Many different worlds exist in a state of "parallel worlds," but not all of them; so have diverged into another form of developnt, such as the one with the bone dragons.

The world Zheng Yichen was in was quite similar to Hazy City, uh, lacking many of the distinctive features of that world, but generally similar with satellites, cars, trains, airplanes, and so on — all the usual things were present, and the entertainnt information in the magazine he was holding also aligned with Zheng Yichen’s understanding.

It’s akin to the developnt level of the 21st century. From so incomplete newspapers and the like, he’d learned that the apocalypse of this world originated from a biochemical virus.

Typically, unless a biochemical virus spreads over a wide area simultaneously, it’s unlikely to trigger an apocalypse, right? According to the newspapers, this apocalypse wasn’t related to a virus leak, but to an aberrant and extraordinary downpour.

Nobody paid much attention to the rain at first, until the bodies from car accidents during the rain began to stand up...

That was all the information he could get from the newspapers.

After lingering in one spot for a while and eating sothing, he packed up the magazine he was holding. He slotted his phone into the motorcycle’s designated spot for phones, connected the charging cable, and then continued on toward his destination.

No matter how this world has changed, he was just a passerby here, and his main purpose was still to take care of those Alien Phenonon creatures to repay a debt... Tsk.

Thinking of this made Zheng Yichen even more inclined to get rid of a certain Raymond, though it was a pity he couldn’t be sure if that na was real or fake.

The sound of the motorcycle attracted unwanted guests as more birds appeared in the sky. At first. Zheng Yichen didn’t pay much attention to them. But as one bird drew closer, he realized it was not a common bird but an enormous creature with a wingspan of over three ters. It had seed small from high up, but as it descended towards him, it revealed its fierce posture.

The fishing rod was cast, and the rod, over three ters long and covered with a layer of black, struck the diving giant bird on the head. The intense rebound force made Zheng Yichen’s eyes twitch, but he increased his strength and slamd the giant bird to the ground.

He stopped the motorcycle and approached the creature with a shattered skull. The still-twitching gigantic bird had talons as shiny as steel, and when its beak touched the black spear, it made a clinking sound.

Zheng Yichen stabbed the giant bird in the chest with his spear. The trembling bird struggled for a mont, its body quickly withered, leaving behind a pile of feathers, claws, and a beak, sparingly Zheng Yichen the trouble of dealing with the carcass. He collected the feathers and examined the largest wing feather in his hand.

The strength of the feathers was exceptional; Zheng Yichen could throw them as if they were darts, "Collect so more and make a piece of clothing?"

Zheng Yichen glanced at the sky to make sure there were no creatures nearby, then continued on to the target point.

This world was post-apocalyptic, but certainly not extinct with life. However, in such an environnt, it’s unlikely normal people would venture out alone; probably few were able to do so anymore.

Day turned to night, and by evening, Zheng Yichen had only reached a small city on the map. Many roads were destroyed, and he couldn’t go directly as he wished. He wondered if Old Capital had sothing similar to motorcycle flight devices, ones that could be used on land and air.

With that kind of device, he could reach his target directly.

Along this desolate journey, Zheng Yichen encountered nurous human skeletons and the skeletons of so large creatures. Just one of those creature’s skulls was almost the size of a human’s, and the overall size was at least fifteen ters; in a normal world, it would have undoubtedly been the dominant force.

Yet, after death and exposed to the wind and sun, only the bare skeletons remained, the bones bored into by insects to form cavities, the insect’s nest. When Zheng Yichen went to observe them, he was indeed attacked by those bugs.

"Apocalypse, huh... So desolate," Zheng Yichen muttered as he entered an intact room. The room seed as if ti itself had stopped, with withered potted plants that no longer showed any sign of life and a bed and desk covered in dust and worn by ti.

He picked up a life-sized doll from the bed, dusting it off before putting it back in its place. He sat on a cleaned chair, pulled open the desk drawer, and looked at so small objects inside. Hm... no diary, but there were so exercise books.

"Cheng Yanxin," he read the elegant writing on the cover of an exercise book hesitantly, then he opened it. It took him less than two minutes to close it — best skip over the math problems, especially since they were high school level.

He looked through the other exercise books; so were used by their owner to practice calligraphy, filled with copies of articles.

Then his gaze turned to the computer in the room. After considering for a mont, he went straight to the living room and fetched a portable power supply from the motorcycle. This gadget ca with a solar charging panel and a manual crank generator; it could be connected to the motorcycle to generate electricity while driving, making it a handy piece of gear for the wilderness.

Ard with the experience from last ti, he made preparations for this.

He opened the computer case in the bedroom and carefully inspected it. After cleaning off the dust, he connected the power. "Phew— it works, it works... damn!"

Staring at the unresponsive computer, Zheng Yichen fiddled with it for a while. The case showed signs of life, but the monitor remained dark. After so ti, he gave up and turned his attention to another place – the television in the house.

The television lit up but received no signal. That was that.

Giving up on tinkering with the electronics, Zheng Yichen continued to wander. In the desolate city where ti seed to have stopped, finding a decent house was not an easy task, other than dealing with the corpses.

Everything in this place was intact, which suggested no one was here when disaster struck.

Upon opening the wardrobe in that bedroom, Zheng Yichen’s relaxed expression turned serious. Inside lay a curled-up skeleton that had been there for so long there was hardly any odor left: "Sorry to disturb you, goodnight."

He closed the wardrobe door, left the bedroom, and after a quick clean of the living room sofa, he settled down there and spent the night. Waking up early the next day, he dug a hole in the open space in front of the house. After changing the skeleton’s clothes for a complete set, he placed it in the grave.

After all, he had spent the night at soone else’s ho, so it was the right thing to do.

The sound of the motorcycle carried through the desolate, silent streets, alerting the area’s residents early on. So were small animals, others survivors...

"Who is that person?" The hiding survivors watched the receding motorcycle with disbelief. Survival in the post-apocalyptic world was extrely difficult. Apart from the scarcity of resources, there were also those mutated creatures. Viruses were still around.

However, over a long period of ti, the influence of viruses had gradually waned, or rather, survivors had gradually developed resistance to them. But this was only true for a minority of viruses; most people still couldn’t ignore the effects of viruses like the Evolvers could.

There was no doubt in their minds that Zheng Yichen was one of these Evolvers. They had no intention of following him. The turbulent period after the apocalypse had ended, and the survivors who remained in the abandoned city, though their lives were tough, still managed to live relatively normal lives.

As long as they avoided dangerous mutated creatures and didn’t drink contaminated water, they were fine. Initially, the contaminated soil made it difficult for seeds to sprout, but now the earth was able to bear so crops. Boiling water helped to nullify the virus’s impact.

Taking a shower with normal running water was also fine; people had developed fairly robust resistance to viruses.

After the apocalypse, human survival shifted towards a tribal way of life. Unlike ancient tribes, these people still had so heritage and didn’t revert back to the Stone Age. But reconstructing civilization was not so easy. The main issue was the severe disruption in the transfer of knowledge. During the early stages of the viral outbreak, a staggering seventy percent of ordinary people were eliminated.

A terrifying figure indeed. The remaining human race suffered further losses during the subsequent wave of mutations.

This severely impacted the continuity of advanced knowledge. With insufficient productivity, a lack of population, and poorly maintained equipnt, communication between people was basically lost. Previously, various modes of transport had shrunk distances between people, but now the distances separating survivors scattered across the planet had reverted to sothing akin to ancient tis.

Rebuilding civilization was a re fantasy for many survivors. As for the occasional radio signals received suggesting that a city was being rebuilt sowhere and that all survivors could go there,

those who were close might consider it, but those who were far? Forget it. Want to get there? The sheer distance was enough to doom eighty percent of ordinary people en route, not to ntion that no one could rule out the possibility that such signals were bait.

In a post-apocalyptic world lacking legal constraints and collapsed civilization, anything could happen wherever people gathered.

As he rode past a gas station, Zheng Yichen checked it out and left disappointedly. Although he had anticipated it, coming away empty-handed was still disheartening. However, here he noticed signs of human activity, but they were sowhat unsettling.

He saw human excrent, likely left within the last couple of days.

There were people in this small city, but Zheng Yichen had no intention of looking for those survivors. He couldn’t save this post-apocalyptic world. At most, he could eliminate certain targets and, incidentally... collect so valuable items like gold.

Exchange for other resources? He didn’t have so spatial storage gold finger to carry everything he needed with him. What he carried was enough for his own use.
