"Monopolizing magic knowledge," Garel sighed after learning about so events in this world, "was indeed a transition, yet you failed to complete it."

In the Dragon Tribe, he was considered an elder dragon who had seen too much. In his own world, the power of magic was also monopolized, largely by the noble and Imperial families. There were non-noble mages too, but they highly valued their knowledge and wouldn’t share it lightly.

After all, it wasn’t easy for them to acquire this monopolized knowledge. The harder it was to obtain, the more they cherished it, and these mages were loath to see the fruits of their hard work beco soone else’s collection...

In such an environnt, even if there were those who wished to share their knowledge, it would just end up in the hands of so ambitious individuals who would seal it off and continue the monopoly. No real dissemination was possible.

The benefits brought about by power made it difficult for those in possession of this knowledge to let go, yielding too much profit to be easily broken by a few.

Ti passed and changes ensued; the God Wars began in their world. The reasons for the God Wars’ inception were scarcely docunted, but the conflict entangled far too many people.

The knowledge-hoarding noble and Imperial families suffered trendous losses during the God Wars. They had mustered significant high-end combat forces using their monopolized knowledge, but those forces turned out to be tall targets when calamity struck from above.

Ordinary people suffered too, but as mortals, their misery didn’t involve bearing the weight of being a high target. Those tall targets couldn’t run away if they wanted to. The knowledge-hoarding nobility and certain families panicked.

During the God Wars, they were as vulnerable as ants, capable of resistance but overwheld by heavy casualties. The death toll among their ancestors was staggering.

They needed cannon fodder, so they began to divulge magic knowledge, albeit initially only the lower levels of it. Yet, this was enough to break the seal. As the intensity of the God Wars increased, those monopolizing knowledge, unable to withstand the growing pressure, were compelled to reveal even more advanced knowledge.

While the knowledge considered family heirlooms was not released, the high-tier magic of that era was no longer deed as precious.

With the widespread dissemination of magic knowledge and combat techniques, hidden geniuses erged. Many beca casualties of the God Wars or fodder for those monopolizing knowledge, but once certain boundaries were opened, they could not be closed again.

After the God Wars ended, many geniuses based on that knowledge created their unique legacies. When those once monopolizing knowledge tried to regain control, they found they no longer dared to do so...

Too many high-end combatants were lost during the war, and afterward, knowledge related to power was everywhere, with many strong individuals erging. Monopoly? How to monopolize? They’d have to check if those strong individuals agreed!

Attempting to force the issue would just result in another devastating war, aside from the God Wars.

What about bribery and alliance building? Most of the post-God-War survivors had co through hardship; they wouldn’t be easily bought or swayed. Even if so were, the rest could balance out those attempting to re-monopolize knowledge.

Tis had changed, too many people now held power, and the chance to make a significant impact just by rallying was no longer a distant dream. Thus, after another group of those attempting to monopolize knowledge perished, the rest completely abandoned the idea, choosing instead to adapt and strive for benefits in different ways...

Later, many realized that wide application of magic knowledge could yield even more benefits without the previous monopoly because the era saw an abundance of geniuses.

Thanks to magic knowledge, people invented all sorts of novelties that propelled the era forward, catapulting productivity to new heights from its previously strained state.

At last, there was the era of ’Magic and High-Tech’ that Zheng Yichen observed in Garel’s world.

"Now that I think about it," Garel mused, "that God War seed to be a catalyst for the developnt of humanity and various races... Of course, that’s just one interpretation. The actual circumstances were another matter."

There was no doubt about the God War; too many True Gods perished, and nurous God’s Corpses appeared, as the ferocity of the war gave them no ti to deal with these corpses.

Garel was a great storyteller, vividly conveying the transitional period of that era.

Weaginia said sowhat helplessly, "Our world has no gods, but there are extraterrestrial beings, which is a kind of twist, isn’t it?"

"It is a twist, but those extraterrestrials directly eliminated your chance for transition..." Garel shook his head. If the extraterrestrial beings in this world hadn’t ddled so much, it would have been a true twist. During the God Wars, the True Gods fought fiercely, indifferent to mortals’ lives, but they never attempted to limit mortal power.

Therefore, once knowledge was spread, many who had never accessed it before could quickly catch up.

But what about this world? The extraterrestrial beings, in their cunning ways, covertly observed and influenced the physiques of this world’s intelligent beings, rendering them unfit for learning magic.

They abolished their future prospects before starting their offenses. That’s the sadness of this era and world, where the full potential of magic power wasn’t realized before these events occurred. If this happened in his own world...

The human race and other alien races would have quickly noticed sothing was awry. The developnt of magic was far advanced, similar to regular health check-ups in a technological world. In his world, students would undergo dical examinations upon entering school.

rcenaries’ paperwork sotis cos with complintary physical examinations and such, and the cost of these exams is quite low. Perhaps a few abnormalities detected might not attract attention, but when similar cases are uncovered more frequently, naturally they begin to raise concerns.

Extraterrestrial beings’ attempts to target the next generation in this way wouldn’t work at all in his world; it would only expose their conspiracies prematurely.

But in this world, where knowledge is still monopolized, it’s a different story...

"I’ll go and check on so people’s health first; there might still be a chance to save them," Garel said, looking in a specific direction.

There were a few very ordinary-looking people approaching, and one of them spoke up, "Outsiders, you shouldn’t ddle in things that don’t concern you—"

"They have been modified by extraterrestrial beings, betraying this planet for power, and are very skilled at hiding in plain sight," Weaginia said with resentnt, staring at those who had willingly exposed themselves.

Such people existed everywhere...

"I can’t just sit still." Zheng Yichen slightly curled his lips and snapped his fingers. A wind ring controlled those people, and in low-intensity combat, his elental manipulation abilities had beco very powerful, especially after his foray into the Great World.

The all-around strengthening of his elents manipulation abilities ant that, in the adjacent world of magic, without using Burst Mode or martial arts, he could defeat a Demigod with this power alone.

Elents manipulation could be considered one of the most widely applicable powers. Zheng Yichen had killed many Boundary Breakers, and even if he hadn’t gained many new abilities, his existing ones had all enhanced.

"Let’s start the investigation with these people. I’m going to need a laboratory."

"Please follow ." Not wanting to waste any ti, Weaginia led the way. She reached out to touch a giant root beside her, and a door opened upon it. She explained, "This is like an elevator; it can quickly reach the World Tree."

Knowing that Zheng Yichen wouldn’t stay long, she had skipped several steps. By the ti they arrived at the World Tree, she had already communicated remotely with her people. Zheng Yichen was moved as he looked closely at the World Tree.

Trees grew on planets, but only this one could grow to such a state.

Beneath the World Tree was a city built like the stars around the moon.

Zheng Yichen figured that the real estate prices here must be the highest in the world.

The laboratory was ready for use. The people seen on the streets of Tree City were dressed in outdated, ancient clothes, but within the city, one could see many technological artifacts, sowhat reminiscent of Qi Family Town in Xiangyun’s world.

Life always finds a way... The intelligent beings of this world were unfortunate, with most of their magical abilities disabled, but with the existence of Dusk rcenaries, they had begun to study technology. However, there was simply not enough ti, and their research into technology systems was incomplete.

Thus, inevitably, so contradictory phenona were observed here: so things seed very advanced, while others were quite primitive.

There were tractors on one side and warriors wielding ion beam weapons on the other.

The disparities were significant.

"The people of this world are working hard to study technology, trying to decipher and change the sealed genes, but so far, there have been no substantial advancents," Weaginia said with so regret.

They had also sought help in other worlds, but because each world’s inhabitants had minor physiological differences, so research conducted elsewhere showed these samples to be very healthy.

Magic? What was magic? Wasn’t that just sothing from novels?

That was the situation.

"Let’s take a look first," Zheng Yichen said as he released the people from his internal space.

"Phew−finally able to get out," Lillian said, curiously looking around. She could see images of the outside while on the move in the internal space, but it wasn’t the sa as experiencing it firsthand.

"It looks like a city of elves, and this tree... it’s really huge," she said.

She was amazed at the enormous tree that soared into the sky and spanned so wide that its edges couldn’t be seen from either side.

"Ahn Ke, you check these people later on; don’t be too courteous to them. Katrina, you all are free to move about, but be cautious of extraterrestrial beings. After I gather so more information, the killing will begin."
