still peeking out and shouted, "Run! Get back to the villa and lock the doors! A lot of monsters are coming!"

No sooner had Jing Shu spoken than the people in the neighboring villas imdiately slamd their doors shut with a BANG. Then ca sounds of clattering as they barricaded the doors with objects.

Once Jing Shu saw no one was paying attention to her, she cranked up her spatial storage’s power-generating equipnt to maximum output. Then, she poured all the wastewater she had stored out from her space, splashing it directly onto the ground where the charging rotten rmaids were crawling, and laid down the electrical wires.

BZZT! CRACKLE!

These rotten rmaids were quick, certainly faster than the average person. The mont they reached the puddle, they instantly started twitching. Considering their bodies likely contained a lot of water, the effect was much better than Jing Shu had anticipated.

Any other rotten rmaids that touched those already twitching also began to convulse, unable to move. One after another, row upon row—it was quite a spectacle!

In no ti, these rotten rmaids began to foam at the mouth with black froth. They only lasted a short while before completely collapsing, turning into a ss of mud, water, and white bones. Even though the water was sowhat diluted, it didn’t affect its conductivity for Jing Shu’s trap.

Jing Shu was having a great ti with this. This strategy is ingenious! It’s exhilarating! It’s like a Mage standing in an invincibility circle, continuously casting AOE spells and just racking up kills!

However, so rotten rmaids didn’t fall into the trap. Their targets were clearly the other people in the villas. They seed able to sense them distinctly, so they headed straight for their targets. But, not knowing where the main entrance was and appearing confused, they just smashed straight into the sides of the occupied villas.

With their two-ter-long bodies, Jing Shu estimated they weighed at least a few hundred kilograms. They smashed headlong without any apparent pain or sensation, producing a series of dull THUDS. Inside, the people began to scream in terror, even though the creatures were only hitting the walls.

However, as long as they don’t ram the door, there shouldn’t be a major problem in the short term. Jing Shu furrowed her brows as more and more rotten rmaids erged. This wasn’t a sustainable solution; the villa’s surroundings were already piled with white bones—probably dozens of them by now—and they just kept coming.

While Jing Shu spread more water to extend the electrified area, she also dispatched her insects to search for the source of the creatures.

The screams from upstairs continued unabated, but now the sounds of weapons could also be heard, suggesting a fight was underway.

Jing Shu quickly found the source: a bathroom in the building where the rotten rmaids were climbing up through a sewer! This sewer connected directly to the mud pit below. The erging rotten rmaids either continued upward or headed straight for the first floor, each seemingly with its own target.

It’s strange that the rotten rmaids didn’t climb in from outside but found such a hidden entrance. No wonder they snuck directly into the building. However, this entrance is clearly not for the rotten rmaids coming from above; there must be another entrance higher up.

Then Jing Shu unconsciously glanced at the hand that had just touched the bones and silently washed it. This mud is foul-slling!

Having found the source, Jing Shu didn’t dawdle. She went straight to the newly filtered water pool outside, used her spatial ability to collect a large amount of water, and then splashed it all around the bathroom before running electricity through it. The rotten rmaids approaching were electrocuted one by one.

They were like fearless warriors, advancing wave upon wave—after all, they were just low-level creatures incapable of fear.

It was just a pity about the diesel consud from her storage. She had run all the power-generating equipnt for a full hour to ensure sufficient output. The amount of diesel used was significant, and now the rotten rmaids completely covered the ground. The entire hall and connecting paths were littered with bones; one couldn’t even walk without tripping over them.

The ground was now covered with their putrid remains, giving so idea of just how nurous the monsters had been this ti!

Eventually, it ended. As if commanded, the rotten rmaids suddenly began to retreat all at once.

Before Jing Shu could react, a horde of rotten rmaids suddenly jumped down from upstairs. Loud THUDS resounded incessantly; the floor felt like it was about to break under their impact.

But jumping down was effectively suicide. Only a few found an exit and escaped; the rest, running around in chaos, were all electrocuted.

All these bones are good stuff... Jing Shu seized the mont while no one was watching, gathering many into her spatial storage, afraid they’d be discovered later.

Noises ca from upstairs, and finally, a strong beam of light illuminated the area. Li Yuetian, leading a large group of people, descended the stairs. The monsters that just escaped could threaten the people on the first floor if not dealt with, he thought.

But when Li Yuetian rushed downstairs, he was stunned.

Under the bright light, he saw an innocent-faced Jing Shu. She was bent over, wearing gloves and rain boots, holding a large pile of bones. Beside her were mountains of white bones.
